Seems as thou the trails and tribulations never seem to cease. They may ease up now and then but they keep coming...
My daughter who is 18 is ill. Shes having problems with her lungs. X-rays were done and 2 CATscans were done. Turns out she has abnormalities in her lungs and doctors cant seem to know what is going on. Her nodes under her arm are swollen too. Shes sceduled for biopsy on the 28th of June. Please keep her in your prayers. My daughter has been through so much in her life. Shes been molested 2 times. One time a neighbor, a neighbor she was babysitting for offered her money to see her naked..And most recently her former boss sexually assaulted her. They know find out that he molested his younger neice who is like 6 years old.
For me. Well I'm diagnoised with depression and GAD (generalized anxiety disorder) OCD and PTSD times can be rough for me..Been fighting off suicidal thoughts...I'm dealing with feelings of being inadequet as a man, father, husband because of my illnesses and the fact I cant work. I'm also a loner and keep to myself, I guess because I dont want to be rejected. I've been rejected by many people including my parents and brother.
My son has psychiatric problems and I ask you to keep in your prayers...
My wife also has issues and problems please keep her in your prayers...
We are all saved. Its just that there is much dysfunction in the extended part of the family and it causes much stress and emotional strain..
Godbless to all
In Christ
Rich
Rich: You have come to the right place to bare you heart and soul. We will support you with prayers for your daughter, and entire family with you as well. Try to keep the faith, I know it is really hard sometimes but taking little walks, and giving thanks for everything. The physical exercise will help your depression and you have to believe that we are pulling for you during this terrible time in your life.
My other suggestion is to read the book of Job.
Carol
P.S. I am sure others can come in with much more sophisticated ideas for you as far as reaching your goal of complete trust.
And, the book of Lamentations; although some of his writings are expressing the depression he was experiencing, I most certainly could identify with the problem (since I'm now finally stabilized on medication for my clinical depression). And, then I came across that wonderful passage in the 3rd chapter. EACH DAY his mercies are renewed to us afresh. That verse, and hanging on to it with all my might, started my recovery. To imagine, all I have to do is take my empty bowl to our Master each morning when I awaken, and His mercies will be fresh and new (not stale or tainted) EACH DAY - enough to fill that little bowl of mine to full and overflowing!!
What a wonderful thought to hold on to as we endure the trials of life. May God be with you and your family. I'll be praying for all of y'all.
Ruth Ann
Rich: I am sending a daily message received through email. This one is so appropriate for so many.
QuoteDaily Reflection and Prayer by Eugene H. Peterson
"The Lord Helped Me"
READ Psalm 118:5-14
I was pushed hard, so that I was falling, but the LORD helped me.
Psalm 118:13
Prayer does not produce "weak resignation to the evils we deplore" (Fosdick), but strenuous battle against the powers of destruction. God does not lead us to bow our heads quietly in submission; he invigorates us to moral battle. "I can do all things through him who strengthens me" (Philippians 4:13).
Prayer: Grant, O God, that by your Spirit I may find motive and means to speak and act in your name. I need courage to face all the skirmishes of daily living and take confidence in your promises given in Jesus Christ, in whose name I pray. Amen.
Carol
I also can testify to you about my depression, You can read about it in my testimony on the testimoy page of CP. I am not going to tell you to read certain scriptures though, for me it was prayer that brought about my healing. So I will be praying for you brother and for your family. I believe in the power of prayer to bring about the healing power of the Lord in our lives. Well I guess I will give you some scripture. Isaiah 53 and Psalm 103, Psalm 91 have been my standby scriptures.
Marilyn
Rich - I am so sorry and saddened to read of all your family problems. Carol, Marilyn, Ruth Ann (I hope I didn't omit anyone's name), have all given such good advice. Thankfully I haven't experienced depression myself, but some close to me have.
Rich, I promise to faithfully pray for you, and especially for your daughter. I just cannot imagine what you are going through.
Just know, as Carol has stated....you have come to the right place.....here, and to the Throne of Grace.
God bless you dear brother.,
- Judy
Oh Rich, I admit to my inability to begin to really understand all you're going through. But there is One Who does know - really know. Our heavenly Father absolutely knows all of it. And He doesn't just know, but He also cares. In fact, be awarlel of this - He cares even more than you do! And He can deal with it all, too. I pray He'll teach you all and raise you all up. I pray He'll bless you in ways you've never imagined. Oh Father, lay Your hand upon Rich in such a way that He'll really know it, through our Lord Jesus.
