I spoke with my sister yesterday and she told us that my nephew, Todd, has been in the hospital since Saturday and they believe he either has colon cancer or some form of lymphoma that is affecting his colon. They have removed a large volume of fluid and did a colonoscopy yesterday but are still awaiting for results before they know what they will do to treat him. He is only 28 years old and in his final year of pharmacy school. He is married with a 3 year old and another child on the way. We are praying that this isn't cancer. Your prayers for Todd will be appreciated and also for his family, who are in a state of shock.
Oh, Larry. I'm so sorry. Of course, we'll pray.
I know the shock this must be. At times like this, when it is difficult to pray or even comprehend, you can count on friends to come along side and hold up your arms and carry you and your concerns directly to the throne of grace ... I am praying, too, Larry.
Just a quick update. My wife was able to talk with our nephew this morning and then later with my sister. Our nephew has type b lymphoma and it has invaded the colon. He was to get the port put in for the chemo and start that treatment this afternoon. My sister said he was feeling pretty bad later this morning. Your continued prayer support is much appreciated.
Larry I am praying for your Nephew.
Larry, I am sorry to hear this. I will pray for him, and his family.
Please add my name to the list of CP prayer group on Todd and his family.

Larry - this is so sad. I am so sorry, and will pray for Todd and his family. Are they Christians?
Judy, yes I am sure he is a Christian as he was raised in a Christian home.
My sister called this morning and told us that the medicines had attached the cells too aggressively and his kidneys could not accommodate it and he has been in ICU since yesterday. We are very concerned about him but my sister says he has fine doctors attending to him. His wife works at the hospital where he is but, of course, is not working as is staying attentive to her husband. My sister and brother-in-law are also there with her and will stay as long as needed.
Please continue to hold Todd in your thoughts and prayers.
How heartbreaking, Larry! I truly understand what your family is undergoing. My love and prayers for each of you.

An update on my nephew. He is out of intensive care and they were able to force liquids and clear his kidneys so that he didn't have to have any dialysis. He was hoping to be able to go home later today or tomorrow so he can get some rest. However, he is on high dosages of pregnizone. His wife is about exhausted as she has stayed with him around the clock since a week ago Saturday.
Oh Larry, I am so sorry, I will be praying for him as well as his family.
I know this is a shock.
Oh Father - it's hard to know how to pray for Todd, wife, and family. I just ask You for mercy in his case - that You will heal this young man and comfort his wife. Oh Father, use this terrible incident as only You can to teach and bless them in ways we can't imagine. We just look to You, Father, through our Lord Jesus.
Still praying here, Larry, how is Todd doing with the chemo?
oh, dear Larry,
Thank you for bringing your concern here for prayer
Please remember that I will add your nephew to my prayer list.
We do serve and Awesome God who knows our every need
and He will substain us.
Love in Christ,
Joyce
Oh Larry - I hope they are able to get Todd off the Prednisone fairly soon. Its a good drug for a short time., but then can cause weak bones plus many other harmful things.
I'm glad to hear he is out of the hospital, though....please keep us posted!
I just spoke with my brother-in-law and he and my sister returned home on Wednesday when Todd was able to go home. They are babysitting the little three year old although my sister is back at work. Todd seems to be doing ok at the moment and won't have another chemo treatment until July 7th.
Definitely still praying for Todd. Chemo treatments can be difficult, to say the least.
Still praying Larry.
Oh Father, please give the doctors special insight and wisdom in administering this chemo - O keep it from being to aggressive or too weak, but bless it to the removal of the problem through our Lord Jesus Christ.
I spoke with my sister on Saturday and my nephew was feeling much better and had gone out to play golf that morning. She said he was really tired when he got back but sure that was good for his mental health. He is to have another chemo treatment on Thursday. Thanks for your continued prayers.
I, too, will be praying for Todd and his family. Also, that the chemo will work and heal this young man.
How difficult, Larry! My prayer is for strength and healing for your nephew and for the entire family.
Ditto as to Ruth Ann's prayer for strength and healing.

Any word Larry how the chemo treatment went?
I hope Todd continue to do better.
I have not heard since right after he had the second treatment, which went well. He was planning on trying to start his next rotation in pharmacy school. Sure he is probably one very tired individual. Fortunately he is not having to attend classes, at least I don't think he is, but is actually working in various settings during this last year. I just hope and pray that he can hold up to it through the series of chemo treatments he must have. Thanks for inquiring.
