Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Janet

Yesterday a few members of our chapter of the Red Hat Society visited the Care Home for their Ladies' Tea.  We wore our red hats, purple clothes, and accessories, and brought any extra things we have.  After we told them about the Red Hats, what we do, etc., we read them some funny poems, etc, and then I gave each one a red rose with purple ribbons on it.  We then put the red hats, boas, scarves, necklaces, and thing on the ladies.  We had to take off our own so each lady would have a hat and something else.  As you can see from all these big smiles, the ladies enjoyed it a lot!  It was fun to be able to brighten up their day, and we plan to do it again.

This first one is my Mom, who is 88 years old, will be 89 in May.

Doesn't this one look regal?  ;D ;D

Here is Edith, in the red plaid..  She worked in the courthouse for many years, and is the mother of one of Darrel's classmates.  I don't know the other lady's name.

Two more smiling ladies, enjoying our visit and getting to play dress-up!

Don't you love these cheerful colors?  How could they not make you smile?

Doesn't she look pretty?

This is Nora.  She has lived at Western Prairie Care Home for many years, since she was in her early thirties.  When they put the red hat on her and showed her the mirror, she opened her eyes real wide!  :o

Here is Lois.  I have known her for many years, too.  Very nice lady.

A view down the table at the ladies...........

And the other table.................

My great niece is visiting here this week, she is a  high school senior, and my sister talked her into dressing up and coming along.  She  had as much fun as the older ladies!  Here we are, along with Mom.

This is my sister Jeanie and me.

And..........THAT'S ALL, FOLKS!   ;D ;D ;D

Those are awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

I thought you looked a little like your mom, but your sister looks even more like her!

Sonifo

Janet, that is so neat.  I purchased hats just like that at Walmart for a buck.  Don't you just love the colors purple and red together?

Janet

SONI, I WANT TO GO SHOPPING WITH you!  WISH I COULD FIND SOME RED HATS FOR ONLY A BUCK!  Oops, sorry, I didn't mean to shout!  :-[

Thanks, Pat, Marilyn and Karma.  And, Karma, I don't look like my Mom at all, but Jeanie does.  I look more like my Dad's side of the family.

Great pictures, Janet.  What a nice thing to do and the ladies look so happy in their hats!  I expecially like the pictures of you and your family.  Do you know that your face radiates that 'special' Christian happiness?  Makes one want to smile too.....

That is so sweet of you to say, Liz.  I never like pictures of myself, but thank you so much.

Janet, I think you are very photogenic and I really liked the pictures of your family, especially your mother.  It looks like she really enjoyed the day.  I just scrolled back and saw all of the other photos.  I almost missed them as I had come here from the link and it went to your family photos.  Everyone be sure you scroll from the top of the page as there are many lovely ladies enjoying this event.

Janet, I remember there was a lady in the nursing home where my folks were in Iowa who had been there since her early 40's, some 30 years or more.  She passed away after my mother did.

Etta Sue

I wish I could go with Ivalou and take pictures of her Red Hat Society.  All the ladies look like they are having so much fun playing 'dress up'!  Thanks, Janet.

WinterRose

WOW ... wonderful pictures and I love the scarves too ... I want one but I am not yet at the age where I can be a MEMBERĀ  :'( so I will have to wait a few more years ... BUMMER !!

Janet ... LOOKING GOOD GIRL !!

Janet

Karen, you can join now, as a Pink Hatter.  They go to the things the Red Hats have, and wear lavender clothes.  Then, when you turn 50, you get to have a "reduation!"  I wish we had some younger members, because that sounds like a fun thing to do!

Thanks so much, Larry.  I didn't realize I had the link wrong.  And thanks for the nice compliments, too.  Everybody had a good time, and that's what it's all about.

Etta Sue, why doin't you just join Ivalou's chapter?  Then you can go and take all the pictures you want!  I know some chapters are closed, only because when they get too large, it makes eating out together and such a problem.

Great pictures and what fun all of you are having shows on your faces. :) :)

Thanks for the pictures you always bring to this site..even though I don't get here very often any more.

Access to my computer at home sometimes is limited  and at work hardly ever.

I agree with the others, Janet, that you are very photogenic.  I love your smile and I was going to say that for a little while, maybe a profile photo with your red hat on would be a change?

I've been thinking I need a new picture, Pat.  But I don't know how to do the signature ones.

Thanks for the lovely compliments.  :-[ :)
