Me with the rest of the team that went in prison this past weekend.  God showed up and showed off!  A truly remarkable weekend.

God showed up and showed off.  Love it!  I always love it when God shows Himself in ways that brings glory only to Him. :)

I know you were so blessed.

I know most (if not all) of you are familiar with the Walk to Emmaus or Cursillo or Tres Dias weekends.  Residents Encounter Christ is modeled after that.  It's a powerful, Christ-center event that provides a evangelical tool to reach folks that, by and large, society has forgotten about.  REC and Kairos (another similar program) are the hands and feet of Christ for three glorious days of sharing the good news, good food, good music provided by some very talented people, GREAT fellowship, and a lot of fun.  On this particular REC, we were all blessed with an international opera tenor to head up our music team.  No one knew it at the time because, well... how many people are really into opera and the top tenors?  He cleared a MONSTER of a schedule to share his enormous talent with us.  He humbled himself to come in anonymity and sing songs that were clearly not of his genre and did it without any ego involved.  Everyone saw Christ in him.  Bear in mind, this was his very first time behind the wire.  His final gift to us was "The Lord's Prayer" delivered in his "true" voice.  It was at that point I had a hunch this was no ordinary Joe.  It blew everyone away!  We struck up a pretty good friendship and on the way home I mentioned to my wife how much I like Dan and she agreed he was "special".  After getting home, I did a search on him and I'm sure you can imagine how my jaw dropped when I found out about him!  Anyways, it was good fishin' and we have SEVERAL new brothers in Christ!  BTW, he is the second guy kneeling.  The one in front of the lady in dark pink.

When God does something in a persons heart and they "let" Him have His way miracles happen.  Thank you for letting us be part of this even in hearing what happened.   May God be with you all as you continue to minister to these folks.
