Hi everyone. My friend Mike was diagnosed with congestive heart failure, and soon put on the waiting list for a new heart. He received that new heart last night, and is alert and comfortable. Please pray for Mike, his wife Linda, and also for the family of the donor who gave this wonderful gift.
Thank you.
Ohhh, Bonnie! How wonderful that he received a new heart. Now, we'll definitely pray for his recovery.
Bonnie, that's great that he was able to receive a new heart. I'll be praying for his recovery and for the family of the donor.
Praying for a speedy recovery Bonnie.
I'll be praying also!
I'll be praying for him.
Thank you everyone. I will post any news when I receive it.
That will be great, Bonnie.
Wow! A new heart! What an awesome gift in the natural. And each of us can receive a new heart in the supernatural, too! I pray Mike has a supernaturally fast recovery and doesn't have any signs of rejecting the new heart. And God bless the giving hearts of the grieving family of the donor.
Wonderfully said, Janet. Thank you.
Wow! A new heart - it's time for praise and thanksgiving, and then prayer for a wonderful recovery.

Praying Bonnie, I just saw this. Any updates?
Here's an update, as posted on Facebook by Mike's wife Linda.
Mike's new heart is working good smile emoticon He is still in CVICU, but had the ventilator removed yesterday (for the 2nd time) and is now just on nose prong oxygen. Some of the meds are being reduced, which is good. He is very weak and tired. He wakes up for a few minutes then falls back asleep very quickly. The Dr's and nurses all assure me he is doing fine, for just receiving a new heart. The issues are just hiccups that are quite normal. I know there will be ups and downs and a long recovery, but having a heart that is working properly, is a great start. Our thoughts and prayers are sent out to the donor and their loved ones, and heartfelt gratitude for being part of beadonor.ca. it's easy to sign up to be an organ donor, as well as with onematch.ca (part of blood services) to become a bone marrow donor, and of course blood services to donate blood, as it's in you to give
Thank you for the update Bonnie.
You are very welcome.
Mike is no longer in the CVICU, and is spending a lot of time sleeping. He has an infection, which is being treated by strong antibiotics. When he is awake, it is not for long..but each day is better than the one before.
Linda is thankful for all the prayer support she and Mike have received, as well as that that the donor's family is receiving.
Good Bonnie, Prayer continues.
Each step forward shows promise of more to follow! Thanks be to God for his progress thus far.

The latest update from Linda says that Mike is now able to eat real food, mushy or soft at this point, and that his new heart is working beautifully.
Thank you, each and every one...for your continued prayers for Mike and Linda.
Praise the Lord for that wonderful report! I will continue to pray for Mike to have no signs of rejection and continue toward a complete recovery!
What a remarkable recovery thus far. May our Lord be with Mike as he continues his recovery.

Linda's latest report indicates that Mike's new heart is working beautifully, and that the hope is he will be able to go home some time next week.
Thank you to all of you for your continued prayer for Mike and Linda.
Hi everyone. Great news. Mike is going home today..and is looking forward to his own bed, lazy boy chair, etc. The anti-rejection drugs will affect his body's ability to fight infection, so it will be touch and go for a while.
Praise the Lord, for He is good!!
This is wonderful news, Bonnie, to read that he is going home. We'll continue to pray for him.
Thanks so much for the update!
Prayer continues
Thank you, Lord, for this great improvement for Mike. My prayer is that You will continue to bless and keep him as he recovers.

Praises be to God, prayers continue for all involved.
My next door neighbor got a new heart......20 years ago. He still lives a great live. I hope this encourages you.
Thank you, Ed, Don, Ruth, Judy and Pat, for your continued prayers for Mike.
Ed, that is definitely encouraging.
Mike had his first outpatient checkup on Monday, and the doctors say his body is showing no signs of rejecting his new heart, and that the heart is working well.
Thank you for that wonderful report!
What a wonderful report.

That is good news Bonnie.
Mike is in Guelph General Hospital's ICU, waiting for a transfer to Toronto General Hospital. His new heart is working fine, blood pressure normal. His blood sugar is low and there are other imbalances that need to be checked out. Mike and Linda are grateful to all those who are praying for them through this journey.
OK Thank you for the update. I will continue to pray.
Thanks for the update, Bonnie. It is always good to be able to pray specifically!
Bonnie, I have just now read the great news concerning Mike's new heart and how well he is doing. It sounds like he will continue to have good progress but know that he will be on strong medicines for quite a while. How long did he have to wait after getting on the list to receive the new heart? I will also be praying for his continued recovery.
Thank you, everyone, for your continued prayers and concern for Mike.
Hi Larry. You asked how long he had to wait for a new heart. That I am not sure of.
An update re Mike. He reports that his latest heart biopsy still shows no sign of rejection, and that his formerly biweekly biopsies will now be monthly. He also reports that his prednisone has been reduced another 5 mgs.
All praise and glory to the Lord. :)
That's wonderful to hear!
Ruth Ann
Thank you Ruth. Continued prayers are really appreciated. :)
This is good news. Thank you for the update!
