Morning Devotional...
Whatever
"Whatever!" How many times have you heard (or used) that phrase? Usually, it is in a moment of frustration when you just know you are right, but no one seems to catch on. So, in exasperation, you mutter (or yell) "Whatever!". End of discussion. No more arguments. No more thoughts.
Admittedly, that single word has probably ired more than one on the receiving end.
BUT, let's change our perspective. When does God say, "Whatever."
He does say it you know.
In Philipians. Chapter 4, verse 8.
"...whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever, is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable -- if anything is excellent or praiseworthy -- think about such things"
What are you thinking today? Is it whatever?

Good morning! Late night last night but the show at Beef and Boards was great. I was a little leery about it at first...a little racy. But it was great. Only four actors/singers. Really something to see how they changed in looks just by changing hairstyles and clothes! The nerd was really nerdy and the bride was beautiful!

Thank you Karma for the devotional on Whatever. Philipians 4:8 has been one I have used a lot to clear my mind of bad thoughts.

We have had freezing rain today, still raining, a real yucky day. There was a truck accident on the highway. I always am concerned about those drivers, they have a hard job without the weather going against them. In trucking 2 seasons, winter and construction.
The girls have a snow day. Woohoo. They are always happy about snow days. We get more than they do down south, I wonder if Ruth got a snow day today? I don't think this weather system goes that far south.
That verse that Karma quoted is one of my favourites. It dispels gloom and doom. Someone I am close to is a very negative person and I quote this verse and I see a more positive attitude. This also stops gossip. If we think on the godly things we have no room for gossip. Thanks Karma.

Been busy lately...thanks for all the input on the resizing. My two older sons sat down and muddled through it and the resizing did the trick. Thanks again for your help!
We had an exciting New Years eve, six days without power. But we were blessed with hot water, candles and a campstove, so we did fine.

Melaura's heart is aching this afternoon. We have lost another pup. She was the sweet little "runt". Be praying for her (Melaura). We had decided to keep her, and now....... there are tears being shed.
Still freezing rain out here. dull dreary weather. Elizabeth has just come in from playing outside. She is WET!! LOL

So we can trust the Lord even if the clouds seem to surround us this day-God will reach you with his faithfulness.
JudyB, I'm so sorry you lost another pup. I know how my daughter would feel, and she's grown. There'd be tears all around here. Tell Melaura that we understand and our hearts and prayers are with her.

Damp, dull and dreary. That pretty much sums up conditions on the island. Rain is pouring down, Misty is trying to dry off in the garage and is too woodsy to allow into the house....ah, such is life!
Had to go into town for a dr. appointment, shopping, etc. Combine it with Wendy's Physio. treatment and get to go by car. Will be so happy when sunny days are here again. Have taken to drinking hot choc.. :coffee:, tea by the gallon, anything to ward off the chilly weather.
Not much is new, since have not been doing anything worth writing about. Watching the poll results on the upcoming election. As boring as the folks telling all the tall tales! Wonder what would happen if their nose's grew..... ;)

God was looking down at Earth on New Year's Eve and saw all the rascally behavior that was going on. He decided to send an angel down to Earth to check things out.
When the angel returned, he told God, "Yes, it is bad on Earth; 95% are misbehaving and only 5% are not."
God thought for a moment and said," Maybe I had better send down another angel for a second opinion."
When that angel returned, he went to God and said, "Yes, it's absolutely true. The Earth is in a ravaging decline! Ninety-five % are misbehaving and only 5% are being good."
God was not pleased. So He decided to e-mail the 5% that were good, because He wanted to encourage them and give them a little something to help them keep going! Do you know what the E-mail said?
Just wondering. I didn't get one either.

Hi, friends,
I'm thankful to be home. The day at work was so slow I had to LOOK busy. However, it gave me plenty of time for self-study in some of the finer points of Excel - something that's almost unheard-of - to have the time to learn a bit more than is necessary to get the job done.
Then, our business systems coordinator was in Nashville, so we had dinner. I don't drive a whole lot at night anymore, but was very careful and stayed in the right hand lane all the way home. Thank God for traveling mercies - even for short trips such as going from work to home.
