Title: my family
Post by: love.bears.all on November 02, 2007, 10:08:16 PM
Well, you all gave me such a warm welcome, I thought I'd let you meet my family.  After you click the thread, just go into the first album.  It says My Family.  We just took it tonight.

I am open to any and all comments on how to improve this image.  I am trying to learn how to use the external flash, and could use some help.  I used a reflector as well, but we were so deep in the shade, there really wasn't much light from it.

Thanks everyone!!

What a lovely photo!!!

You could post it right here in this topic if you like.  Just put the URL and then put the image tags before and after it.

Is that your son and daughter?  If so, you don't look old enough for a son that age!!!

Pat, yes, those are mine!!  I am 33, going to be 34 in December.  The question is, how old do you think he is?

Now, I'd love to do what you said about the picture, but I'm confused as to how to do that.  Of what URL are you speaking?

OK  I went to your page here:

http://athousandwordsphotography.myphotoalbum.com/view_photo.php?set_albumName=album13&id=IMGP14431102_8X10

I RIGHT clicked on top of the photo there but got a message saying that the owner won't let me get the URL of that photo.  :(

If I could, I'd put it in here so that we could view the photo without going offsite.

Pat,

We were posting at the same time.  I figured it out!!  Thanks!!!

I actually use this site for my customers, so that's why I have the right click disabled, trying to avoid copyright issues :(

Thanks Pat!

Like I said, I'm not afraid to hear suggestions for improvement.  I am trying to learn, and this is how I learn.  My friend's family looked it over and suggested the fact that my pose differs from my daughters is not quite right.  I think things like that may just be a matter of opinion, but I still like to put them in the back of my mind for future reference.  I personally like us posed differently, so I'm gonna leave it.  Well, I may be more willing to re shoot if my family were a bit more cooperative lol.  Family pictures around tend to be a bit stressful.  I have a 12 sec. timer, and I have to run in and set myself, but of course I try to frame the shot before I am even in it!!  :D  I'm lucky to get what I get, but I know if I asked them to, they'd reshoot.

I thought it was cute that you're sitting on your husband and your daughter sitting on your son!  (He still looks too old to be your son)

I recently got the Nikon D80 and I'm still playing with it trying to figure out the settings, etc.  Just wish I had more time.

Thanks!  I like the pose a lot.  We had more fun with this than with family sessions of years gone by  :bash:  Their usually pretty stressful.

I am a Pentax user myself.  Never tried Nikon or Cannon, but wouldn't mind upgrading if that's the Lord's plan.

Oh, and my son is 14.  I did have him pretty young, but people usually think he is older than he actually is.
