Morning Devotional...[Abraham] went. . . to Bethel. . . where his tent had been at the beginning. . . unto the place of the altar, which he had made there at the first: and there Abram called on the name of the Lord. Gen. 13:3-4
Abraham made a terrible mistake when he went down into Egypt. It was there that he denied his relationship with his wife, lied to Pharaoh, and was rebuked by the heathen monarch for his deceit.
However, Abraham knew that the road to recovery lay in retracing his steps to Bethel, where he first set up and built his altar.
So it is in our lives.
When we wander from the path, we must return to exactly where we started, to revisit where we went wrong, and to be restored to fellowship with God.
--W. H. BurnettHow oft when wandering far away,
Thy care has hedged up all our way,
So bidding us return and live,
and learn how much Thou canst forgive.
Man God is SO GOOD!!! Today I woke up and really started the day off bad. None of my family really said a word to me and On the way to church my tire blew out. So I ended up missing church and had to take care of my tire, but God turned things around.
After I got that taken care of I went and hung around downtown San Jose because I needed to be there. Went out to the library, to an art store to pick up some new supplies, and to lunch at my favorite little mexican restaurant. Later on that afternoon I went to go to DYC (Downtown Youth Center) which is a dance club that a land developer gave to the chruch to use however they wanted... which we run a service at the club at every Sunday nite and pray for revival.
So tonite I was shooting live photos of my best friend Sean's band, Revolution Cry and a guy came up to me and told me he'd love to see some of my work. He told me that he was starting a magazine called Movement which talks about how youth are moving the nation for God. I showed him some of my photos as I had a small posrtfolio with me... which I'm glad I brought cuz I was thinking I might now need it this morning. This gentleman went on to say that he would like to use my photos of the band for their debut issue!! So I may be published soon!!
Wow... what a birthday present. Thanks God!

How very true is that!!
Good morning all.. I hope you have a wonderful day :D
Hi everyone. Been to the "Y" to walk, including 10 minutes on the treadmill (which I really don't like doing) and then picked up my friend and we went to the cafe to have coffee with the other retired men.
Today the housekeeper is here and when I got home she had already finished with my office. I see that the yard people are here to spruce up the yard so we will have everything spic and span shortly. If it would just stay that way.
In about 45 minutes will leave for the Senior Center to help coach a class using Quicken. This is the second week. I think I will be sitting at the demonstration computer, at least I had that job last week.
We had a wonderful and spirit filled worship service yesterday. Our attendance was down a lot from Easter Sunday. Following the service we did go out to lunch with 6 other folks. Then had a quiet and restless rest of the afternoon.
Pat, sure hope the fellow gets your computer fixed for you without delay. Of course, I know that Sonja will fill in for you in a most effective way. Thanks Sonja for helping Pat with the morning devotional while her computer is out of commission.
Liz, it sounds like you all live in a very beautiful place. Of course, every place that we live has its own beauty as it is God's creation. We really like living in Georgia and would certainly hesitate living anywhere else.
Hayley, nice to see you posting today.
Ria, I don't think I have ever been to a funeral that wasn't a Christian funeral.
Gregg, congratulations on your pending publication. Know that will mean a lot to your career as a photographer. Hope everything works out to your satisfaction and to the glory of God.
Good Morning: I can't stay here long. I have to work both jobs today. Bea called last night ans wants me tocome over to clean up her house a litle bit as they are coming to inspect the apartments 2 weeks prior toher moving. I think that is a little too soon. So I will mis WM's this morning.
Wow only 3 posts before mine, that is a first for this time of day.

Hi Everyone...
Got my Avon order to do online before my computer leaves so best I get that done.
I'll check in here later.
So nice to see you posting Hayley! Yes, that's a good quote from the devotional today.
Hi Larry and Pat.....I've got a goal... I am going to try my best to log on every morning and post in ... New every morning :) it gives me good thoughts to concentrate on while I go through my day.
I really need to get going .. but, I just recieved this email.. and wanted to share it with everyone....
There once was a King who offered a prize to the artist who would paint the best picture of peace. Many artists tried. The King looked at all the pictures, but there were only two he really liked and he had to choose between them.
One picture was of a calm lake. The lake was a perfect mirror, for peaceful towering mountains were all around it. Overhead was a blue sky with fluffy white clouds. All who saw this picture thought that it was a perfect picture of peace.
The other picture had mountains too. But these were rugged and bare. Above was an angry sky from which rain fell and in which lightning played. Down the side of the mountain tumbled a foaming waterfall. This did not look peaceful at all. But when the King looked, he saw behind the waterfall a tiny bush growing in a crack in the rock. In the bush a mother bird had built her nest. There, in the midst of the rush of angry water, sat the mother bird on her nest... perfect peace.
Which picture do you think won the prize?
The King chose the second picture. Do you know why? "Because," explained the King, "peace does not mean to be in a place where there is no noise, trouble, or hard work. Peace means to be in the midst of all those things and still be calm in your heart. That is the real meaning of peace."

Hello to all of you! I am glad I posted before leaving for church yesterday, because for the rest of the day and evening, I couldn't get online. I think it was because of the terrible wind we were having.
It's good to read all your posts this morning, and I hope everyone has a God-centered day. I have more matting and framing to do, so I will stay busy again today.
I hope to be back later!
Larry ~ Did you go out to eat with your friends after church? I know that is very enjoyable.
Janet ~ Me, too. I have a dual recliner. It is longer than a love seat but shorter than a sofa. Maybe a Lofa!!! Not only is it too short to nap on but it has that harder part in the middle where the two recliners meet. But I didn't get my nap on Jerry's sofa...read below.
Marilyn ~ I believe that we don't have to have structured prayer...but I am impressed with your prayers. I think that when we read or hear that someone needs prayers that God knows those thoughts and He has received our prayers. I guess if we have God on our minds we are praying contantly.
Liz ~ I am finding that more and more the people who serve us just doesn't care about the patient/customer. They all deal with quantity instead of quality. I am praying that your glasses will be perfect the next time.
Pat ~ Yes, I should have told Ria to forget about reading that little poem. But it does show why us English speaking people have so much trouble with spelling and choosing the right spelling for the right word.
Fast Eddie ~ I may not want to learn to whistle but I did put your clickable in My Favorites! Looks like an interesting site.
Jeanne Lee ~ Burning! Burning about anything in Indiana is against the law. At least in towns and cities. You never see anyone burn trash here. Occassionally, we will have a camp fire back in the woods but it is in the middle of a mile square. I love smelling leaves burning in the fall!
Papa John ~ I always look forward to reading your green posts. Always so uplifting.
Soni ~ I really like your new profile photo. How is Angel doing so far? Has she left you little presents? Who does she sleep with?
Gregg ~ God does move in mysterious ways and your Sunday shows exactly that. I wonder if that magazine has a website? Perhaps we will see your cover on the website.Okay, here is showing you my dumbness, stupidity, forgetfulness, whatever.
I shut down the computer yesterday morning and gathered everything I was taking to church and Jerry's. I put it all in the car. Got behind the steering wheel. Put the key in the ignition. Turn the key. Nothing!!! Turned it again after making sure the gear shift was in Park. Nothing. Made sure my foot was on the brake...these new fangel cars are smarter than humans sometimes. Still nothing. I had to get to church. It was my day to man the lights and Jerry and I do the duplicating of the audio cassettes every Sunday. So I got my keys and went back into the house. I called my brother. SIL answered and said Kaye Don just left for Men's breakfast at church. So I called Ivalou and asked her if she would loan me her car and perhaps get someone to come take her to her church...3 miles away. So I drove Ivalou's car to Jerry's and then church...25 miles. All the while, I was thinking why is the battery dead on my car. Then I remembered, I drove the car Friday night. Ivalou, Jerry and I went to my church's Spring Musical/Drama. When I got back in the garage, I had my keys in my hand and opened the door...the car did the DING, DING, DING thing. I noticed that but thought, when I shut the door it will stop.
So I brought Jerry home with me yesterday and he brought his battery charger. I came in the house and changed clothes and went to the garage. As soon as I got there, he said he shut off my headlights. HEADLIGHTS! Why were they on? My headlights are automatic. So I retraced my steps Friday night. Did I turn the headlights OFF when I let Jerry out because there was a car coming towards me? No. Did Ivalou and I go into Lapel for some reason and have a reason to turn them OFF? No. Then I remembered. Not far from Jerry's is drive-up ATM. I pulled up there and there was a big van in front of me. It seemed the man was having trouble making his transaction...the plates were from Canada! So I turned my headlights OFF so they wouldn't blind him. When I turned them back on, I turned them to ON instead of AUTO.
That's my story and I am sticking to it!!!?º°`°º?ø,¸¸,ø?º°`°º?ø?º°`°º?ø,¸¸,ø?º°`°º?ø?º°`°º?ø,¸¸,ø?º°`°º?ø?º°`

Hello, gang! Busy eating my Wendy's Chicken BLT salad and thought I would drop a note...
Our pastor spoke on weariness last night. Seems like Christians are so weary these days. He compared us to the dove sent out by Noah in search of land. The dove was probably really tired, and had no idea of the purpose of its trip, but it still did what it was supposed to do.
We need (as Christians) so desperately to encourage each other, don't we? You guys are a lot of encouragement to Karma and I, and we really appreciate it. Seems like we're stretched so thin most of the time, but we are very thankful for all of your friendship.
Hope you all have a good day!

The magazine that looks like I will be a staff photographer for is called Momentum and as of yet does not have a website. Thanks Larry, and Etta Sue the cover would be great! I'll let everyone know as it comes out and see if I can get you all some copies.
Gregg
Hello all!! I'm at work and trying to get my year end paperwork done (or at least in that direction) as quickly as possible, so this is just a brief posting. I should have more of an opportunity later this afternoon.
Have an awesome day!!!
LOL, Etta Sue! She has left little presents about the house, but thankful on newspaper. hehehe...I did catch trying to leave on the tile but caught her just in time to woosh her out the door. ::) ;D
She sleeps with the boys. The boys take turns. It was Zachery's turn last night. He has to get up, take her potty, clean her up if she makes a mess, feed her and sometimes they play with her.
She is a joy in our life. She is learning very quickly not to do certain things and she is learning to sit already. She is so cute. I wish you could see her trotting around the house as small as can be but with such proudness. hehe..
Thanks for the compliment on the picture.
Hello to everyone else.
I have a really busy day. Chandraya has to get her pictures taken with the dance group from 3-4:30. We are headed out the door to get her registered for kindergarten. I am a bit nerves about that.
I better get. I'll be back later.
Just really, really quick! I still have lots to do on the computer before it leaves me.
Just wanted to say "Hi" to you all. I'm going to see how my laptop does if my virus checker is up to date but not sure.
Hayley, great to see you here.
Gregg, great to see you have this job offer!
Soni, sounds like lots of fun with this new puppy. I'm so happy for you.
Hi Everyone else. Sorry I'm not mentioning names but my time is so limited right now.
Love you all.

Let me stop by for a minute today. This morning I took Cornelia for some surgery on her nose, skin cancer. She is OK but it took all the morning. Later we went by to see our granddaughter, Robbie, who is due to give us our first great granddaughter late May or early June.
Gen 1:27-28
27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.
28 And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.
(KJV)
We have been fruitful and have multiplied. Cornelia and I have had three daughters. Our daughters have had six children. Now one of them is giving us a great granddaughter. Praise God.

Prayer: Armed With Courage
But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like
a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind.
--James 1:6
When entering the prayer chamber, we must come filled with faith and
armed with courage. Nowhere else in the whole field of religious
thought and activity is courage so necessary as in prayer. The
successful prayer must be one without condition. We must believe
that God is love and that, being love, He cannot harm us but must
ever do us good. Then we must throw ourselves before Him and pray
with boldness for whatever we know our good and His glory require,
and the cost is no object! Whatever He in His love and wisdom would
assess against us, we will accept with delight because it pleased
Him. Prayers like that cannot go unanswered. The character and
reputation of God guarantee their fulfillment.
We should always keep in mind the infinite loving kindness of God.
No one need fear to put his life in His hands. His yoke is easy;
His burden is light.
We Travel an Appointed Way, p. 48
"Increase my faith; increase my courage. Amen."

See you all later!
I just received this from a niece, and laughed so hard, I wanted to share it with you! :o ::)
A woman went to the doctor's office, where she was seen by one of the new doctors, but after about 4 minutes in the examination room, she burst out, screaming as she ran down the hall.
An older doctor stopped her and asked what the problem was, and she told him her story. After listening, he had her sit down and relax in another room.
The older doctor marched down the hallway to the back where the younger doctor was and demanded, "What's the matter with you? Mrs. Terry is 63 years old, she has four grown children and seven grandchildren, and you told her she was pregnant?!!"
The new younger doctor continued to write on his clipboard and without
looking up said, "Does she still have the hiccups?"

Here I Am Lord
by Dan Schutte S.J.
1. I the Lord of sea and sky,
I have heard my people cry
All who dwell in dark and sin,
My hand will save,
I who made the stars of night
I will make their darkness bright
Who will bear my light to them,
Whom shall I send?
Chorus
Here I am, Lord, Is it I Lord?
I have heard You calling in the night
I will go, Lord, If You lead me
I will hold Your people in my heart.
2. I, the Lord of snow and rain
I have borne my people's pain
I have wept for love of them
They turn away
I will break their hearts of stone
Give them hearts of love alone
I will speak my word to them,
Whom Shall I send? Chorus
Here I am, Lord, Is it I Lord?
I have heard You calling in the night
I will go, Lord, If You lead me
I will hold Your people in my heart.
3. I, the Lord of wind and flame
I will tend the poor and lame
I will set a feast for them,
My hand will save
Finest bread I will provide
Till their hearts be satisfied
I will give my life to them,
Whom shall I send?
Chorus
Here I am, Lord, Is it I Lord?
I have heard You calling in the night
I will go, Lord, If You lead me
I will hold Your people

Author: Charlotte Elliott, 1789-1871
Musician: William B. Bradbury, 1816-1868
Just as I am, without one plea,
But that Thy blood was shed for me,
And that Thou bidst me come to Thee,
O Lamb of God, I come, I come.
Just as I am, and waiting not
To rid my soul of one dark blot,
To Thee whose blood can cleanse each spot,
O Lamb of God, I come, I come.
Just as I am, though tossed about
With many a conflict, many a doubt,
Fightings and fears within, without,
O Lamb of God, I come, I come.
Just as I am, poor, wretched, blind;
Sight, riches, healing of the mind,
Yea, all I need in Thee to find,
O Lamb of God, I come, I come.
Just as I am, Thou wilt receive,
Wilt welcome, pardon, cleanse, relieve;
Because Thy promise I believe,
O Lamb of God, I come, I come.
Just as I am, Thy love unknown
Hath broken every barrier down;
Now, to be Thine, yea, Thine alone,
O Lamb of God, I come, I come.
Just as I am, of that free love
The breadth, length, depth, and height to prove,
Here for a season, then above,
O Lamb of God, I come, I come!

HYMN HISTORY:
It must be true to say that no sacred song or hymn has been more used to bring sinners to the feet of Jesus, than this one.
Sung by grand choirs in vast crusades as hundreds have come or by congregations, large and small, as one's and two's have come; this hymn has moved the hearts of multitudes.
"Just As I Am," rings with a clear, positive note. It invites the sinner, just as he is, with all his sin, in all his unworthiness, despite his fears, though poor, wretched and blind, to come to the Saviour.
That's an invitation which is absolutely scriptural! We don't need to wait until our lives have been straightened out before we come to Christ. There's nothing we can do which will ever make us more acceptable in God's sight. The Bible clearly teaches that God loves the sinner, just the way he is, and wants him to come like that.
Only Jesus Christ can deliver us from the guilt and penalty of sin. Only He can solve all the problems of life. Only He can give us peace and joy and hope for the future. It was out of her feelings of frustration and hopelessness that the daughter of an Anglican minister in Brighton, England, wrote the words of this fine hymn.
One day in 1833, when Charlotte Elliott was in her forty-fourth year, she was feeling unusually depressed and alone. The other members of her family had gone off to a church function while she, an invalid and bedridden, remained at home.
Before her illness she had lived a happy, carefree life enjoying its many pleasures and gaining a measure of popularity, as a portrait artist.
Now, all of this past and stricken with the sickness which was to plague her for the rest of her life, she felt utterly useless and cut off. In addition, although she had been a Christian for many years, she began to have doubts about her relationship with the Lord. How could she be sure that all was well with her soul?
In her distress she began to list scriptural reasons for believing that she was, indeed, a child of God. She recognised the power of the Saviour's precious blood. She remembered His promise to receive all who come to Him by faith; and His ability to pardon, cleanse and save.
As she meditated on these great truths her heart was warmed and very soon Charlotte Elliott, who was also fond of writing poetry, was putting down her thoughts in verse:
Just as I am, without one plea,
but that Thy blood was shed for me,
And that Thou bidst me come to Thee,
O Lamb of God, I come, I come.
It's just here that we encounter a new slant to the story.
Charlotte Elliott's brother was anxious to start a school to benefit the children of poor clergymen, and had organised a bazaar to raise funds.
It seemed that everybody in the town had helped with the project. Everybody, that is, except Charlotte, who was so stricken with paralysis that she could barely drag herself around her room.
So she published her new poem "Just As I Am," in the hope that from its sale she could contribute something to her brother's school fund.
The poem was instantly successful and was soon selling all over England in large numbers as well as being translated into a number of foreign languages.
Charlotte Elliott never did enjoy good heath for the rest of her life. She remained bedridden until the Lord, at last, called her home when she was eighty-two years old.
However, before her death she received more than a thousand letters of thanks and compliments from people who were grateful that she had written "Just As I Am."
Just as I am, Thou wilt receive,
Wilt welcome, pardon, cleanse, relieve;
Because Thy promise I believe,
O Lamb of God, I come, I come.

Fill me with Thy hallowed presence,
Come, O come, and fill me now.
Thou canst fill me, gracious Spirit,
Though I cannot tell Thee how;
But I need Thee, greatly need Thee,
Come, O come and fill me now.
Refrain
I am weakness, full of weakness,
At Thy sacred feet I bow;
Blest, divine, eternal Spirit,
Fill with power and fill me now.
Refrain
Cleanse and comfort, bless and save me,
Bathe, O bathe my heart and brow;
Thou art comforting and saving,
Thou at sweetly filling now.
Refrain

Thank you Pat, It is playing now. I have about 50 minutes left on the computer then I am shutting it down for tonight. I want to stick to my fast. No computer after 5 pm. No coffee, more prayer, more quiet time with the Lord.
I have done all the reading I am going to do on the computer for today. I have 4 emails stacked up in my outbox that don't want to go out. They have been there since this morning. I am getting an error message.
Maybe they will go out when I reboot in the morning. I don't usually turn off the computer. I leave it on all the time. So now I am going to say bye for now.

Evening folks.
My family went to the local water lake/pond and took some pictures of geese and some weird looking ducks with loooong beaks. Not sure what they are.
We also seen this gal walking toward the water and we asked what she had in the bucket. She said a turtle and she was going to let him go. Of course Troy being right next to me seen it and wanted it. Boys, ::) !
hehehee... so now we have another new pet. ;D
Spring and summer are fun. I wonder what other animals the boys and girls will bring home.
I will post some of the duck shots in a couple days. I got some pretty good ones.
Welcome to all the "new" people. I hope you enjoy your time here, and I look forward to hearing from you.
Today has been a long day. I'm a moderator on another photography site, adn it is unbelievable some of the things we have dealt with today. I think it is at least partially resolved, for now, though.
I've enjoyed the postings today. Janet, thanks for the laughs; I needed that.
I think Bernard mentioned that last night our preacher preached on weariness. He used Noah and the dove as examples. I was thinking about that today. If anyone might have grown weary in his mission for God, it could have been Noah. It rained 40 days and nights, but my understanding is that he was on that boat for over a year. Imagine being in a boat with your family and several hundred of your pets for a year. Talk about God's grace. shew. I know now that when I grow "tired" of the job God has given me, I can think of Noah (and several other people) and realize that God will never call me to do that which He has not equipped me to do.
I think I am going to read some other forums now. I am also going to try and post some pics!
Good night!
I am going to go ahead and open tomorrows NEM.
Feel free to post a message in there.
I will lock the door in about 10 minutes. ;D
Ok...I am locking the door.
