Psalm 150
This is the grand finale. As such its words are quite appropriate! Here the word "hallelu" ("Let us praise") occurs 13 times in six verses. The song begins and ends with "hallelujah" ("Let us praise Jehovah"). It's as though the psalmist, looking around him, realized that all creation was praising God by its very existence, and he was filled with joyous, spontaneous, and exuberant agreement! He wanted it to continue and increase, and he wanted all the musicians and all the musical instruments of Israel to join in!
What we see here, then, is the response of a truly living soul, a soul that has seen and experienced the "mighty acts" and the "excellent greatness" of God. We could rightly call it "The response of the spiritually living to God's glory." Are you spiritually living?
Do you feel at least a little surge of joy as you read it? Is yours a responsive heart? Do you want to join the universal choir? Every born-again heart will have that desire. If it doesn't strike you that way, then perhaps you need God's regenerating power in your heart today.
Al Moak...
Haven't read this yet, Al but I really wondered what it would be like when we got to 150!!!
You've done such a wonderful job!
