I just had a phone call from Noreen (Gord's wife) saying that on Thursday, and then again last night, Gord had a "happening" that necessitated them calling 911. It was something to do with his heart they all thought.
Anyway, he's in Welland Hospital and tomorrow is being taken by ambulance to go to Hamilton General Hospital (or McMaster General) to have first of all, an angiogram and then if necessary an angioplasty or whatever is needed after.
This first procedure is at 12:30 pm tomorrow (Eastern time).
Gord loves the Lord and so does Noreen and we all know that Gord is in His lovely hands and our Savior knows all about this even before we pray but we're commanded to "pray one for another" so may I ask you all to please add Gord to your Prayer Lists.
Noreen is going to phone me tomorrow evening to update me.
Gord is like a brother to both Judy and I. Jack was instrumental in leading Gord to the Lord away back in 1967 and so he really is our brother.

And poor Noreen now realizes (well, she's realized it all along but it takes something like this to bring it to your attention once again) just how much she relies on Gord for so much. With her severe back problems he's needed to care for her and drive her everywhere.
Oh, Pat ... I most certainly will be in prayer for Gord during this time of uncertainty. I know our Father knows all about it but, as you say, we are commanded to pray one for another ... and so I do!
I'll be in prayer for Noreen as well. This has to be a difficult time for her. <3

One thing Noreen said on the telephone to me was that Gord is in a Private Room and Judy would agree with me that Gord is a "people person" and even though he's not well, he'd rather have people around him and so he said to Noreen, "I'm reading my Bible and I'm singing and please phone Pat so that she can let the folks on Christian Photographers know about this." So that's what she did.
Noreen said to me that Gord has been so blessed by the fellowship from the Christians on here.

I just want you to know that Pat and I have just prayed very specifically for Gord and for you also Noreen, and that God will give the doctors and medical staff true wisdom and guidence in ministering to Gord in a physical way. I fondly remember that accent when Gord called me a few weeks ago. I certainly will be praying for Gord and Noreen. God, be with both of these lovely people in this trying time of their lives here on earth.
Those "happenings" in our ives are so frightening. Yes, I'll also be praying for Gord and Noreen. Isn't it wonderful how this Christian link has been forged and we each love and care for those both brought to us "out loud" and for those who have secret problems and cares and don't bring them to us specifically.

Amen to all of the above prayers as I add mine to yours, I am praying in agreement and will add Gord to my personal prayer list his name is on a sticky here on my computer. I pray God anoints the hands of the doctors and give them absolute wisdom in whatever procedure takes place. That the doctors and nurses that care for Gord will be Christian and add their prayers to ours. If they are not Christian I pray that Gord will lead them to the Lord. Amen
I want to add my prayers for Gord, I have read many of his posts and my heart goes out to his wife as I am in a bit of the same position and it is beginning to reverse. It is esp. hard if you depend on your spouse for driving too. I pray Gods mercy and love on both and strength for her. aw
Praying for Gord right now. And my heart says an "amen" to all the prayers and words spoken in agreement with God's loving and sovereign will. It is a blessing to know that Gord knows the one who brought him into this earthly realm, and to Whom he'll return when his journey here is over.

I am so sorry to hear about Gordon. I always think of him when our Prime Minister is mentioned as their names are the same. Pat...please tell him I am asking about him and praying for him and his wife. I feel like I know Gordon personally because of his links to my native land. I do hope and pray he makes a full recovery.
I shouldn't have read this at work.... Teary eyed me and wishing I could "be there" for Noreen as She has "been there" for us so many times. May God be with you Noreen as you walk this pathway. I too am praying for Gord and trusting this to be just a scare.

I also add my prayers for a friend in need here on CP. I feel I have come to know Gord not only through the web but through a couple of conversations I have been privileged to have with him over the phone. I pray for God's healing for Gord knowing that God has a plan for each of us and it was plain in our discussion that Gord has a very strong faith. I will be checking back in later tonight to see if there is any word on the test outcomes.

Noreen isn't long home from Hamilton, Ontario.
Gord had an angiogram at Hamilton General Hospital at about 3 pm. He has a small branch artery attached to a main artery 90% blocked.
They could not do a stent as it might damage the main artery so did a balloon.
Hope it works but if not, they'll do something else.
Lots of restrictions in the future and Gord and Noreen are praising the health system for the good care. The nurses. and doctors today even looked after his wife and wheeled her around.
Noreen says, "Thanks to all for all the prayers and good wishes."
Gordon was able to be be a testimony when the doctor came to explain the procedure before it began. Gordon asked if he would be able to pray for the surgeon, the other staff and himself before the precedure was started. The doctor commented, "We'll find a minute" and he was able to do that.
We don't know what the impact of this will be for Gordon being obedient to the Lord and putting Him first.
Pat, thanks for the news concerning Gord. Hopefully the ballooning will keep the blockage open to a sufficient degree. In all likelihood he will be able to return home today as the recovery period for a ballooning is usually pretty short mainly doing with giving the entry site time to heal and the soreness to leave.
Thank you Pat. Every opening that we take as believers is an opening that our Lord can use to His glory. Prayer is continuing here in North Bay.

I am sorry to read the health issue with Gord but the last post by JudyB tells me that there has been a turn-around. Prayers for Gord and Noreen - he was so helpful in mentioning places to visit when we went to the UK.

Well, I spoke to Gord on the telephone tonight and bless his heart, he's so touched by all of your posts.
