Morning Devotional...

If Christ be preached that He rose from the dead, how say some among you that there is no resurrection of the dead?
1 Cor.  15:12

The core of apostolic preaching was the bodily resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ.

When this passage was written, the declaration was 30 years old and well circulated throughout the world. Undoubtedly much critical investigation had been provoked and the skeptical researchers had aired their oppositions.

Yet Paul boldly speaks out in defense of this radiant truth. Consider the number and quality of the witnesses of this event--the price they paid for their stand.

It is evident that He lives, the Man in the glory, to preside over the entitlements of those who love Him.

CHRIST AROSE
(Click to hear music)

Author:  Robert Lowry, 1826-1899
Musician:  Robert Lowry, 1826-1899

Low in the grave He lay,
Jesus, my Savior!
Waiting the coming day,
Jesus, my Lord!

Chorus:
Up from the grave He arose,
With a mighty triumph o'er His foes;
He arose a victor
From the dark domain,
And He lives forever
With His saints to reign.
He arose! He arose!
Hallelujah! Christ arose!

Vainly they watch His bed,
Jesu, my Savior!
Vainly they seal the dead,
Jesus my Lord!

Chorus:

Death cannot keep his prey,
Jesus, my Savior!
He tore the bars away,
Jesus my Lord!

Chorus:

April 17.

Fifteen years ago our Mother passed away.

You know there are still times that I see a new born kitten, or a raspberry patch and I go to lift the phone and call her.

The thunder is rolling outside.  We are to have rain for the next 3 days.  We need it.  I was visiting a friend Friday and her flower garden is dust.

Well I watched a good movie on TV and it is late.  I am off to bed

Good night/morning

GOODMORNING ALL 10.39 in Holland

PAT thank you very much for the devotional this morning and the very great hymn yesterday and this morning.

SONJA have a nice time with Mike's dad.

I thank you all for the lovely words to me about the death from our neighbour. Tuesday morning at 9.30AM is the cremation. But it is so strange i have only been on funerals and cremations from Christian people
then there is a pastor but now not. Yesterday i have a long time been with here but it is difficult she ask from where have you get the power to care this or are you so strong. I say no i am not strong but i have my believe in God and He has me give Power i also was very sad that are we also when some one from our dears is gone but i have also in that time feel the Power of God and i know where my first husband is and we also are missing our dears but we know where they are. But our neighbour it is so difficult.I only can pray for here. She is crying the hole days and nights. Yesterday have the doctor here something give so that she will be a little bit calm but that is not helping. And she say to me for us there is no God it is so terrible.

Yesterday we have had awesome weather we have a lot been outsite. But today it is not so sunny And i have been away on my bike that will i every day do for my diet. And no sweats more and no chocolate that is also better for me i have also chlorestorol and that can be dangerous. But the first pound is away it must also not go to soon. But sometimes it is difficult.

Philippians 4 : 11,13
I have learned to be content whatever
the circumstances. I can do everything
through Him who gives me strength.

             TRUE  CONTENTMENT

                           Lord,
                 grant me true contentment...
acceptance of what each day brings,
joy in You and not in things.

Love and prayerfully
RIA

Ruth Ann Bice

Ria,

I'm also really saddened to learn that your neighbor is having such a terrible time with her bereavement.

I thought of my own period of grief following my husband's death. I feel so badly for your friend because she does not have the hope we learn about in Ephesians:

Ephesians 4:

13 But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.
14  For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.
15  For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.
16  For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
17  Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
18  Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

I truly AM comforted by these words from the Scriptures.

Ruth Ann
...his compassions fail not.  They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.

Hi everyone and happy birthday Heather.

It is a glorous day here in Georgia and suppose to get up to 80 degrees this afternoon.  No clouds in the sky.

After yesterday, I plan a pretty quiet day to rest up a bit and prepare for tomorrow.

Carol, spilling a gallon of paint sounds like a nightmare.  Glad you were able to get it all cleaned up and glad that you were able to laugh about it.  Sounds like one of those things where you can either laugh or cry.

Ria, it is a one day at a time thing on a diet.  There are so many good things to tempt us.

I have to admit that I really don't understand the game of hockey so seldom watch it.  Years ago I had a lady who worked for me that was an avid hockey fan and attended all of the games for the Washington, DC hockey team.

Hope everyone has a nice day.

karmat

Good morning all!  I've got a couple of minutes while Bernard and Travis eat their breakfast.

Ria, I am praying for your neighbor.  May God's grace, mercy and love seem real at this time.

gotta run for now.  Have an awesome weekend, all ya'll!!

Good Morning everyone. Thanks you Pat for the devotional this morning.

Ria It is so sad when one tells you that "there is no God" . Sometimes I just want to say "well how do you think the earth was made and where did you come from" but those things you can not say to someone who is grieving.

I have posted an urgent prayer request and the newspaper article that tells about it in prayers. I got a request last night to pray for the young man.

Ruth Ann I do hope you have rested up from all the hours you worked this past week. So nice to hear your voice and have a nice chat  Thrusday night.

Jane if you are looking in I will be calling you later. You be careful with that arm, don't you dare overdo. Accept all the help you can get.

Hi Larry It seems like I always forget to say hello to you. so Hello Larry

Judyb still praying for your family, I have missed seeing you on here. Your posts have been few and short. Have fun with the new puppies when they come.

Gareth ~ Yes!  More of London.  I love cyber-tours!

Larry ~ Well, Buddy was my brother's canine so that makes Buddy my canine nephew.  When they took vacations, Buddy stayed with me.  I think my B and SIL were jealous because Buddy was always so excited when he saw me.  When they put him in the car to come to my house, they would get to certain areas and HE knew where he was going.  He would get so excited and as soon as the door was open, he darted out and raced for my door.  I miss him.

Rachelle ~ Thanks for taking a look-see at my DIL's pictures.  Deer aren't very populated here but are more than, say, 10 years ago.  This one was so tame.  They looked for it yesterday but didn't see a deer.

Carol ~ I got my old paint cans out and was doing touch-up on my walls, baseboards and heat registers and thought of the same thing...about spilling the paint on my carpets.  But I didn't have a whole can...just about 2-inches in the bottom.  I can only imagine how hard that would be to clean up!!!

HOCKEY???  BASEBALL?????  NO, IN THE MIDWEST IT IS BASKETBALL!!!!!!!

Marilyn ~ You go, gal!  You are getting very crafty with your graphics!  I think I have forgotten all I learned.  Sunrises/sunsets?  Take a picnic and a book to the shore...read until sunset!!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, HEATHER!!!

If any of you haven't seen my daughter-in-laws pictures of her backyard experience the other day, here is the link..... http://christianphotographers.com/community/index.php?topic=2690.msg46317#msg46317

I have all my windows open....the cats are running from window to window.  It is to get in the 80's today and tomorrow.  Spring has sprung!!!  The sod farmer has really been cutting sod for about 3 weeks now.  He goes out with a huge load of sod on his flat bed every day.  His huge 4000 sq. ft. house is probably paid for now!  And his RV and his new luxury car!!

Hi Everyone!

Yes, Judy, 15 years!  Sometimes it seems longer but I remember every detail as if it were yesterday.

It's great to see you all here today.  It's a rainy day here in Guelph.  I wanted to rake my lawn today but I'll have to find something else to do to get into mischief!  LOL

I have laundry to do and some vacuuming.

Also, have my Avon order to do.

Hello to you all and I'll be back.

Hi all, will be in Manchester this week.  I will try and take a few photos whilst I am there.

Happy Birthday Heather.

Whats Hockey?  Bad Joke... My brother played it for several years, mainly because he is short for a South African and would end up being mistaken for a rugby ball if he played rugby.  He know cycles and I am not sure that is any safer, SA drivers are notoriously bad and seldom see bicycles or if they do, they ignore them.

Ria, I am sure you are in the right place at the right time for your neighbours family.  Your love will be a greater witness than all the words any person could utter.  For most people the closest they will ever come to know Jesus is when they come to know us Christians that is why we must learn to walk the talk.

Finally I've had the opportunity to spend some time catching up.  I've been away for three days and what a lot of reading!

Larry, I hope I have the chance to celebrate with my parents their 50th and 60th anniversaries.  Their 40th was special and one I will remember for a while!

Pat, Ruthie all I can say is GO LEAFS GO! I am staying positive........the Leafs will win the Stanley Cup!

Ria, I agree!  Weight loss/control is not easy, and it becomes more difficult with every passing year.

And now that I've spent the better part of the day reading and looking at the wonderful photos while listening to some great music, I think I must get some chores done.

Have a great day everyone!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY HEATHER
April 17

Prayer: Prayer Changes the Man

And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father
may be glorified in the Son. If you ask anything in My name, I
will do it.
--John 14:13-14

In all our praying, however, it is important that we keep in mind
that God will not alter His eternal purposes at the word of a man.
We do not pray in order to persuade God to change His mind. Prayer
is not an assault upon the reluctance of God, nor an effort to
secure a suspension of His will for us or for those for whom we
pray. Prayer is not intended to overcome God and "move His arm."
God will never be other than Himself, no matter how many people
pray, nor how long nor how earnestly.

God's love desires the best for all of us, and He desires to give
us the best at any cost. He will open rivers in desert places,
still turbulent waves, quiet the wind, bring water from the rock,
send an angel to release an apostle from prison, feed an
orphanage, open a land long closed to the gospel. All these things
and a thousand others He has done and will do in answer to prayer,
but only because it had been His will to do it from the beginning.
No one persuades Him.

What the praying man does is to bring his will into line with the
will of God so God can do what He has all along been willing to
do. Thus prayer changes the man and enables God to change things
in answer to man's prayer.
The Price of Neglect, pp. 51-52

"Eternal God, I realize that I am in no position to tell You how
to run Your universe--or even my tiny corner of it. Yet somehow
You have given me the awesome privilege of communing with You,
bringing my requests, and waiting upon You to bring my will in
line with Yours. Then somehow You work in answer to my prayer!
Thank You. Amen."

I think that this is so important for all of us to remember as well in Dr. Tozer's devotional today...

Here's one that we haven't sung for awhile.  As we consider tomorrow's services in our churches where we'll be worshipping Him, this is a good hymn to sing as we remember what and how He died on the cross for us...

BEHOLD, BEHOLD THE LAMB OF GOD
(Click for music)

By Joseph Hoskins

Behold, behold the Lamb of God,
On the cross, on the cross!
He sheds for you his precious blood
On the cross, on the cross!
O hear his all important cry,
"Eli, lama sabachthani;"
Draw near and see your Savior die
On the cross, on the cross!

Behold his arms extended wide
On the cross, on the cross!
Behold his bleeding hands and side
On the cross, on the cross!
The sun withhold his rays of light,
The heavens are clothed in shades of night,
While Jesus doth with devils fight
On the cross, on the cross!

Come, sinners, see him lifted up
On the cross, on the cross!
For you he drinks the bitter cup
On the cross, on the cross!
The rocks do rend, the mountains quake,
While Jesus doth atonement make,
While Jesus suffers for our sake
On the cross, on the cross!

And now the mighty deed is done
On the cross, on the cross!
The battle's fought, the victory's won
On the cross, on the cross!
To heaven he turns his dying eyes;
'Tis finished! now the Conqueror cries;
Then bows his sacred head and dies
On the cross, on the cross!

Where'er I go I'll tell the story
Of the cross, of the cross!
Of nothing else my soul shall glory
Save the cross, save the cross!
Yea, this my constant theme shall be
Through time and in eternity,
That Jesus tasted death for me
On the cross, on the cross!

Let every mourner rise and cling,
To the cross, to the cross!
Let every Christian come and sing,
Round the cross, round the cross!
There let the preacher take his stand,
And, with the Bible in his hand,
Declare the triumphs through the land,
Of the cross, of the cross![/color]

Good afternoon all you lovely people!  ;D

The tulips are up about two inches, the daffodils and grape hyacinths almost three, and the crocuses are blooming.  And today it got up to 76 sunny degrees.  But now the clouds have thickened and off to the northeast the sky is black!  The forecast is for possible thunder showers and it looks possible.  From now on until fall I guess I'll be ready to shut down and unplug at a moment's notice - that's how things go around here.   ;D

Now I have to go dig out some of my sunrise/sunset photos.

I have a nice sunset photo that Jenny sent me, I wonder I  can post that and should I put it in her name.

I have taken the dogs out for walks and now they have settle down somewhat. Such a beautiful day and they just want to run. Happydog tried to drag me for a walk, Gilbert said I need a skateboard.  lol ::)

There is a Pow Wow going on over at the university today and otmorrow, I would like to go but would prefer to have someone with me no fun alone. The kids were over there and called me then they came home. So much for a family outing.

DOWN FROM HIS GLORY
(Click to hear music)

Down from His glory, ever living story,
My God and Savior came, and Jesus was His name;
Born in a manger to His own a stranger,
A man of sorrows, tears and agony!

Chorus
Oh how I love Him!  How I adore Him!
My breath, my sunshine, my all in all!
The great Creator became my Savior,
And all God's fullness dwelleth in Him!

What condescension, bringing us redemption,
That in the dead of night, not one faint hope in sight,
God gracious, tender laid aside His splendor,
Stooping to woo, to win, to save my soul!

Chorus
Oh how I love Him!  How I adore Him!
My breath, my sunshine, my all in all!
The great Creator became my Savior,
And all God's fullness dwelleth in Him!

Without reluctance, flesh and blood His substance,
He took the form of man, revealed the hidden plan;
O glorious myst'ry sacrifice of Calv'ry!
And now I know He is the great "I AM"!

Chorus
Oh how I love Him!  How I adore Him!
My breath, my sunshine, my all in all!
The great Creator became my Savior,
And all God's fullness dwelleth in Him!
