Morning Devotional...

In that hour Jesus rejoiced in spirit, and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth.
Luke 10:21

Jesus. groaned in the spirit and was troubled.
John 11:33

Both "rejoicing" and "trouble" are woven, in various degrees, into the
fabric of every life. It is inescapable.

How remarkable it is to read that our Lord Jesus also experienced these two emotions!

It is a clear pointer to His close identification with us in our human state!

So whether rejoicing or sorrowing today, be assured of this, whatever our emotional condition, He understands.
--G. Hall

In every pang that rends the heart,
The Man of Sorrows bears a part.

Hallelujah! What a Saviour!   (http://christianphotographers.com/sounds/marah.mpga)
(Click to hear music)

He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows,
and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him;
he was despised, and we esteemed him not.
Isaiah 53:3

Author:  Philip P. Bliss, 1838-1876
Musician:  Philip P. Bliss, 1838-1876

Man of Sorrows! what a name
For the Son of God, who came
Ruined sinners to reclaim!
Hallelujah! what a Saviour!

Bearing shame and scoffing rude,
In my place condemned He stood;
Sealed my pardon with His blood:
Hallelujah! what a Saviour!

Guilty, vile and helpless, we;
Spotless Lamb of God was He:
Full atonement!â€" can it be?
Hallelujah! what a Saviour!

Lifted up was He to die,
"It is finished!" was His cry;
Now in heav'n exalted high:
Hallelujah! what a Saviour!

When He comes, our glorious King,
All His ransomed home to bring,
Then anew this song we'll sing:
Hallelujah! what a Saviour!

Yes, the moments of elation and the dark times of groans - this is real life and Jesus experienced it with us.

Helllloooooooooooooo!  I hope everyone had a wonderful, Christ-filled Easter.  We did.  The church service was good and the kids enjoyed having their dad home for four straight days.

We took Travis fishing yesterday.  He caught a bluegill and a largemouth bass. :)  More than anyone else.  He did it all by himself, too.  All nards had to do was bait it and take the fish off.  (And he does that for me, as well :) ).

Etta -- I'm sorry to hear about your pastor leaving.  BUT, when God takes away, He replaces . ..  I was thinking of Jerry over the weekend.   I wonder what he is doing in Heaven right now?

Pat, I hope Geordie gets okay.  He'll probably enjoy being with you tomorrow.  Be careful, and don't tire yourself out!

When you pray, please whisper a prayer for a former classmate of mine -- Eric.  (My younger sister is dating his younger brother).  I'll put more details in the prayer section.

Tomorrow is my long day at work, so I'd better be getting ready for bed.

On sunday we had a time of praise for all that God had done for us.  Melaura stood up and asked for prayer for a oung girl who kept her goiong during a rough time and now this young gal has turned her back on God.  Keep her in prayer will you, She is on a slippery path.

Etta Sue I understand how you feel.  We have lost our senior Pastor.  He is on too more opportunities, like a promotion, but I do say he is missed.  I will be keeping your situation in prayer as well as the others.

Pat I am praying for travellling safety for you.

Well I am tired, didn't sleep well last night.  SOoooooo Night all

Hi everyone.  It is early but wanted to stop by first things as have a very busy day and may not get back on here today.

After coffee I have to go to have a blood test done and then get the car into the dealer for an oil change.  I will stay at the mall area until time to leave for my doctor's appointment in midtown Atlanta.  It is time for my routine check by the cardiologist of the pacemaker/defibulator.  I will be ready for a nap when I get home and then I have choir practice tonight.  This is more than I really like to have on my schedule for one day but it just worked out that way today.

Karmat, it sounds like you are going to have quite a fisherman in Travis.  I am sure that must please his dad as well as you.  So sorry to read of the young man with the tumor.

Pat, glad to read that Geordie is better today.

Hope everyone has a nice day.  We may get a little rain down this way, but we can use it.

Thank you, Pat, for the good Word.  It is very interesting that though I prefer to be rejoicing, I find that in sorrow, or struggles, at least, is when I have been most effective at telling others of His love and the salvation story.  Hmmmm...  8)

Jesus was motivated by His mission to glorify His Father, whether rejoicing or otherwise.

We are to tell the Good News in any circumstance.  As we do, it will, like fire, spread.  It is inevitable.

In His Grip,
kevin

Evangelism Vs. Fire

Elton Trueblood, the Quaker scholar, once compared evangelism to fire. Evangelism occurs, he said, when Christians are so ignited by their contact with Christ that they in turn set other fires. It is easy to determine when something is aflame. It ignites other material. Any fire that does not spread will eventually go out. A church without evangelism is a contradiction in terms, just as a fire that does not burn is a contradiction.

Thank you all for your concerns of our pastor leaving.  Mark isn't the Senior pastor.  He is the Minister of Adult Education.  I doubt if they replace him after he is gone so that job will be spread over the remaining pastors.  We have 9 ministers now at my church.  Four Assistant Aides and 2 Custodians that are on staff.  That's a lot.  No, I know Mark and Deborah are leaving.  I have accepted that.  But I want the best for them.  I want them to feel that where they are going is where God is leading them to go and where they can do the work for God to the best of their ability.  Remember this minister and his wife has been in our Small Group for over two years so we have grown very close to them.

Karma ~ I wonder if when you are in heaven and you 'know' who wins in the NASCAR races ahead of time, if it is still as exciting.  Do you think Jerry is telling God....don't let that guy win.  He doesn't deserve to win.  Let so and so win!  Now, that sounds like Jerry!!  <3

Pat ~ I saved your CP animation.  I will see if I can get it to stay on longer after it is all written out.  And I have noticed a lot of my own animations have stray pixels when on the blue background on here.  If it were white, you wouldn't see them.  Too late now.  The site is blue!

Photography class was very interesting last night.  They use Photo Shop where I use Paint Shop Pro.  About the same thing except things are called by different names.  Apples instead of Oranges.  We were shown how to put a babies face in the center of a rose last night.  I know I can do that with PSP but I want to follow the directions given for Photo Shop and change the apples to oranges.  The leader uses the Histogram a lot.  I never understood what to do with histogram.  Will see if it works the same as was taught on PSP.

Hope to mow this afternoon.  Right now it looks like RAIN!!

Hello!  Good to see you all here today!

Karma and Nards, good to hear from your neck of the woods!  We miss you when you aren't around.  :'(  I hope you had your camera handy when your little fisherman was doing his thing!  ;)  Give Both Travis and Kristi a hug for me, will you?

We have a really nice day here today, so far!  (Meaning, no wind!)

I have had my workout, then went to the dentist, so my smile is all polished up.   Wanna see it?  ;D ;D hehehehe

We are going to a leadership meeting at our church at 6 this evening, then will have to leave early, to go to the Methodist Church in Lakin, to a meeting where our questions about the Walk to Emmaus will be answered.  Darrel's Walk starts tomorrow evening.

Carol, you asked, as I did, what this walk is.........you might go to www.walktoemmaus.com and check it out.  Since I have never gone before, I can't really tell you much.  But...after next weekend, I hope to know a lot more!  :)  Edit:  I get Page cannot be displayed, don't know if I have the url wrong, or if my server is acting up.  Sorry.

Time to find something for lunch, and get busy!

Hello everyone.  I had an early morning today, then picked Melaura up at school only to find out I was wrong on the day.  Her appointment is friday and not today.  I feel I wasted a alot of time, but it was rewarding in another way.

We have the wonderful weather here at last. In the shade at 4:44 pm it is 20*C.  Really nice.

I am going outside to enjoy the weather.

Love to all
Judy

That emaus site will answer any general questions.
I was going to try top explain it myself, but they do a better job.

I've been on many Koinonia weekends, Koinonia is a non-denominational prodestant version of the Cursillo.
