I have a special request for prayer for a little Cambodian girl names Veasna. She is living at an orphanage run by a missionary, Daniel Johnson, originally from Coos Bay, Oregon. Both parents died of Aids, and she has developed some symptoms...well, I'll just post what Daniel said. His heart is just huge for these kids. I remember hearing when he was working at the sawmill with my son in law, got saved gloriously, and immediately the Lord sent him to Cambodia. At first he had no affiliation, just went following the Holy Spirit.
first post re Vaesna: Veasna, 5 years old, whose parents died of AIDS has developed large lumps on her scalp and neck while I was in the countryside. After taking her to the clinic today and having some lanced, they insist she go to the children's hospital tomorrow for fear of Ball T.B., a commonly associated illness with HIV infected children. PLEASE PRAY!!! I'm at a loss for further words.
second post(this morning): Phnom Penh, Cambodia: 5 year old Veasna will be at the children's hospital from 7 a.m. - 10 a.m. Friday local time. Pacific Time 6 p.m. - 9 p.m. Thursday. My heart is huting for her. No matter the problem, she really needs DIVINE healing. Please post this on your wall and ask your Church, family and friends to pray for Veasna. She is really suffering, but the pain meds are helping.
Please let Daniel know we are praying for Veasna!
I will, Ruth. Thank you.
My household is in prayer and Veasna has been added to our prayer chain.
Thank you so much. Daniel hasn't posted to Facebook yet, so don't know what they found out. These kids have become so real to me since following his heart and ministry and looking at all the photos he posts. The before and after (before coming to the shelter, and before knowing Jesus)photos are just amazing. From guarded, distrusting and hurting eyes to smiling, and filled with joy.
This is an update. Doesn't tell us much yet, so please don't stop praying for her.
Reposting from Daniel J's Mission page:
Veasna's results will be coming mid-week. Thank you for joining us in prayer. Leaving in the morning to countryside to continue work on Prey Ankonh Church. Will be putting septic and plumbing in on new church land.
It seems there is still nothing positive to report at little Veasna. Here's the report I read this morning.
Veasna spent the morning in the children's hospital. They changed her medicine again. She's a very strong little girl. Keep praying for her. I'm sitting in front of the computer pretty much all day long the next 2 or 3 days. Need to complete New Hope for Orphans' 10th Anniversary Newsletter/Magazine (28 pages) and my ministry newsletter. Too much computer time... prefer to be in the jungle telling people about Jesus.
Father, I pray Your powerful mercy for little Veasna and also for those who care for her. Oh let them all see Your powerful love, Father. Through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Yes, Lord.
Thank you, Al.
Praying. Better late than never!
Thanks, everyone.
Daniel says that Veasna seems to be doing better on the meds she's on. She is still being tested, but he sees her getting better. Praise God.
Right now it seems they are being inundated with new cases of Malaria and H1N1 has reared its ugly head again. God must know this young man can take the trials and remain strong in His faith, committed to his calling to pour himself out for the Cambodian orphans. The tests are many. If you remember, and the Lord puts it on your heart, please pray for Daniel Johnson and the ones he cares for.
I am continuing to pray for Daniel and the children.
Good news about Vaesna and her little brother. Daniel posted this tonight.
Daniel J's Mission So, Miss Theary, one of our interns just came to me and told me that Veasna has no more boils!!! Then she went to check Samnang and his are completely gone too!!! I'm in tears, I didn't doubt...just rejoicing!!!
Thank you for all your prayers. <3
