One of my friends on Facebook posted an urgent prayer request:

Everyone please pray for my brother Dan, he is in a coma, had a very bad stroke, his wife is battling cancer to, pray for both of them, I'm on my way to Kansas City, thanks...

Then she posted an update:

Thank-you for your thoughts and prayers, he has been trying to wake up, but he starts to fight and pulling tubes , so they put him back to sleep, its not good, he had a huge masive stroke, but he is a RANEY, and we are fighters, and with the Lords he...lp, Dan and Joan will get through this to, he's at St. Josephs hospital on state line, kansas city, Missouri, thanks

and another...

Dan is a wake,, all I can say is, pray for a fast recovery, he will have to learn everything over again. Thank-you all for your thoughts and prayers, I know Dan and Joan are greatful.

I'm so glad God hears even our thoughts  ... I am praying here, on the Oregon coast, too. 

Denise, your brother and SIL are in God's care so trust that he knows best and will fulfill his plan for them.  Stay strong.  I will be praying for you all.

I am praying for the Lord's will in the situation and His peace for all concerned.

Is it my imagination but are the number of people with strokes on the rise?

Could be a sign of the times ... much stress.
