Title: Heart Healthy Chicken Soup
Post by: Marilyn on December 13, 2005, 08:22:10 PM
Heart Healthy Chicken Soup is not for the faint hearted, it contains hot stuff. Marilyn's personal creation

Heart Healthy Chicken Soup

1 med. Chicken Breast cubed
1 med. carrot sliced
1/2 med white onion diced
4 whole cloves garlic
1 can chicken broth
1 can water
1 can garbanzo beans
a few dashes of sea salt to taste
1/4 teas cayenne pepper
1/2 teas. curry powder
2 Tbls. Olive oil

Saute the Chicken cubes, onion, and garlic in  the olive oil. add the rest of the ingredients and simmer for about 35 minutes until carrots are crunchy soft.

I happen to like Cayenne pepper and  Curry this is the first time I have used both in the same dish, very good for the heart as both spices and the garlic will help to lower the LDL cholesterol levels if you  use them frequently. You can adjust the Cayenne and the curry to your taste. You may like it hotter so add more.  You can also increase the amounts of everything else as this is only a small amount approximately 3-4 servings
