Title: Prayer for wife
Post by: Al Moak on October 21, 2009, 09:54:54 AM
Please pray for Marbeth, my wife.  She has been on an antidepressant for maybe 45 years or so.  She forgot to take it for two nights and is now experiencing phsychotic symptoms to some degree, doesn't sleep well at night, etc.  We're trying to get help, but there isn't much help around this area (Eureka, California).  I'm dependent upon her help for a number of things, so this could be a big problem to both of us.

Al, I can understand your concern.  I pray our Father will lead you and Marbeth to His solution to this seemingly overwhelming problem.  And until His timing is accomplished I pray He will give both you and Marbeth His strength to lean on and His wonderful peace.

Al I am prying for Marbeth and for you to  find the necessary help  for her. I assume you have called her Doctor who prescribed the medication, but have you tried Mental Health in Eureka. You can call Redwood Community Action Agency and they will help you  find  help for Marbeth.

How refreshing to come in here and realize all who are praying for dear Marbeth.  May you feel the Lord's calm assurance, Alan, as you care for her in the coming days.

Marbeth is in the county mental health facility as of right now.  It could be several days to a week before adequate improvement.  Please pray for her and for me.  I'm supposed to preach Sunday - need God's grace for that.

Thanks for praying, Carol.  Prayers reach the One Who most cares about us.

And Pat - Sunday went well, except for a kind of funny little adventure.  Our pastor has a little wooden lecturn that he likes to use for his pulpit.  Somehow I put a little more weight on it than it liked, and it broke!  One of the fellows immediately picked up my things, got me one of the metal stands (lecturns), and I was back in business.  After that, everything was fine.

In the Sermon on the Mount our Lord spoke of storing up treasures in Heaven, where moth and rust do not corrupt and thieves do not break through nor steal. My message was about that, as based on the exhortation in Prov. 2:1-5.  It's about giving forth all the effort possible  in seeking the treasure He has for us.

Al I am praying for you and your wife. I've been on the same type medications since 1990. You can't quit taking the medication. Also, does you're wife have a Chemical imbalance as I do or just Clinical Depression? Some of the medications they give you today will cause the symptoms Marbeth has.  Here's my Prayer "God our Holy Father please rebuke the Demon of Depression that is bothering Marbeth. You're the only one that can help in this situation. Lead her to a Psychiatrist that can help her in this situation. We love you and praise you. I know you're the only one we can depend on on this matter. I pray this in the precious name of Jesus. The name that every knee everywhere will bow and proclaim that Jesus is Lord to the Glory of God the Father.

Amen

Steve - they say it's a chemical imbalance, and that's what they're treating her for.  So far, it looks like they're being very successful.  Thank you for praying to our prayer-hearing Father.

Well, we could say it all worked and worked well - but we'd be wrong, because it's GOD Who worked!  Marbeth's home and doing quite well!  I thank Him and pray He'll teach me and lead me for whatever I need to learn in this.

Hi Al,
I am happy to hear Marbeth is home and doing well.  God is Good!
Father, I pray that You continue to put Your peace in Marbeths heart, mind and body.  Please let the medications continue to help.  We praise You, Father for Your continued healing power.  In Jesus' Name, Amen.
