Title: Need Prayer
Post by: dware54 on January 10, 2005, 11:53:41 PM
Hi:  My wife (sweettater) posted a prayer request for me I think here about a week ago or so.  Well some new developments have occured.  This past friday,  I was having chest pains again, so my wife took me to the emergency room, and they put me right in as a patient.  I spent friday and saturday night there.  On saturday morning they ran a heart cath on me and found some partial blockages that they are treating with meds at this time in hopes of avoiding surgery.   Well, the problem comes in that neither of us has any health insurance, and because I am on disability, I do not qualify for medicare yet.   I have no idea how many thousands of dollars this will cost me, plus the medications the doctor has me on will cost us around $300 a month.   We have no way of paying either the hospital bill nor the medication.   Pleas pray that God would open the windows of heaven and pour out a blessing on us.   I know that He owns the cattle on a thousand hills, and that His ever loving hands are ever present in our lives.   I need strength and faith that God will supply all our needs.   Thanks

Dave

Dave, just prayed for you!
Many hospitals have programs to help cover the basic costs if you qualify for help. It's worth asking about. You'll still have the separate bills from the doctors and x-rays and such, but they may "forgive" the cost of the room and supplies. While it's not the bulk of the total cost, every bit helps! Call the hospital and ask someone in the accounts department.

The cost of medication truly can be outrageous. Poke around online for pharmacies if you haven't already done so and maybe you'll find you can save a few dollars.

Also consider speaking with your doctor about herbal helps along with your medication and perhaps the duration your on the perscriptions will be shortened. Ginko, green tea, and flax seed all will help in your situation, and are all relatively low cost.

Dave, please know that I am praying for this situation.  I happen to know a little about having more -- much more -- "due" than is available for payment.  God knows, too ...  You need to rest in that knowledge and not fret about things you can't control.  Get better and He will supply the needs.  I know this too!

DAve can you apply for Medicaid in your state? the pharmacuetical companies will give you the meds for free if your doctor will fill out the paper work. You can get he phone numbers online at the pharmceutical websites to call and ask them to send you the forms.  If you can get medicaid (probably through the local welfare office) they will pay for everything you need.[/b]

Update:

I applied with the county assistance program right after I was discharged from the hospital, and I heard yesterday from them that they will be covering all the medical expenses from my 2 emergency room visits and my hospital stay and surgery.   Will only cost my wife and I about $50 a month until it is paid back.  Praise the Lord!!!   Am now seeking help in covering the cost of the prescription medications.  Have applied to the pharmaceutical companies for help there.   GOD IS FAITHFUL!!!

Thats wonderful Dave!  PTL.

Here in Ontario, everyone is 100% covered with the hospital insurance fully paid, and all doctor's visits are 100% fully paid for as well.
