Title: Job
Post by: muddy_sneakers on June 15, 2006, 04:55:53 PM
Hello all,

I hope it's okay that I post this in here...

I am really in need of a job and though I could probably have one if I were to go into fast food, I really can't see myself maintaining my sanity...though I know if that's where God wants me, I guess I have to go...

Anyways...I got a call from Olan Mills today in reference to a photographer position. The ad seemed to be right up my alley, so I sent my resume in. She wants me to call back and ask me a few questions, possibly set up an enterview.

Now forgive me if I don't go into details(like I haven't already)but I am EXTREMELY nervous and lacking confidence right now and just the thought of giving her a ring back kind of unnerves me a wee bit. I want to make a good impression, but I don't wanna make a fool of myself either.

And I know, it's all about God's will, but I would appreciate any prayers you gracious folks would send up on my behalf.

Thanks so much...

Christina I'm praying for God's will to be done in your life.  I pray that you will have perfect PEACE and a calmness that even surprises you when you call this lady.  Jesus says to trust Him and the words will be there when you need them.  Go in peace and the knowledge that our Father knows exactly what you need and He will provide -- ALL things.

I will be praying for you.  I had been looking for full-time emplyment for over a year, and have just now acquired this.  I know how nerve wracking it is to make that return call back because it is your "first interview" and therefore "first impression".  Think of the skills you have to offer and remember to smile when talking to her.  A smile can be "heard"!

I am indebted to ya'll! Thank you so much....I made the call yesterday AND...got her voicemail! haha Called back again later AND....voicemail again! :D

So considering, I think it went pretty well! haha I will be giving her a ring back on Monday. I'm slowly but surely learning to just 'chill' and relax knowing God has plans and I don't have to worry! :)

Hey, don't worry about it!  When my first son was about a year old we went to OlanMills to get some pictures done.  The photographer saw a picture in my wallet that I'd taken of him and offered me a job right there (I didn't take it, didn't think people would appreciate their photographer nursing her son while shooting their pictures or having to stop mid shoot for a diaper change)!  They give you enough training that even a non-photographer would be ok, what they want is an artistic eye and someone who likes people and is responsible.  You obviously will qualify, it will all come down to numbers I'm sure.  If you get it, fantastic, if not...it will have just been because they had too many aplicants and you were not quite fast enough on the resume.  Do you have any pictures you might take with you?  You could post several here and we could say yes or no on whether we think you should take them with you.  They may not even ask for examples of your work since they are usually specific about what poses you do and you don't have to worry about the lighting or anything...it ends up a point and shoot sort of operation, but still, it might help to know that you've got confirmation on which pictures to take IF it comes to that.
