Pinkie has been diagnosed with ovarian cancer. She had a hysterectomy back in'93 and the Ovaries were removed. However she tells me that the cancer can grow on the tissue that the ovaries were formed from. I have asked her to keep me informed of what the Dr's are going to do about it etc.
Thanks for bringing this to our attention, Marilyn. I am praying. Keep us informed, okay? :)
Thanks Marilyn...
Marilyn: Will appreciate the updates on Pinkie. Thanks.
I add my prayers to others for Pinkie. Nita
Marilyn, so sorry to read of the renewed problems for Pinkie. I will keep her in my prayers in the days ahead.
I, too, will remember her in prayer
Update on Pinkie
I received this email today
Hi Marilyn...
Had the surgery on thursday - been in
baylor hosp since then. Am presently getting a blood transfusion to raise my hemaglobin. They are preparing to send me home tomorrow. I have been put on Hospice.
All is well with my soul.
Shalom.
Thanks, Marilyn. Somehow this just makes me sad. I know all is well with Nancy's soul, but the sadness remains. :'(
I agree, Jane. My sadness comes from "my" loss, even though I never got to meet Pinkie personally. However, the line "it is well with my soul" speaks volumes.
I know God is always right but sometimes it just isn't fair. You have your ovaries removed and all the other stuff and you think...Well, at least I won't have cancer there. And then.... Just isn't fair.
Marilyn, do let Pinkie know that I am praying for a complete healing. It is comforting that she has the confidence that 'it is well with my soul'. That means no matter what, she is healed!
But Pinkie will be fine and we will see her again on CP. God Bless.
I just got this email from Pinkie
Marilyn...
the cancer is very aggressive and widespread. They couldn't get it all. My quality of life will be better being on hospice. I was a hospice nurse myself for a number of years so I know how they can help.
Shalom.
Oh Dear. This is so sad.
I was told that since I have had a complete removal of ovaries and uterous that this cancer would never be a concern. I will be checked at my next physical.
Let Pinkie know we are praying here at CP.
Thanks for the update, Marilyn. I am sure Pinkie feels comfortable and will have the very best "quality of life" with hospice care. Especially since she knows the care she will receive.
I'm sorry my daughter was never afforded that comfort.
Marilyn: Appreciate the latest news from Pinkie. I wish that I could visit with her as I have with others. Hospice will be warm and comforting.
Jane: Sorry to read that your daughter did not have that comfort but now she sleeps with angels. My best to you.
Carol
Marilyn,
Thanks for keeping us updated. Please let Pinkie know she is "remembered fondly" (someday, I, too, will ride a pink motorcycle) and definitely being prayed for.
K.
:) Hi Marilyn. Sorry to here about Pinkie and we will be praying for her. I lost my brother-in -law and he was only 45 but the Lord saw him through the whole ordeal and gave him peace. So please pass onto her that the Lord will give her peace. <3
:'( :( I'm so sad to read this news. I will always think of Pinkie as alive, vibrant, riding a pink motorcycle and taking lovely photos. I will be praying for her, and thanks, Marilyn, for letting us know, and for keeping us updated.
Hi Nancy!
I know you've been looking in here so this is just a little "Hello" to you my special friend.
If you get online again, I'm usually around if you feel like a chat.
Love you to bits, Nancy.
Love
Pat
Dear Pat and all my friends at Christian Photographers!
How blessed I am to have such wonderful faithful prayer warriors supporting me through my trials! I love you one and all!
Thanks for your words of encouragement and hope!
Lord bless...
So good to see you here Pinkie.
My prayers are continuing every day.
Thanks for stopping by, Nancy (Pinkie) ... I am praying too ... God will be glorified! Come back often, okay? Love you, Jane
Hi Nancy...
I was just sitting here praying for you and wondering how you are doing so I thought I'd come in here and just post to you.
When you get the opportunity, just drop in to say "Hi". I so miss our chats.
Love you,
Pat
I have just recieved the sad news from my friend Nancy [ Pinkie] I posted the hospital bike run for Nancy in my gallery. These are bikers who go around in Carlow Ireland and collect for toys gifts for the childrens hospital at Christmas time.
A rough looking lot but as my dear departed mother would tell me often "Never judge a book by it's cover.
Nancy was in my thoughts straight away with being a fellow biker. Although I have not been in touch with Nancy for a long time Nancy and many more of you are always in my thoughts.
Many moons ago Nancy gave me a call all the way from the USA it sure was good to hear her voice on that lonely night. It was round about the time I was decieved by a woman and I was feeling so very low and broken hearted. Nancy comforted me at that time.
I sure hope she can hear my prayers for her now.
I will always remember that beautiful voice sometimes in life small things happen that stay with you forever I always remember that phone call. Thank you Nancy.
I remember one contest on Christian Photographers where myself and NANCY placed an identical near enough photo in. Both of the upper limbs of trees Dancing Limbs it was called. Great minds think alike as they say Nancy!
Tonight there will be an extra prayer for a special Lady in the USA Nancy Pedersen the biking Christian Photographer our dear friend. God Bless you Nancy.
Your friend Al
Thought I'd share a recent photo of Nancy and her son that she sent to me.
Please continue to pray for our dear sister in the Lord.

Oh Pat think you for posting this photo of our dear sister.
Yes, Pat. It's a great help in remembering to pray for her. thanks. Nita
Good morning one and all! I am still here With the Lord's help and your prayers! I just had a permanent drain put in. Previously I've gone to have between 2 and 3 liters of fluid tapped off my abdomen every week as a result of the cancer activity, and now I should be able to do this myself. I'm living with my sister and have my own little room. She lives on the lake and I've always wanted to live on the lake. I'm still taking pictures and even selling a few to suppliment my meager income!
Is there any way I can be notified in my email when someone writes something about me...I'm not very knowledgable about how these things work...But also the pain meds may cloud my thinking somewhat as well.
Shalom.
Pinkie all you have to do is to click on the "Notify" button at the bottm next to the reply button.
It is so good to hear from you and to know that you are still taking pictures and selling some too. Hospice must be doing a vey good job keeping your pain levels under control. Please come back often, let us know how you are progressing. You are still in my daily prayers as I also pray for others with cancer and name each one of them.
Love you Sister
Marilyn
I'm here, too, and praying, Pinkie.
Much love, Ruth Ann
Pinkie, please be assured you are never far from my thoughts and you are in my prayers constantly. <3
I am glad you stopped by again to let us know what's going on in your life. It's good that you can live with your sister --- and on a lake! How neat is that!
Happy photographing ...
Oh Pinkie, I am so sorry to hear this. Even knowing what is in store for you and the joy you will feel when you see Jesus face to face doesn't always make the prospect easy to take. It is our selfishness that makes us want to keep you here. My aunt is a hospice nurse, I hope you have someone as wonderful as she is helping you out. That is fantastic that you are able to be living on the lake. Is there anything else that you've always wanted to do/see that maybe we could help you out with? I don't know...send you pictures from a place that maybe one of us lives in or near that you've always wanted to see?
I think it is wonderful you are still doing the photography and selling it, way to let the cancer know it isn't boss. :)
Sara
Always in my thoughts and prayers Nancy.
Keep on clicking and lets see a few of your latest photos.
God bless.
Alan and Sheila.
Continuing to pray.
