First of all, Neal, I'm not a great critiquer (is that a word?) but I must say, it's a lovely image. I know very little about infra red photography. As far as the composition is concerned, for me, I think I'd like to have the big old tree that is at the top left maybe cropped out. It seems a natural place to do it so that the bride then would be more prominent.
I like how the bride is off centre slightly. It really is a nice photo but as I said, I'm not an expert on infrared.
(By the way, I've been wondering how you've been doing. Nice to see you back and let's see more of your work.)

Truth be told, I'm not very good at critique, but I will do my best :)
Infra-red work is something I've been meaning to try, and this is urging me to do so SOON! I love how the bride is off-centre in the frame, and the way the bushes now complement her dress beautifully - they almost look like clouds or snowdrifts - just lovely.
The tree in the top left distracts me somewhat, however -- because it's so much darker than the other objects in the frame, it tends to draw my eye up and away from the bride and her immediate surroundings. Maybe a slight crop to eliminate it?
I still think it's a beautiful portrait, and I love the originality of using infra-red technique on wedding photos! :thumbsup:

I really like the idea of using IR with a bride. Gives it that much more of a fairy-tale feel. I would crop the shot to the top of the smaller tree/bush under the dark tree. She looks fairly comfortable with the shot and is a beautiful girl. If I could be really nit-picky I'd have moved her flowers to her other hand so that they showed instead of being in front of a bush. I'm NOT one for critiquing on the technique of IR...never having done it. I don't know if it would really have been possible even to keep her dress from blowing out. Do you have another shot maybe that wasn't IR you could blend with it so that her dress at least around the chest area doesn't have the bright white that draws your eyes directly there? :) Especially with a bride you don't want to have your eyes head straight to the chest but rather the face. ;)
I must say though, you have sold me on IR with portraits. I'm going to have to see about getting myself something so I can try it out.
