Morning Devotional...Most of us have forgotten how to greet the day. The knowledge is all but lost to us that a new day is sacred: a gift from God, a rare and precious gift. A new day brings with it another opportunity to start all over, to raise one's head from the pillow with a glad heart, to watch the clouds roll across the dark sky now diffusing pink, and to breathe that child prayer of gratitude, "Oh, God, life again. Again, one more day of life."
We must relearn how to stand in awe , how to face for a moment the eastern sky with praise and thanksgiving and allow our hearts to be filled with a corresponding inner daybreak of adoration.
We must learn to not ever take for granted--no matter how pain-filled our life--that we are alive and the earth still turns on its axis, that evil has not wobbled the world off its course while we slept; and we must understand this sacramental symbol, this reenactment of life which comes resurrecting every twenty-four hours.
Celebrating each new day helps us develop the ability to be grateful for all new moments and for the God who is in each one. The discipline of celebrating each new day influences our attitude toward all of life.
A new day signifies: The Lord of mornings is still sovereign over the world.Author:

Soni: What a wonderful devotional. I used to listen to Karen Mains from a Buffalo radio station. They took it off the air., and I've always missed it so much. Her husband is a terrific preacher.
NARDS: a VERY HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU TODAY!!....are you 29 and holding???
I can't do those fancy cards that everyone puts on., but my wishes are sincere, and from the heart....so just picture me sending a big cyber hug across the miles!

Hi Everyone!
Happy Birthday Bernard-May the Lord richly bless you :)
I have been keeping busy catching up on things since we got back home from our trip-the kids have been sick so I have been busy caring for them.
Today we got started back with School~and they did well. Since we got home we have gotten through a couple things with our Son, He goes to bed without a fight (Yeah!)that is a blessing in itself and he hasn't had any accidents at night..
We bought a Karoke Machine tonight and the kids had alot of fun with it-they love to sing and this is wonderful for them to practice.
Please continue to pray for my young friend with MS-tonight she resigned from her job because they thought she couldn't do her job because she has this desease-she has worked so hard at her work-she is devestated, angry and upset..
Also I have a friend who just lost her husband and needs prayer too.
Well, I must go and get some sleep-
Have a blessed day.
Rachelle
For me it is goodmorning Ria.
Also a Happy Birthday to Bernard.
Ruth

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, BERNARD!! AND MANY MORE!!!
I woke up last night to the sounds of thunder and was so happy to think we were getting rain---but it didn't rain enough to notice. It was very foggy this morning as we drove to the pool, but the sun is shining now.
The 700 Club is coming on now and I want to watch/listen, so will be back later.
Good morning, folks!
Thank you, Ria! How is the weather your way?
Thanks, JudyMc. I am glad you liked the devotion. ;D
I finally slept through the night last night. Wooohooo...
I am going to go work out this morning with Troy and then pay a few bills. Fun!
I really liked this devotion because I sometimes go through the morning without thinking of who I should be living this day for. It was a good reminder to me.
I have seen that show before, Janet. A long time ago. ::) How are you sleeping?
I have a few photos I need to get ready for print. Be back later.

Good Morning one and all. Soni thank you for the devotion, very nice.
I see that today is the anniversary of the Columbine shootings. I remember so well that day. I spent all day on my knees crying out to God as the horrible scenes were on the TV. I was a new Christian at that time, only a few months old. I still brings tears to my eyes to watch anything about that horrible day.
Today I am taking Bea over to the new apartment so we can look it over and see where we are going to put her things. She called the Salvation army yesterday to pick up her old sofa, Now her son won't have anyplace to sleep, when he comes. She finally sent him home Friday.
He comes in the middle of the month after he has spent all his $$ then stays until the 3rd of the next month until his check comes again. In the meantime all he does is eat all her food until she has no $$ left in the bank. How sad that some family members take so much advantage of the elders.

That is very sad. If it were me he would be out on the street. I would never let my kids do that and they know it. My grandma was the same way. She would let anyone stay at her house. People took advantage of her alot.
Thank you for the e-card. ;D
I tried to reply to your message but it come back saying that the message got sent to your "Suspect Email". What on earth you got going on there?
Talk with you later.
Soni
I'm back!
Soni, you did a fine job of opening the door today, and I loved the devotional! Thanks.
I slept better last night than I have been doing, and for that I am very thankful. Thanks for asking--glad you did better, too!
Marilyn, that is so sad........what check does the guy get on the 3rd? Social Security? How old is this free-loader? I hope none of my kids or grandkids would ever even think of taking advantage of the elderly relatives. :-\ >:( :(
Ria, glad you enjoyed the funny little story. To answer your question about where the souls of the unbelieving go upon death---unhappily, they go to Sheol, or hell. We do not like to think about these things, but the Bible is clear about the fact that after one dies, there are no more chances to accept the sacrifice Jesus made for us on the cross. If someone else can explain it better, I hope they will do so. I think maybe those who do not believe are in a place of waiting until after the judgment, then they are cast into hell. But, for sure, they do not have any more opportunities to escape that, once they die. I'm so sorry about your neighbor, but maybe some of his family will turn to God because of this. We can pray so, anyway.
Hi there, Judy Mc! How are you doing today?
Hello, Rachelle! You sound like such a busy gal, but you have your priorities in order, so all will be well. :D
Hey, Pat! We miss you and hope you will soon have your computer back. It just isn't the same without you. :'(
Hi everyone and welcome the new folks who joined us yesterday, Abigil, June and Shawn.
Sonja, a great devotional message and thanks for filling in for Pat today to start the New Every Morning devotional for us.
It is indeed sad that people take advantage of others, especially their elderly parents. Marilyn, with your lady getting rid of the couch maybe her son will get the message.
Happy Birthday Bernard. Hope you have a wonderful day.
Ria, I liked your little poem today and the "forever friend" that we have in Jesus Christ.
This is Calvin Cove day so will be going to the church in a little while and spend some time with the adult day-care folks as we sing songs and have a good time. It is sad to see some of the folks decline from week to week but know it is to be expected with the folks coming to the Calvin Cove.

When the trumpet of the Lord shall sound, and time shall be no more,
And the morning breaks, eternal, bright and fair;
When the saved of earth shall gather over on the other shore,
And the roll is called up yonder, I'll be there.
Refrain
When the roll, is called up yon-der,
When the roll, is called up yon-der,
When the roll, is called up yon-der,
When the roll is called up yonder I'll be there.
On that bright and cloudless morning when the dead in Christ shall rise,
And the glory of His resurrection share;
When His chosen ones shall gather to their home beyond the skies,
And the roll is called up yonder, I'll be there.
Refrain
Let us labor for the Master from the dawn till setting sun,
Let us talk of all His wondrous love and care;
Then when all of life is over, and our work on earth is done,
And the roll is called up yonder, I'll be there.

Soni everyone gets that message from my server until I click you into the servers address book. It is to control the spam, you are in now. That is why sometime back I ask everyone to send me an email so I could get everyone in that I wanted in and keep the others out. Every morning I go to the server and check to see who is there. Thank you I am happy that you liked the card.
Her son is on SSI (disability) he is 54 yrs. old and a leech. She said he has always been that way but more so since her other two sons have died. At the retirement center I don't think they will allow anyone overnight except her caregiver.
She doesn't want his help with the packing or moving because he always just helps himslef to whatever he wants. When His two brother died he took all their belongings and didn't give any of it to their children.
Now to check the other folders.
Thanks for posting that song, Larry. That is the first time hearing it. Beautiful!

Hi to all,
What a lot of postings I had to read to play "catch up"
Thanks, Jeanne, for the info on books by Joyce Meyer.
I will look for those books you mentioned--I usually can find her books ..
My son joined a audio book club and downloaded a book for me by Charles Stanley..I will let you know how it is.
Larry, have you ever been to see/hear Charles Stanley in person.??
Wow, a lot of birthdays this month--Happy Birthday to the birthday boy "nards".
My grandson's birthday was last week, my son-in-law this week, My hubby Next Tuesday and my aunt next Wednesday,
and little "old" me will have her birthday on Sunday. --Another "39 er " coming up.
I think Janie's birthday is this month, too, I seem to remember that from way back on our SN days.
Our weather on the east coast especially New Jersey was beautiful---80's degrees and I was loving it --so much so, I think I overdid in the sun...
Fishing season opened and hubby was thrilled and me and the doggie just sat at the lake watching everyone enjoy fishing and boating.
Hubby caught three --one , perch and two trout;but releases them..
He usually likes bass fishing but either way I think he will be
catching and releasing.
Going over to prayer forum,
Love in Christ,
Joyce

Im confused-how come pat isn't here very often? can someone explain to me..
Rachelle
I know you don't know me very well, but Happy Birthday Nards! It's a special day! I heard a radio program during my lunch hour that talked about our second birthday, when we become born again. That is an extremely special day. Thank God for His mercy and grace.
Soni, I looked at some shots on your website and liked them very much. The Ballerina photos seemed to be very close to your heart.
A funny thing, you had some from the railroad tracks, I got stopped by a police officer two weeks ago for "trespassing" while I was photographing various things on and off the tracks. I didn't know I was trespassing. They said since September 11 they don't like anyone photographing the railroad tracks. I'm just 31 years old and my how things have changed in just my lifetime.
But God is good and anymore, that's about the only thing that doesn't change. Have a great day to all of you.
Shawn
Happy Birthday Nards
Love Ruthie
Rachelle, Pat's computer is having an overhaul today. You will see her tomorrow, I think.
God Bless
Ruthie
I'm on my way to EE tonight. Tonight we don't go out into the highways and byways because the trainees are writing an exam and getting ready to do a tape. The tape is the whole presentation of the gospel. They are then marked and in a few weeks they graduate.
They are all a little nervous, but usually do extremely well. I teach Level 2 and they also have a test tonight.
I will talk to you when I arrive home.
God Bless
Ruthie

We miss Pat when she is not able to show up as usual but Sonja did an excellent job getting us started today.
We had to have the plumber come by today to fix some leading faucets etc. It cost an arm and a leg. I used to be able to do those things but I'm not able anymore to bend and turn etc.
Nards, a happy birthday to you today. As time goes by it seems that they come around faster and faster.
It is good to read all the posts today and to see so many show up. I think of each one as a good friend. Friends are important and I appreciate your friendship today. And we can especially treasure our BEST friend, Jesus.
John 15:12-17
12 My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you.
13 Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends.
14 You are my friends if you do what I command.
15 I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master's business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you.
16 You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit-- fruit that will last. Then the Father will give you whatever you ask in my name.
17 This is my command: Love each other. (NIV)

Well, I tried to make some corrections to the last post and I hit "quote" instead of "modify" and I ended up with the same post twice. Then I couldn't find the delete button so I am having to write something to fill in this space.
Sorry about that.

Soni, I looked at some shots on your website and liked them very much. The Ballerina photos seemed to be very close to your heart.
Thank you and yes I love dance. I love to watch it and I love to dance. I hope my daughters love dance as much as I do. Thanks again!

Shawn
:o I can't believe that you are not allowed to take pictures of the railroad tracks. That is a little extreme. At least you didn't get into trouble. I haven't been told I can't yet, soooo... ::) ;D
Happy Birthday Bernard!
Great job you're doing Soni!
Just stopping by for a few, my supper is ready and after supper it will be timew for me to get off the computer.
Still raining here but I love the rain, everything is so pretty and green, flowers blooming.

Shawn, I'm in my 60s and certainly understand your photo taking dilemma.
My son who lives in the UK got homesick and asked me to take photos of some of his schools and some of the other places here in our town that he would remember.
The principal at one of the schools came dashing out the door and threatened me with all sorts of mayhem until I told her who some of the teachers were, who the principal was, and where our family lived then (and I still live there). After that, she smiled, patted me on the shoulder, and suggested a nice angle for the photo.
These are indeed scary times in which we live.

Soni A Great Job

Gene is at men's bible study tonight. They're supposedly studying Purpose Driven Life but every week it turns into a buzz session. There are seven men, ages from 24 to 76 and they seem to cover a lot of different subjects. Gene is really enjoying it and comes home every week all wound up.

LOL...a buzz session. Are group is the same way. We get all wound up. It is a nice change from the other classes. ;D
I'm at my neighbour's house! Boy! What I do to get in here.
Not sure what you mean, Rachelle! if I posted more, I'd have to be on here 24 hours a day! Gotta sleep sometimes! HAHAHAHA!!!
Thanks again Soni for helping me out when my computer is in the shop.
I haven't heard from Heiko yet. Hope he hasn't had to stay in Sudbury overnight!
Good to see you, Pat! I really do believe you miss us! ;D
Papa John, I hope you don't mind, but I removed the / mark from your last sentence, so that it was in bold. You had put it both before and after the sentence. ;)
I guess everyone understands now, Pat, that your computer is "in the hospital," and that is keeping you off more than usual. Good that you find ways to come in, anyway! ;D
I had my painting class today because on Thursday, I want to go to Abby's school music program. In the morning, I have to go see if I can find a couple of things she needs for her dance recital coming up on May 1st.
The only time I have left the house today was early this morning to go swim!
See you all tomorrow! 8)
Great to see you posted Pat.

I haven't been here for a while, log on, and, what's the first thing I read?!?!?!? THE LEAFS WON! And I'm sitting here, crying, very sad, because the Leafs won. The Sens lost. Lalime blew it. I'm so depressed.
:'(
Ursula...I'm sorry you're depressed about the Leafs winning. I didn't realize you were routing for the Senators. Did you live in Ottawa before B.C.? I know that both teams are very close and very good players.
Well the horns are still blowing. Because I live close to Yonge Street, (the longest street in Canada) I can hear and see all the excitement.
God Bless
Love Ruthie

Ruthie,
:) Congratulations on your team winning! They played well, especially Balfour. And, yes, we lived in Ottawa before moving to BC, and we still are Sens fans. NEXT YEAR!!!!
Good night!
Ursula
