I had a bad fall this afternoon, and just got home from the hospital. I was attempting to get on the bus, making my way over some melting, slushy snow, when my one foot slipped and I went crashing down, hitting my head on a cement light pole. I was taken to the hospital by ambulance, and had a cat scan done since there was some worry I might have a bleed in my brain. Will be off work tomorrow, and Gary is coming over shortly so that he can be here to wake me up every two hours.
I will be praying. I know how tough it is to have a concussion. It was a week and a half ago when I went through this very thing, they did a CT scan for me as well for the same reason. I had subtle weakness in my left arm. Bonnie, if you read this, please know my thoughts and prayers are with you, that you might heal up as quickly as I did. Do yourself a favor, and don't do anything that will require a whole lot of "brain power" (watching tv, computer work, or anything like that) until you are fully healed up. If at any point in time your head starts to hurt more than what is normal after a day or two; stop, lay down and close your eyes. All of this was strongly encouraged (to put it incredibly nicely) for me, and I listened, well as best as I could anyway ...
Ohhh, goodness! Nasty for sure. Bonnie, I will be praying for you.
And Heather, I just spoke to you tonight and found out about your fall. I'm so sorry. :(
Oh dear, Bonnie! Head injuries are always so scary. You are being placed on my prayer list.
Thank you all for your prayers and concern, and thank you, Judy for thinking to post this here.
Other than having a very, very bad headache and a bit of difficulty getting words out when speaking, I am doing ok.
Gary asked me questions every time he woke me up, to check on how alert I was/am, and my supervisor did the same this morning when she called to see how I am doing.
Seems my mental state and thought processes are fine. Praise the Lord.
To Heather, it isn't going to be easy for me to avoid doing the things you suggest. Afer all, chatting on the computer and reading novels are two of my favorite passtimes. I do thank you for your suggestion though, and promise to limit those activities to short spurts.
Bonnie, I just saw of your nasty fall. I was so glad to come here and find you are recovering nicely. Praise God.
And good to see Heather's post also, and see you are on the mend.
All good news!
Thank you Nita. I am still experiencing a very bad headache and some trouble getting the right words out when speaking. I am doing better than I was on Monday...so the prayers are working.
I'm here and praying for both Bonnie and Heather.

Bonnie, glad to see you are seeing some improvement daily. Head injuries are serious matters, as you well know.
HEather is pretty well on top of things. Continuing to pray for you, continue to do as the Doctor says.
Thank you Ruth Ann, Larry, and Judy. Yes, I know that head injuries are very serious matters, and I am definitely doing what my doctor says. The prayers and support offered by the CP family sure are appreciated.
Just so you will know, I'm praying for you also Bonnie.
Thank you Don.
I went to my church for dinner last night; something I have enjoyed doing on Saturday nights for several years. The dinner, conversations, companionship, and laughs, was great as always, but I found the chatter of many in a large space was a bit too much for me. There was a blues concert upstairs afterward, to raise money for outreach programs. I was hoping to attend, but knew that my reaction to the babble of voices was a good indication that I would not do well with the noise level of the instruments.
Not going to church this morning, but will be spending some time contemplating the Book Pastor Dennis will be preaching about. Colossians 3 is one of my absolute favorite books of the Bible, especially verses 1-16.
Have an awesome Sunday everyone.
Concerned "Mom" here....I'm praying.
Thank you "Mom". So glad to have you back in my life.
It's the other way around. I am glad to have you in my life, in Christ. Love you Bonnie!
How wonderful to have a prayler hearing and prayer answering God! The prayers are nothing, but our Father is wonderful!
Yes He is, Al.
And Judy, I am glad that I came into a personal, saving relationship with Christ so many years ago. You, and a few others, had tried to talk to me about Him, but my mind, ears and heart were closed at the time. Happy to say He is my source of strength, comfort, and life lessons.
And, He definitely had a hand in our reconnecting.
My head pain is a dull ache today, rather than the crushing, almost unbearable thing it had been since the fall. Eye strain is minimal too. The prayer is surely helping.
Good. Will keep praying. How are you doing with work?
Hi Judy. My doctor's note has me returning to work on the 4th of March. Please see my praise post re another blessing.
I saw that!!! God is good all the time!. HOw well I remember those words of Dennis's!
