Some of you may remember me breaking a finger last fall. Well, it's a long story but that finger as of Thursday afternoon, has a new injury...frostbite. It did not turn black, so it's not too severe but it sure does hurt like crazy. I've never had such pain other than childbirth. I had no idea it was SO PAINFUL. My hubby has to wash my hair and of course there are many things I cannot do right now and that's frustrating. It's amazing how important one little finger is in our daily lives. There are some analogies to the body of Christ I could go into, but it's taking long enough to type this so I won't go into it. ;)
I feel a little silly asking for prayer for this since it's so minor compared to so many other requests here. I was always taught that if it's important to me it's important to God, so I am asking you to pray for this to heal quickly.
Thank you so much for your prayers!
Praying for you.

I can understand how you feel about asking for prayer. Gods word says: Phl 4:6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
I'm praying!

I have to remind myself sometimes, nothing is too small to ask God about. So, prayers for your injury are lifted by me.

Hi Kathleen,
I have definitely felt like this before....like some of my concerns are too trivial for God. But nothing is too small for Him. He numbered the hairs on our heads. Frostbite is very painful.
Dear Heavenly Father,
Please put your healing touch upon Kathleen's finger, heal the damaged tissue and ease her pain. Wrap your warmth around her finger and restore its function. In Jesus name, Amen.
Finger update...
Thanks to all of you for your prayers and encouragement for my finger. It is still about the same and could take another month or so to feel better and all the swelling to go down. Even though there's a lack of feeling, it also hurts constantly like a tingling or like a mild shock like from electricity. Even while bandaged, if I rub or bump it on something (even like putting my arm into my coat) it feels like a strong electical shock. It's horrible.
I want to get out and shoot, but it's been so cold and windy. It's hard for me to tell when my frostbite finger is getting cold. Typing, laundry and every little daily chore is so much harder to do and takes so much more time, also. So, I thank you for lifting my finger up to our Father who cares about my finger.
Kathleen I couldn't sleep last night because of the strong winds. I spent the time in prayer, and you were included in my prayer time. Will continue to pray.

Thank you so much for your prayers, Judy! It means so much to me. Sorry you couldn't sleep, though.
The past couple of days, my finger pain has finally lessened a bit and is no longer constant. It's so nice to have periods of relief, finally. :) Some of the damaged skin has also started to peel off, but only the parts that have healed enough to do so.
I have never experienced frost bite. Sure sounds poinful. I am continuing to pray.

Glad to hear your finger is getting better. Fingers are a little member of our body but they can hurt as much as any part we have. I lost the end of my index finger on my left hand in the early 90's on a table saw and it took me a year to regain my senses. Well I guess I didn't regain my senses because i never had good sense, but it took that long for It to stop hurting!

Hi Kathleen,
I'm praying for continued healing of your finger. Frostbite can be painful. Nothing is too little for God! :)
The pain in my finger has lessened to tollerable. It is still swollen, especially in the joints, though. Please continue to pray for that to go down. I'm trying to find natural remedies for the swelling. I still can't bend it and when I try exercises to try to get it working better, it swells even more. I have a prescription for steriods, but they are so bad for your body, I really don't want to take them.
Thanks for your prayers.
I'm so happy to read your update, Kathleen.
I just can't imagine you getting frostbite so very serious as this. It's just been awful for you.
Thanks for the update and we'll continue to pray for you.
;D

Aye lass whatever next? How on earth did that happen? Pain is pain no matter how slight the injury, may the Lord kiss it better for you. Even small things can incapacitate a person to the extent that doing anything can be next to impossible. There's a term for that, "I'ts enough to make a glass eye weep." Oh bless you, Michael.
I thought I would update you all on my frostbitten finger. The swelling has lessened to almost normal. The pain is so much better! I can now touch it to things like the keyboard without severe pain. Almost none, in fact. I did find out on my recent trip that it can get back to that place of pain quickly when exposed to the cold. I kinda knew that from getting cold water on it or something, but out at a mountain lake at sunrise was almost intolerable. It will hurt for quite a while after it warms up again, too. I have read that it may always be much more sensitive to cold and have a greater possibility of arthritis and even cancer. I suppose I should just be praising God that it wasn't so severe as to have to be amputated. "In all things give thanks." Yes, even this.
Thanks to all of you for your concern and prayers. I still need to do rehab to get it to bend all the way. There is scar tissue on the joint from when I broke it, which the chiropractor has said I will have to force it to rip the scar tissue in order for it to bend again. I'm not sure I'm willing to do that. This poor finger has been through enough pain, as have I. It may forever be this way. I can almost make an "okay" sign with it as it's my left index finger.
What good news, Kathleen.
Take care!
God is good .......All the time!
