Post by: light_catcher on February 12, 2008, 09:55:39 PM
Hi All,

My wife Gloria had surgery back in October for colon cancer. they removed the cancer, but now she wears a colostomy bag. they found a spot "Stage 4 cancer" on her liver and is undergoing chemotherapy. they will be doing a Catscan again soon. Pray that it is all gone, and they will put her colon back together. and my wife will be praising His Holy Name!

God Bless you all.

Oh my goodness.  I'm so sorry she's going through this (and you too).  Is she having a hard time keeping her spirits up?  Do please keep us up to date.  I know that having a colostomy bag can be disheartening to people.  Is she tolerating the chemo well enough?  Be sure to let us know after the next catscan please.  I will be praying for her.

Father, pour out Your peace and love and blessings on Mitch and Gloria as they walk this pathway ... increase their faith and help them to trust fully in Your Omniscience ... be very near them, and all concerned with their care ... let them rest in Your arms of love, and find comfort.

Father, I pray for Mitch and Gloria.  I know You love them with an everlasting love as Your children through Jesus our Lord.  I pray that You will heal Gloria and glorify Yourself in and through her.  I also pray You will draw them closer than ever to Yourself, and that You will use this entire experience to perfect their committment to You.  Oh do these things, Father, through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Hello Mitch,

When I read about your wife I can say I can feel and share your pain. My wife has had Multiple Sclerosis (MS), Cron's Disease and a disfunctional liver for the past 20+ years. Her MS has been getting progressively worse to the point where she is confined to home and a motorized chair. Since Christmas 2007, she was hospitalized 3 times for bowel obstructions caused by the Crone's disease that now has become active.

She had surgery in April and was told that she had Stage 3 small bowel cancer; which according to the surgeon and her gastroentrologist is very rare. Hers was the third case for both doctors. They both have been practicing in their specialities for 18 years.

So we too are undergoing chemo therapy. I hope your wife has not had the severe side effects that my wife has experienced. Some of which had her in the hospital for 11 days.

At this point she can't stay at home by herself because she has fallen because of the MS and being weak from the chem treatment. She has to have someone with her at all times while I am at work.

So now for the good news...

First, I want you to know that there are many Christians praying for you and your wife. I (we) couldn't get through the rough times with our Christian friends praying with us.

Second, because my wife can't be alone many of our ladies at our congregation have volunteered to stay with her. Some of them are our younger ladies. This has given my wife an opportunity to talk to them about the Lord, how God can help them in raising their families and over coming their various trials and the list goes on...

It is said where God closes a door He opens a window. I think it is more like where He closes a window He opens a door.

God bless you and your wife.

In His service,

Earl

(Papasmirf)

P.S. Thank you for allowing me to share.

What a lovely post to Mitch, Earl.  I'm sorry about your wife as well but it's so wonderful how the Lord uses these circumstances.

I do pray that Mitch and Gloria are doing well.

Hopefully Mitch will come in and let us know soon.

Hi Mitch,
I am saddened to hear about your wife and what you are both going through, I join the others in prayer for her remembering that the word tells us that if two people agree as touching anything that it will be given to them.
I remember a quote from Joyce Meyers, "You can not be more than a conquerer if you have not had something to conquer"
I pray for peace, Joy, strength, and most importantly Healing to be imparted to your wife, I pray as Marilyn did, that the very roots of this cancer will dry up, and join her in cursing it.
I also pray that your finances will not suffer from this attack from the enemy, and that everything that he tries to take away will be restored in the mighty name of Jesus which is above every name even cancer.  Amen

We will continue to hold your family up in prayer...
