Urgent Prayers Needed for 6 month old baby girl
We have a member of Photography Cafe who has a six month old little girl who is having surgery tomorrow in England. This darling little Rebecka has four older brothers and needless to say, she's the apple of her Daddy and Mummy's eye and also of her big brothers.
Rebecka has had a very rocky road to travel since her birth and now tomorrow, she must have one of her kidneys removed. Mick and Angela were told today that the prospects of this dear little girl living through the surgery are very grim. The surgery MUST be done but they don't think that her heart will be able to stand the surgery.
I'm posting this today to ask those of you who believe in prayer to please pray that little Rebecka will have the strength to go through this major surgery tomorrow.
Her surgery is to take place at 2 pm (right after lunch) British time. That is 9 am Eastern Time or 8 am Central Time, 7 am Mountain and 6 am Pacific Time.
Please click on the link below to post in our Prayer area and later on, I'll give Mick and Angela a link to the topic so that they will see that there were many prayer warriors for wee Rebecka.
Thank you so much and and God bless you!
Pat
Here's Mick's post on the Cafe:
Sorry for this post.As I have no other way of putting it.
The medics have been round today and given us the ultimate warning.Rebacka has to have the surgery on her Kidney, but there is a good chance that her heart cannot take it and is likely to stop functioning during the procedure, they are that concerned about it that a cardiologist will be in theatre during the operation, and also instead of one aneathetist in theatre they are having two.
We have been told in no uncertain terms,it is very touch and go as to the end result.
Mick

My heart goes out to this family.
Dear Lord,
You are the maker and creator of all. You are the Great Physician and the Healer. I pray a special prayer for this wee little one as she faces this life threatening situation. Keep her in your hand; touch her little body. Be with the parents, and other family who love her as well. Give them a peace about it, the strength to withstand it, and the grace needed to face each moment as it comes. Also, be with the doctor's involved. Guide their hands, give them wisdom. Lord, above all, I ask that Your will be done, and through it all, Your name would be glorified.
In Jesus' Name.
My wife and I joined together in prayerfor Rebecka as soon as I learned of her condition. Our loving God is in control.
-Jim
Father, what a beautiful gift You gave to these people in Rebecka. Now, having given this gracious and marvelous gift, I pray You'll sustain her for them and make them to know Your gracious hand through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Heavenly Father, I pray that you wrap your arms around this family and let them feel your presence as they face this terribly serious situation. I pray that you will guide the doctors and nurses as they perform their efforts tomorrow. If it is your will I pray that this beautiful little child be healed and returned to the loving arms of her family. In Jesus name I pray, Amen
Father I pray You will strengthen the faith of these parents, and other family members, who so love this little girl.
You are so well aware of all things and I pray that Your will be done in Rebecka, the family members, with the doctors and technicians and each one whose life touches them. Grant peace and assurance in Your omnipotence.
I echo the prayers already posted in this forum.
Jane
Rebecka I am praying that you and your family know that Jesus is with you all the way.
In Jesus precious name Amen
God Bless Ruth
Most precious Father, wrap your arms around this beautiful child as she goes into surgery tomorrow. Be the Dr's eyes and hands, Lord Jesus ans he performs the surgery on her kidney. I pray that any and all of those in the operating room would have their hearts turned toward you Father and will lift her up in prayer as the surgery takes place. I also ask Father that the peace that passes all understanding be upon the parents. Let your hand and your touch soothe their minds and hearts. In Jesus Name Amen.
Father, as I continue in prayer for this little one of Yours, I pray that you will comfort and guide this darling baby and her entire family.
I pray You will provide strength where it's needed, comfort at all times, and the true assurance that You are working in all, through all, and for all of Your children.
Please bring blessed peace and quiet to these grieving parents, and provide the wisdom and guidance and strength and skill needed for all who work with and for and on this this precious child.
In Your Son's blessed Name, I pray,
Amen
Oh, I must say a big "Amen!" to all of these prayers for Mick and Angela and the whole family circle.
I've been praying with each prayer posted, and will be praying tonight.

Oh, Heavenly Father, I lift my heart and voice in agreement with all the prayers here for this precious baby girl. Please guide and direct the doctors, nurses, technicians, and every person involved in her care. Give special wisdom and skill to them, and please wrap your arms around her and her entire family, giving that peace and comfort that only YOU can give.
Let the parents and brothers know that there are many around the world who are praying in agreement with them that little Rebecka will be spared and live to bless many lives, and be a testimony to Your love, grace and healing power.
In Jesus' name I pray,
Amen
Dear Father, in reading all of these prayers for little Rebecka, I know you are feeling our desire for you to help her in only the way you can help. Please give wisdom and strength to the surgeons, the nurses, the technicians and most of all to Rebecka's family as they await the results of this surgery. Lord, you made this little girl. You know all of the problems she has endured in her short little life. And You can make them right. Amen
I'll be setting my alarm so I'm up praying as she goes in to surgery!
Sara
I'll be praying as well, Sara, when she goes into surgery.
I know that Mick will let us know when he can as to how it goes.
I hope that you'll all take the time when you are able to read the topic on Photography Cafe just to see the terrible roller coaster ride this dear family has had.
What a precious darling baby Rebecka is! This must be such a trying time and great test of your faith as her parents. May God grant you peace in the midst of this unknown. I, too, will be up early and praying for you all in the morning as she goes into surgery.
God bless you and your family!
Just put Rebecka through the prayer chain at my church Mick. My parents (my dad's the pastor) are on vacation right now but I called them too and told them to pray.
Sara
Lord I pray for this family, I pray for little Rebecka, I pray that your hands be on the hands of the doctors when they go into surgery tomorrow afternoon. Lord we know that you see the sparrow when it falls, so we believe you see and are holding this little tyke in your hands at this moment while they are preparing to go into surgery in a few hours time. I pray that yu give her parents strength. I pray that you be with her brothers through this ordeal. At this time Lord you are the only one who knows the outcome of this operation that Rebecka is about to go through. I am praying for total healing in Your name Lord for little Rebecka. In your precious name, Amen.
Pat, if you can please pass on that I will continue to pray for little Rebecka until I read an update on her status after surgery. Thank you so much for alerting us to this need.
God bless,
Fraoch

Dear Mick and Angela:
I am praying and lifting up precious Rebecka to our Heavenly Father. I have prayed that her heart will be strong for the operation and that she will recover completely from the surgery. I will continue to pray until she is safe. Praise God because He is mighty and able to do exceeding abundantly more than we can ask or think!
Love Ruthie
We probably won't hear anything for a while yet. He told us that it would be evening before he'd even have internet access really because at the hospital they don't have it. I don't know if maybe he's on the road or because it was such a stressful day that when they got home he just crashed or what. I do hope they are able to get some sleep after a day like today. It is 5:00pm here in Oregon, so probably about 1:00 in the morning (Thursday) there. He sometimes gets online around now but I haven't seen him. I'm still praying and if Pat doesn't post, I'll post an update as soon as we get one.
Sara
Thank you Sara. We appreciate your help.
Thanks so much Sara. I knew I could count on you. They may be just staying at the hospital and I don't think that the hospital is in his town.
Yeah, it is in a different town. The hospital does provide them a room if they need it though they don't have anything like we do here with a Ronald McDonald house type thing.
Sara
My first thoughts this morning were prayers for this situation.
No news yet. It is almost 8 in the morning there as I am typing. I am hoping we will hear something before too long, but I don't know. It is impossible to guess what is going on by the wait. I have given him my phone number but he has to log on to get it unfortunately. I know he has Pat's, we'll just have to wait and see and keep praying. I am hoping beyond hope that no news is good news though.
Sara
Pat - have you heard anymore about this baby girl?
I'm alo praying for Pat's friend June who was admitted to the hospital.

NEWS FROM MICK!!!!
Hi Pat.
Just got back from Hospital.Everything went really well, and she is being very strong and fighting.
Will respond with better details later but at present i've just got back.
Mick
A post from Mick on Photography Cafe:
Hi Everyone.
She got through surgery without any problems, she is now sedated and on a ventilator to help her body just recover a bit.
She is doing well and there are no major concerns over her heart as yet.
Sorry for shortness,i've only just got back from hosp,as I spent last night there, and I also forgot to take Pats phone number with me.
Will inform better later, but so far all is OK.
Mick
WOOOHOOO!!! Well, that's how I'm feeling right now. Now, we need to pray that the operation will lower her blood pressure like they are hoping, and give her heart a break so that it can get stronger. I'm hoping that eventually he'll look at her and be amazed he ever did worry so much about her health because it is such a distant memory.
Sara
Yes, Sara...
We certainly have to keep praying for this darling little girl.
Thanks for those timely reminders! I know that Mick and Angela will be so happy to read these wonderful posts from this community.
Let's continue these prayers for Rebecka everyone!
Great news!!! Prayers are still continuing for this great couple and their little family!
Hi everyone.
I am Mick.
Thankyou very much for all your prayers for my Daughter Rebecka.I am humbled by your warmness and your willingness to pray for my young daughter.
Thankfully your prayers were answered in the best way possible. She survived surgery.
Also i've received even better news tonight, she is no longer under sedation and has had the ventilator removed. At 1st she didn't respond very well to this, but after being given oxygen and some adrenaline also some steroids, she has responded and has been awake for a little while and playing with rattles and baby toys.Hopefully this is the start of the road to recovery.
Once again thankyou for your prayers.
Regards
Mick
Thanks Mick for posting. I knew you'd be happy to see the posts in here.
You tell Angela that a lot of folks in cyberspace are rallying around to pray for your whole family.
Thank you for posting an update in here too Mick! I am just giddy knowing she's doing as well as she is. Couldn't have better news today to make it a good day.
Sara
Thank You so very much, dear Father, for Your mercy upon this couple and their beautiful child! And Father, I pray You'll continue to strengthen her and enable her someday to realize what blessing she has received. Oh help us all to thank You for Your wonderful mercy through our Lord Jesus Christ. AMEN!
I'll add my AMEN to Al's, in gratitude to our loving heavenly Father...
My prayers continue for all concerned.
Just catching up on things here. Mick, I've been following the news of your daughter at the Cafe, and we've been praying, and will continue to do so.
God's best to you and yours.
In His Grip,
Kevin
Praise the Lord! I cried when I just read the news. Such an awesome answer to prayer! Great great news! I'm so happy, I feel like dancing a jig. I will continue to pray for all involved, for a speedy recover for little Rebecka and that she will have no set backs.
If I could spell it, I'd should HALLELEUJAH!
As it is, I think our Lord who knows our hearts will agree that this is one very thankful Tennessean Grandma.
May His blessings and comfort and healing and peace surround each of you will be my continuing prayer.
Ruth Ann
Oh, what good news. This ends my day rejoicing. :)

Thank you Lord for listening to all these prayers on her behalf.
In Jesus name, amen.
Thank you Jesus for all that you have done and will continue to do for little Rebecka and her dear family.
Mick, my heart smiled as I read your report on your darling daughter, Rebecka! Just the news you deserve and thank God, He thinks you deserve that news also. May you continue receiving good news all through Rebecka's life.
Hi Everyone.
Todays news is quite good, she is now off the peadiatric intensive care unit, and has been transfered back to Nottingham City hospital, onto the High dependancy unit there. Her BP is still a little high, but nowhere near as high as it was before the operation. Her surgeon came round today to see how things where going, and he is very pleased with the progress that she is making, and thinks that her BP should settle down in a day or two.Only bad point about today is that her body has filled with fluid, but this is being dealt with by putting her on drug that makes you urinate rather a lot.
Regards
Mick
Once again thankyou very much for your prayers.
It's so awesome your wee one is doing so well, Mick! :) It's great to hear and I am sure that much more for you and Angela. My continued prayers are with all 3 of you. Take care! :)
Just wanted to say I will be praying for Rebecka and family - please keep us updated.
Also, the link I tried to follow, but it doesn't recognize my sign-in name - only on this page does it recognize it. :'(
Here's a picture of Rebecka and Daddy:
Hi folks.
Since I last posted she gave us a bit of a scare on Friday night, her BP shot up to 188.They quickly got it under control with drugs, she is now back on BP drugs but they only expect to be on them for a short time. They are now that impressed with her progress that she might be released within the next 2 to 3 days.
Regards
Mick
...And what a day of rejoicing that will be at your house, Mick! :)
Sorry about the scare concerning her blood pressure spiking but it is good that she is where it could be corrected so quickly. God is so good ....
Hello again, and thank you very much for your prayers.
Today we were given the good news that she was allowed,so now we are sat at home relaxing a little and listening to Rebecka's contented snores.
Thankyou everyone
Mick
Hallelujah. thankyou Jesus that Rebecka is now home.
Good news, indeed! I know you are all very happy and grateful for God's goodness.
Oh, Mick!
How wonderful, my friend. I bet you could stay in her room forever!
Give Angela a hug for me.
Thank you, God! You're in charge of this situation. You love this family and care for their health, and their needs, and even their wants!
In Thy Son's precious Name, we pray for continued healing for this little one of Yours, and that you will strengthen and guide these parents, with whom You've entrusted such a wonderful child.
Again, we give You all the praise and glory for Your marvelous works among us.
Amen.
Praise the Lord! How good is our God.
Mick, just wanted to let you know I was paying attention to you here AND on PC. :) It made me smile when you said you were just listening to her snores. What a wonderful thing to be able to listen to in your own home without the hospital background noises to get in the way. I hope and pray that she just continues to improve and amaze the doctors.
Sara
It was with tearful eyes that I heard the good news.
Hoping and praying for a speedy recovery and a bright and healthy future.
My heart is smiling for little Rebecka!
Update from Mick(Posted on Photography Cafe and he asked that I put it here for you all)

Yesterday we had to take her back to our local hospital,as she was showing signs of fluid retention, and had a very fast heart rate. After spending all day there, they released her at approx 8pm last night, with an appt to go to Leicester today for the Cardio speciallists to have a look at her.
So when we got there we saw the snr registrar, who wanted to do a chest xray and also an echo.Chest xray came back showing that fluid was building up on her lungs again, and the echo showed a slight deteriation in her heart condition,so he wanted to keep her in for 24hrs to just observe her.
When we got her on the ward the main cardio consultant came and saw us,and told us that she wants to take her off some drugs and put her on ther drugs, also she wants to put her under general anesthetic and do either a CT scan or an MRI.
So looks like she may now be in hospital again for atleast a week.
Quote from: Themightyimp on August 02, 2007, 05:29:32 PM
Hi
just had an update from Angela, the consultant did an echo earlier this evening and found things that the snr registrar missed. Her left ventrical isn't pumping strong enough due the hypertrophicness in her heart.
This has caused her liver to enlarge and has resulted in fluid retention. In the cardios words we have caught her in early stage heart failure.Fortunately a change of drugs and all should be ok,it now looks like CT and MRI might not be needed.
Mick
...and posted just now...

Hi
Today hasn't been a good day,in the last 24hrs she gained 200g in weight and now she is starting to swell, they've upped her frussie juice but so far it isn't working.
Mick
Oh My I am praying for her Mick.
I am praying for this little one and all her family, the doctors, the nurses and friends. God Bless this Little One.
Father, I agree in prayer with the others for Rebecka's complete healing and restoration of health. Bless her with a miraculous touch from our Great Physician's hand and grant supernatural wisdom and medical skills to any and all personnel involved with her treatment. Encourage her parents, let them be aware of Your superintending, loving presence continually, and see daily manifestations of Your grace in this situation.
We ask it in Jesus' Name, and thank you in advance for answering. Amen.
Update from Mick today:Quote from: Themightyimp on August 04, 2007, 06:44:30 PM
The latest news tonight is that if the frusemide doesn't start working overnight then they'll have to IV her to try and disperse the fluid.
They also now suspect that it is renal that is causing the high BP and Hypotrophic CM,Which could mean her other Kidney is now failing.
At the moment my head is just banging from one wall to the other.
Dear Father, wrap your loving arms around Mick and his wife and hold them tightly to your breast. Comfort their hearts and give them hope as only YOU can give. Bless this little family and, above all, place your mighty hand of healing on this precious little girl. 0:-)
Mick, I am also praying for your little daughter. It is beyond human understanding as to why these things happen to such little ones. I wish had some words to say that could make what you all are going to through easier but I can only ask our Heavenly Father to hold you all in the palm of his hand.
Hi everyone
Once again thankyou very much for your prayers and good wishes,it really has been one big rollercoaster ride of emotions since she 1st went into heartfailure at the age of 8-9 weeks of age.
Here is todays update.
Well it's been a good day and a bad day today.
I'll give the bad news first.
Due to them taking her off Digoxin and carvedillol and putting her on Atinalol instead, her body hasn't got used to the switch and she scared us today by having a BP spike at 169 over 117,fortunately it soon came down afterwards.
The good news is.
Her DCM has totally dissapeard she has full function on the DCM side.
On the HCM side we've been told that once they can find the cause of the high BP and rectify it,the HCM will more than likely completely go aswell.
They now suspect that it isn't actually her heart that's the problem there is an underlying problem that is causing such high BP which is making her heart react like this.
Mick.
Bless her darling little heart and soul. God, bless this little girl and her family. Thank you, God.
In Jesus' name, Father, I ask for you to make yourself known in a might way in this child's life. I ask for your healing power, and I ask for your grace. By no means do I understand why this is happening, but I know that You do. We trust You for the ultimate best answer, and I ask you to continue to show Your power in healing this child - whether miraculously or through the hands of the doctors.
Amen.
How important it is that we keep this family in your prayers.
Little Rebecka is just not well and I pray that the family are getting the needed rest and comfort that they need to look after Rebecka's brothers.
Oh, Pat. This breaks my heart. Thank you for reminding us to continue in prayer for this precious family. Nita
Father, You know our desires and our prayers long before we even express them. But we also know that Your infinite wisdom, love, grace, and mercy are much better than our prayers. Help Mick and all concerned to simply trust YOU, Father, and to rest upon You with peace. Oh give all of us grace to praise You for each and every thing You do in this little life. Thank You, Father.
I echo a loud AMEN to Al's prayer ...
Hi everyone.
We're now waiting for an MRI scan to try and get to the root of the problem.Only problem is that there is only one person skilled enough for what they want in this Country.

She is so cute. Lord I ask that you make a way for this MRI to happen very quickly.
Oh, Father, I pray this sweet little girl will soon be released from the pain and discomfort she has known all her young life ... Bring her to perfect health so that she will know complete joy and happiness with her loving family. Give wisdom to the medical staff and all who are looking for a solution to her condition. Soon.
Hello again everyone.
I've just re-read through this thread and am crying as I read though it.All the emotions of what we've been through came back in abundance.
Rebecka is now stable as regards her blood pressure, she will be on drugs for the foreseeable future to keep her BP in control.
Her Kidney did need to be removed,as it actually died while my wife(Angela)was 7 months pregnent.
The medics still have not found a true cause of her high BP,although they now have it fully controlled now with drugs.
Since her BP has been kept at a very good level by drugs, her heart has made a complete recovery, and is now working aswell as any childs of her age.
So long as her BP is controllable we should never have to go through this again.
Thankyou so much for your prayers, all I can say is that GOD works in mysterious ways.
God Bless You All
Mick.
Thank you Mick for posting in here to let everyone know. You certainly have been thought of so very much and prayed for regularly.
God is good. Will continue to pray, Mick!
Kevin in Japan
Thanks, Mick, for stopping by with this update. Still praying for the whole family.
