Celebratng a good lift. Three white lights.

Well done for capturing that look of triumph.  Every aspect of the picture shows action.

Another great one.  What does "three white lights" mean?

This is a lifter named Sarah Davis. She lifts in the 53 kilogram (116 lb.) weight class. She is the current national champion. Here she was clean and jerking almost double her bodyweight. I am a national level Masters Division lifter (35 years old- 39years ld. Shhh. Dont tell anyone) myself.

Durring competition there are three judges that judge if the lift is a good lift or not. The white lights on the scoreboard indicate if the lift is good. Red lights mean that the lift wasnt good. Three white lights mean that the lift was good by unanimous decision. Two white lights and one red mean the lift is good by majority decision. Two red lights and one white light means that the lift was no good by majority decision. Three red lights means no lift by unanimous decision.

I am the unofficial photographer for the club that puts on the meet at the Arnold Sports Festival in Columbus Ohio. One of the reasons why I chose to post this is because I wanted to debunk a stereotype. Many people think that if you lift competitively or if you are super strong and you are a woman you are going to look masculine. If you saw this girl in plain clothes you wouldnt know she is that strong. My wife is a lifter too. She is very feminine  <3.
