I've had an occasional problem with a bulging disc at L5 (lower back). It's flared up again, and I've been to the chiropracter 4,5 times in the last two weeks. It's very debilitating and is keeping me from the cardio-vascular exercise I also need, not to mention a buddy's book I'm editing and three of my own I'm reediting. Pray God will relieve me from this so that I can do what He's given me to do.
Al ... I am agreeing with you in prayer that this problem will be resolved and healed. I know God has a work for you to do and these physical problems and limitations are keeping you "disabled" to the extent that His work is hindered. God will be your ever increasing strength ... I know this, and I believe He will restore you to perfect wholeness as you wait upon Him. My prayers are with you ... in all things. Keep looking to Him the author and finisher of your faith.
Al: Jane said it perfectly. My prayers for you.
Carol
I pray for Mercy for our brother Al, should Your will be such that he can be spared further pain, please accept this humble prayer.
In Your Son's precious name,
Amen.
Thank you, dear ones.
I am very, very thankful to report that the disc problem has been taken care of. But, now, instead of the left side, where the problem was before, now I have pain at the very top of my right leg. They've taken xrays, and, hopefully, will be looking at them Monday. Please pray that the doc will see what's the problem and be able to fix it.
Al - I am praying for you. I don't express myself as eloquent as others, here., but my prayers are sincere!
Judy - I don't think God cares much about eloquence, so thank yousd!
"Yousd" welcome, Al :)
Al, aren't we glad our Father isn't swayed by eloquence, but only a sincere prayer, as Judy offered? I've just said a prayer for yousd too. ;D
I agree Nita.
Praying for you brother.
Thank you - all! Yousd are wonderful bros. & sisters.
The chiropractor and I looked at the xrays yesterday. They didn't show any abnormalities, which is good, except that my problem remained undiagnosed. He then put me on the table and checked even more carefully. He found that my right hip was indeed displaced. It was hard to move it, but he did, and I immediately felt about 80% better! That lasted through the day and into the evening. However, part way through the night it became quite evident that he's going to have to do it again, as I had about an hour of spasming. Please keep praying - thankfully we're at least on the right track.
Al, that is good news. Sometimes it takes several treatments to get things back in place and have them stay that. Sure the temporary change in the pain level was most appreciated.
Please continue to pray. That right hip (pelvis, pelvic joint, ?) is still acting up. I can get along somewhat, but it isn't right by a long shot.
Al - I've had three nights in a row without proper sleep. Last night, however, I thought perhaps the Lord was keeping me awake to pray for some special people. :'( People who I know are "hurting"!! :'(
Al - you were one of those special people I was praying for. I do hope that my prayer for you is soon answered. :)
you're a great sister in our Lord, Judy!
Al, have you another appt with the chiropractor? I pray that he can again fix your hip so that you won't be in so much pain. I'll be praying that our LORD has His healing hand on you and the doc. And that He will continue to give you patience to endure.
I am reading the Psalms with Marilyn. Is there a #4?
Karthy - yes, I hope to be going in to the chiropracter today - and I'm still hoping and praying that he'll find and fix the problem. Thanks for your prayers.
And - yes, Psalm 4 is there. It's not in chronological order. You'll see that there are several pages of psalm studies. If you click on other pages, you'll find it.
Please continue to pray that I'll be able to get this pelvis/hip/? adjusted to get rid of the problem. The chiropracter can't find the problem, therefore doesn't know what to do. I'm going to my regular doc today, possibly to schedule an MRI - maybe that'll find the problem.
Dearest Father, I pray that you will give the doctors supernatural insight as to the prolbems Al is having in the pelvis/hip area of his body. I also pray that this problem will soon come to an end and that you will receive all the glory. In Jesus name Amen
Father God, I pray for Al today. I pray you will give the doctor and chiropractor supernatural insight and wisdom into this problem, so that Al's pain and difficulty will be quickly resolved. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Thanks Marilyn, thanks Janet. God is so gracious to give us prayer and praying sisters/brothers!
Al: I will continue to pray for you., that you will find relief from this pain.
Father God, we ask in the name of Your Son Jesus Christ our Saviour and our Healer, that You would graciously heal our dear brother Al of his hip problem, just speak the word of healing Lord and it will be done, many of us have come together in this request, we praise You O Lord, amen.
Bless the Lord o my soul, and forget not all His benefits,
Who forgives all your iniquities and heals all your diseases.

If anyone knows what a bad back is like....it is someone who has had one. Mine's been out since November and like you I am going to the chiropractor weekly. he has helped some.....
Heavenly Father: I pray for Brother Al that tonight he get a good night's sleep and awake in the morning refreshed and ready for another day. I will also pray for him to rest Sat night and that he may be able to endure the Sunday services without pain. Thank you Father, in Jesus's name.....
BROTHER AL: I believe in specific prayer and that is what I asked for you.
Thank you, dear brethren. I also believe in specific prayer, and I also believe our Lord is glorified when we pray for one another.
I will pray for you, Al. Have had arthritis in upper and lower spine for many years. Now osteoporosis is making things worse and the pain severe. You might want to have a bone scan....this happens to men too....Chiropracters can't help this problem when it gets bad. I went to them for years and they won't touch me now. They are good....simply limited in some areas.
God Bless,
Liz
Thanks, Liz - what you suggested is indeed being done.
Well, I went to our regular doctor (actually a "Physician's Assistant"), and she found that the area where I've experienced all the pain is quite inflamed, so she gave me a shot of an anti-inflamatory. It felt like new the rest of that day, through the night, and a little way into the next day. Since that time it's been better than it was , but still somewhat painful. I'm taking Ibuprofen, also as an anti-inflamatory. I'll probably go back to the PA in a few days, maybe have an MRI, maybe go to the Physical Therapists, maybe ? Please continue to pray.
Thanks again for all your prayers. There is still a relatively small amount of inflamation near the hip socket on the right leg, and I continue to take Ibuprofen, though not as much. The cellulosis I had on my left leg has flared up again also. So far, we're keeping that under a fair deal of control. The danger is in it becoming infected. Pray that it will not. Man, I sure got old in a hurry!
You old NAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH
Thanks be to our merciful Father, the pain, etc. in my leg is pretty much gone! Apparently there was a fair amount of inflamation up there around the pelvic joint, and now that we've gotten that taken care of, it's much better.
Now it's just the cellulitis in the other leg that's the problem. The specialist is saying it's lymphedema - the lymph system is not eliminating the water as it should. So they're working on that now. The main thing now is that I need to lose weight, and for this I need our Father's help. Please pray.
Al, certainly good news on the pain and I hope the other leg problem will also be positvely resolved. I sure understand your comment about the weight loss.
I've lost 11 pounds (mostly water) in the last several days, and the legs are looking much better. Please pray, though, for my left hip, which seems to have a tendency to get a little out of place very easily. When it is out, it causes pain even when sitting and typing on this keyboard. Please look with me to our Lord, Who is able to heal. He is loving and merciful.
Dear Brother AL .... I just read of your loss in NEM and I am so glad you have been able to find a solution for at least part of your problem. I am continuing in prayer for complete healing and relief of all pain. Our God is an AWESOME GOD indeed!!
Thank you all! There may also be a solution to the hip problem! I had thought right along that the only possible solution would be chiropractic. That does help, but now there may be more! It turns out that physical therapists can often strengthen certain muscles to keep the rest of things in place. I'm going to the doc next week to get a referal to the physical therapist. Pray, please, that it'll help - much!
Come to think of it, Al, I keep my right hip pain in check using an exercise the physical therapist gave me. It was almost miraculous how good I felt, and I utilize it several times a day (and this is 2 years later). Only if I forget for several days does the pain return.
She said the muscle involved is quite often injured in playing football! Now, most certainly I don't play anything NEAR like football, but I also read last year that with diabetics we have a tendency for some muscles to want to atrophy and the only means of keeping them stabilized is to use certain exercises designed for us by physical therapists.
Best wishes, and we'll keep on praying.
Ruth Ann
Thanks Ruth Ann. I pray I may have a very similar reaction to yours! A great thing happened today. The PT specialist that's been treating the lymphedema has told me that Monday will be my last day - I'll be out of these wraps. The legs look so very much better that I can move on now to compression stockings, worn only during the day. Now if the hip can be fixed, I think I'll apply for the Boston Marathon or something! Thank You, dear Lord!
Al - I'll be looking forward to reading about you in the Boston marathon...LOL
How is your hip these days? Have you tried ice packs, then hot packs? Try them alternately. It does help.
Luv ya....Judy
Thanks, Judy. Actually, I'm going in to discuss physical therapy on the hip situation next Thursday. Please pray i'll make it that long.
It sounds good that you have lessened pain and that is a blessing for sure. Wishing you continuing recovery.
Carol
Al, I've been intending to ask - how did your visit with the physical therapist work out?
Ruth Ann
They've given me three sheets worth of exercises to do twice each day to strengthen the muscles around where the pain is. Thanks for the prayers. Now pray that I'll actually do them.
Al: It has been one month since I have checked you out - some solutions to your pain problems so that is good to hear. Prayers continue to your health.
Carol
Keep on keeping on brother ... God gives strength as your day.
The PT does seem to be improving the situation. The one thing I know for sure is that if it does ANY good, it's because God blesses it - it is He Who heals, whether through medical help or without. And I also thank Him for using y'all in prayer.
