Hi Everyone,
My apologies for being somewhat "missing in action" the past few months. I have been dealing with a serious illness...but God is Good! I'm still able to get out with my camera, and for that I'm thankful!
I have a lot of catching up to do here, wow! I pray that you all are blessed so far this year. I know I am!
I wanted to request prayer for my health and to stand with me in faith that I will be healed in the Name of Jesus! And also for continued favor with my job. Everyone there is so awesome, it's like a family...they really care about me, and when I miss work because of my illness, they understand...very rare thing nowadays. Please stand with me that God has my healing very soon, and that I will be able to return to full time.
And also I wanted to share a praise report. Some of you might remember my praise report a little over a year ago about how God moved me from Denver to Gunnison, Colorado: A gorgeous mountain valley, and He gave me an awesome job. Well, I am still here, absolutely loving it! As an avid nature photographer, now living in what I call a "photographer's paradise", one of my dreams was to get my photography into a gallery, especially in Crested Butte, which is a gorgeous ski resort town about 30 miles from where I live. I applied and submitted to a couple of galleries shortly after I moved here and waited. In November, I got a call from a gallery in Crested Butte, informing me that I was chosen to be the guest artist for January 2011! I almost dropped my phone lol. Wow! So here I am in the middle of January with 9 of my images showing at the gallery. January is one of the best months to show at a gallery in Crested Butte, because of the ski/winter recreation tourists. Since the 1st of this month, 5 of my images have sold so far! I have made back what I paid to have my images printed and mounted, plus a profit! Hallelujah! I wasn't even expecting any of them to sell; was happy just having my images in a gallery...but the sales are a wonderful surprise and blessing from God! He is so good! I pray all the time that my images bring the blessings of God to others. It's awesome to know that my photos will be hanging on peoples' walls. There is a local professional photographer who has his images at the same gallery. His work is hanging in several local businesses, and he does guides and workshops. He saw my images and personally called me and told me he thought my work was "phenomenal", and when I went last week to re-stock, he was there and told me that I've outsold him so far this month. He then gave me a check for my sales. Wow! I just can't wrap my brain around all this lol. God is awesome!
Here is a picture I took of my display when I set up on the 1st. This is my original set-up. I've had to re-stock twice since this, so some of the images are different now. I had my images mounted on boards of wood. They are called gallery floats, because when you hang them on the wall, there is a block of wood on the back that attaches to the wall and keeps the mount separate from the wall. The images look like they are painted onto the wood. I love them, because they are frameless. No glass, no mat, no trying to figure out sizing the picture to the frame/mat. And I was thinking about travelers coming in and out of the ski area...probably not wanting to deal with transporting glass, so these were perfect.
I am so blessed, and thank God every day for who He is and what He has done in my life. No chronic pain or illness can stop me from giving Him praise, or from sharing the gifts He has given me!
Thanks for sharing in my joy!
Blessings and Prayers,
Kelly
