Title: Langdon
Post by: Marilyn on June 25, 2005, 09:36:26 AM
Please pray for Langdon,he is my Daughter in law's sister's husband. He has a drinking problem, an alcoholic. He and Erin have been seperated for some time and erin divorced him last year. They have been trying to get back together and are staing at her parents house in Eureka.

He was very drunk  a few nights ago and got hit by are car wnet up over the hood and his head hit the windsheild. He has 6 staples in his head, one broken leg, a broken arm and broken pelvis. The car hit him in the pelvis. He had left a note saying good bye to erin but he doesn't remember anything about what happened or why he was hit.

Please pray  re: his drinking problem that he will get somekind of help and for his bodily healing as well, he is a christian (Church of Christ) but he also needs salvation.

Father, I pray for Langdon.  Humanly, he seems so hopeless.  But not with ¥ou!  Oh Father, I pray You'll mightily use this disaster to draw him to Yourself, to bring him to the end of himself, to make him clearly see his need of our Lord Jesus.  Oh Father, bless his healing, bless it so that even that draws him to Yourself and moves him to love You.  Oh Father, we ask You to powerfully move him to surrender, to bow at Your feet, and to know Your love and forgiveness - all through our Lord Jesus Christ.

Amen, Al.  I know situations like this can definitely be used by God to accomplish His will in many lives.

I learned of a young man who was stabbed, and nearly killed, by his brother in law.  They were both drunk. After being taken to the hospital from the jail, it was discovered he had the beginning of Emphysema and he has quit smoking as well as drinking.  In fact, he has even been going to church again.

God's ways are not our ways, for sure.

Father God, I lift Langdon to you.  I pray for Your mercy for this man who is so miserable he must seek solace in alcohol and other means.  Father, please send people across Langdon's path to minister life to him, to tell him about Jesus; to tell him God is not mad at him, that God loves him with an everlasting love that can never be deserved, only accepted.  Please draw him by your Holy Spirit to give his heart to Jesus, so that he will truly be a Christian.  Show him that your forgiveness is for him, Langdon, and that your desire is that Langdon live forever in heaven with Him.  We ask these things in the mighty name of Jesus, amen.

Marilyn, me too.

Alcoholism has destroyed many lives in my family.  I will pray that he draw deep from that place within him where he once felt God's love.  Surely it's still there.....somewhere.  We know that our Lord can, Himself, reach into a lost soul and bring life.   I'm praying this for Langdon.  I'm praying that the devil have no satisfaction in this!! And that God receive the glory.

Marilyn, I will also be praying for Langdon.  I have a situation within my immediate family where alcohol has played a devastating role.  Fortunately that person is in recovery and will soon get a one year chip from AA. I hope Langdon will find the help he needs.

Sending prayers for Langdon right now.  My whole family has been touched by alcohol/drug problems.  It is something that hurts the heart so much but the most important thing is prayer and turning over to God each situation for His healing.  Then it is left up to the individual to seek help.  I will always be in prayer even when it looks hopeless.

Langdon is not drinking, not allowed to at the in laws home where he is staying. He is still in his wheel chair. Was in the  hospital 4  days. I checked on him this evening.
