Title: Pray for my husband please.
Post by: Samantha on November 16, 2004, 08:43:00 PM
I am asking for prayer for my husband.  Being in the ministry is hard sometimes and now is one of those times.  Please pray that he will receive from the Lord all he needs to do the job that he has been given.

Thanks
Samantha

Father pour out your strength, at this moment, upon your servant.  I pray you will give him wisdom and guidance for the task set before him.  Only you, Father, can bear him up and encourage his heart and enbue him with power from your throne on high.  Hold this man of God and his family in Your arms, comfort them, and fill them with the knowledge that You are still on the throne and will keep them from falling.

Father God, Send Your blessings to this family and especially to the minister. Give him the guidance, wisdom and patience to deal with the stress of situations. You know his needs and I thank You for Your presence in his life.. In the precious name of Jesus..

:D  Thank you all so much for your prayers!  He seems to be better as far as I can tell.  As much as Terry (my husband) loves the Lord, he always feels so unworthy and unfit to preach the gospel! Just please remember him when you pray.

Thanks,
Samantha

Samantha, I've prayed for Terry tonight just a little while ago and again, I'm so happy that you've posted in here.  Many of us will continue to remember him.

My prayers for the will of GOD to be greater than the evil ones lies at this time.

Prayers that our Heavenly Father will fill your husband with the confidence he
needs in his ministry to fulfill his calling.

Be gone evil one and the vicious self doubt that you fill this dear sweet man
mind with.

Let GOD's wisdom , love and guidance fill your mind .....

Remembering that Jesus Christ works from the inside out and
will clear the doubts away....

With HIM always with you; you have nothing to fear.

Love in Christ,

Joyce

Amen to the above prayers and I will also be remembering your husband (and you).  I see how hard our ministers work and how much they are often not appreciated and know that being a minister is a special calling and that God will provide what he needs.

Samantha - I'm so happy that Terry is feeling some better.  I'm sorry though, that he feels unfit for the ministry.  I believe Satan puts these ideas into his head., and I'll pray that the Lord's will, will be done in your husband's life.  God bless you both.

Lovingly,
Judy M.

:D  .  As much as Terry (my husband) loves the Lord, he always feels so unworthy and unfit to preach the gospel!

As I told you before, I would pray for you and Terry....and that was w/o reading this post in November.  I started praying for you and Terry in January.  God really does care, doesn't He?

While I am not called to the ministry, I have been called to be a teacher and I know that at times I have felt unworthy of doing so.  Many times while teaching a subject or truth...I found myself being convicted of the exact same thing I was talking about.  I am sure that is true with Terry.  That may be why he feels unworthy?

If we waited till we "felt" worthy, we might never preach or teach.

As long as we are striving to be more Christlike and that we are listening to the Holy Spirits prompting...we WILL be worthy....because Christ told us we were.    The disciples who were the same ones who had deserted Christ in His darkest hour, they scattered to the hills, went back to fishing, denied Him three times and yet God still used them to spread Christs word. Remember when the disciples were filled with the Holy Spirit...they preached with BOLDNESS.

Reminds me of a story John Maxwell told when he was still preaching in Lancaster Ohio in the 60's.  A big snowstorm had left about 12 inches of snow on the ground.  He was pacing back and forth in front of his picture window, lamenting how much time he had spent on the sermon preparation and that because of the snow....no one was going to be there to hear it.

Margaret, his wife of many years asked him what was his sermon topic.  John replied, "Rejoice and again I say rejoice."

Margaret, then said, "You'd better either change your topic or change your attitude."

He changed his attitude.
