Title: Please Pray for Dylan
Post by: Dennis on December 18, 2006, 01:16:47 PM
Dylan is my 10 year old nephew who's family has requested prayer.  He has been battling leuckemia (SP?) for some time and has been on chemo for about 1 year.  Things were going as well as one might expect until Dylan woke up from a night's sleep in great pain...he had broken a small bone in his lower spine while asleep!  About three days ago he broke several more bones in his neck during a fall going to or from the bathroom in the hospital.  Along with the chemo being tough on his little body, the leuckemia has returned with a vengence. Dylan and his family could use your prayers and a good dose of understanding God's will in their lives, His love, grace and timing.  I have not heard anyone in Dylan's family ever make any affirmation of their belief/relationship with our Lord, but I do know that Dylan and his brother have occassionaly attended a local church.
Please pray as the Lord leads you and thank you for your understanding.

Oh, my dear Dennis...

I truly am so saddened to read this.  I definitely will be praying for this dear little lad.  In fact, I just did and I will continue to do so.

Please, please keep us posted as to his condition.

God bless you, Dennis and I pray that you as this little fellow's uncle will be conscious of being in the hollow of the Great Physician's hands.

Pat

Dennis,

I feel it is beyond human understanding when little ones like Dylan are so burdened with illness and pain.  All we can do is pray that God will help in these difficult times and bring some relief to the little fellow and his family.  I will be praying for Dylan.

Oh Father, I know You always hear our prayers, and I know You know far more about the need than we do.  But I present my prayer before You because You have called us to do so.  I pray You'll become very, very real to this boy and his parents.  I pray You'll move them all to bow in Your presence and to realize Your absolute sovereignty and wisdom for every person's life and eternity.  Oh move them by Your Spirit to entrust themselves into Your hands, Father.  We don't know what's eternally best for them, but I would just ask You now to heal and comfort mightily through our Lord Jesus Christ.

I'm joining my prayers with those above.......

And, Dear Father, please send someone to tell Dylan and his family of Your great love for them.  If necessary, we know you can send an angel to visit little Dylan.  But any way YOU decide to do it, through angels or through humans, we just thank you for your love and care for this little boy.  We ask that his pain be alleviated, and his little body receive total healing, from top to toes!  In the name of your precious son, Jesus, we ask it, Amen.

I thank each one of you for your prayers.  Our God is a mighty God!  I can feel the warmth in each of the reponses and prayers to my posting for Dylan that only our Savior could have placed into your hearts.  Praise His name!  Dylan is such a sweet young boy, much too small for his age and very thin, pale and bald.  But he has a sweet spirit and many people around the world, now, are praying for him.  Thank you all so very very much.  And thank you, Lord Jesus!  Amen!
I will post updates as I learn of them.

I just found this request tonight.  I'm praying for this precious child too.

Someday we will know why things like this happen.

I just found out that Dylan's Drs have changed their approach to his therapy and his body appears initially to be responding well.  His wbc (white blood count) has increased to the point that the Drs feel he can go home for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.  All news is one day-at-a-time and as most of you know, childhood leuckemia is a disease that many recover from.  We must be thankfull for the time we have with our family members and friends as life is but a whisper.  We praise God for the blessings He has bestowed on us.  We thank Him for His incarnation and His unconditional love.

Thank you all for your prayers for Dylan and family.  Just a week ago, Dylan's condition appeared to be worsening...the Drs felt it best to send him home (after 8 weeks of hospitalization and chemo).  His cancer was not responding to the treatment.  Dylan wanted to go to Seattle to see the Space Needle & other sights, so off they (his immediate family, an Aunt and 2 Grandmothers) went.  They were all reportedly having a very good time.  Last night Dylan entered a Seattle hospital with a severe fever.  He passed this morning @ 5:30 AM.  Thanks again for all of your support.  You are the greatest!

Ohhhh, I'm so sorry!

It's so difficult to bid farewell on earth of one of our little children or offspring but how lovely to know he'll be waiting for you on the other side.

I really am saddened by this news.  So happy that he got to see what he wished for though in Seattle.

Thanks so much for letting us know.  I've had him and the whole family circle on my list here by my computer.

The Lord's ways are perfect.  What a thought!
