Are you really at peace?




 





Peace With God Is A Must

John 14:27, Romans 5:1.
  "Peace I leave with you.  My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you.  Let not your heart be troubled; neither let it be afraid."  "Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ."

The world affords a little peace occasionally - a gentle stream flowing  amongst beautiful trees in the quiet woods, no other people near, the sun filtering down through the branches and leaves to provide warmth and just enough light, while you stand perfectly still, drinking in the welcome relief from a noisy and often threatening world . . .

It's a lovely oasis, but, alas, it is also quite temporary.  You must always return to the bustling, competetive, and often hostile world.  And, inescapably, you and I also have to live and deal with the constant and nagging realization of our guilt before man, God, and our own consciences.  True peace flees from us.

Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior, though, provides both permanent and perfect relief.  His love, unlike any other, is ALWAYS available and ALWAYS adequate for ANY situation, while at the same time making us competely acceptable and beloved to the holy God.  It's a better, more complete, and more enduring peace than any offered by this world.  He gave Himself that we might truly live!

Oh thank your Savior and Lord today, and rejoice in true peace today!

Looks like I'm first in the door again.  I have a heavy heart tonight because of a phone call from a dear friend and former sister-in-law.  She has lost her only daughter and her youngest son within 7 months of each other.  This lady has really been through the fire and my heart is so hurt for her.  I know what it is to lose a daughter but she has lost two of her three children.  I called my daughters to let them know of their cousins' passing.  One thing Marge said as we ended our conversation tonight was "Don't forget me."  It felt like a knife in my heart...of course I won't forget her.  We first met when I was 13 and she was 19, married and with a little girl.  I used to babysit for her, in fact.  We were best friends long before I married her brother.  We remained good friends even after my divorce.  This dear lady has been through hell lately and is near the breaking point.  Please, if you have a moment, will you pray for Marge.  I love her and so does our Father even though she is hurting and feels He has forsaken her ... I know He hasn't. 

Thanks, Marilyn, for your prayers.  It really means a lot to know you care

Janet, I can't even imagine what it must be like for you.  I know our Father is with you, though, and He has all the answers.  I am certainly praying for you and the situation with Beth..
Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass .... it's about learning to dance in the rain!

Hi everyone.  I see I didn't remember to stop by yesterday and post.  No excuse just forgot (one of those senior moments).

Today I will be gone all day with 4 others from our Computer Learning Center.  We are going to Aiken, S.C. (a three hour drive) to participate in a meeting related to the new Vista Operating System.  A Microsoft representative is to be there to speak to not only us from interested folks from the University and the community.  I am looking forward to the day.

Janet, so sorry to hear of your turmoil.  I do hope you can find someone to come in and provide the help that Beth needs.  You are fortunate that she has her own place.  We will face a very bad situation if our daughter ever needs help as she lives at home and I guess the presumption is if the person is allowed to live with parents they remain the parents responsibility regardless of age or the ability of the parent to financially support them.  Strange world we live in.

JudyB, congrats to Melura and her team.  I know you are very proud of her achievements and that sounds like a fine organization of which she is a part.

Jane, I can't even imagine the turmoil a person would face having lost two children.  I am sure it leaves a void that will never be filled.

It is a cold +6*C here today.  Overcast and cludy.  Would you believe it we are to have snow at some point today?  That has become a dirty four letter word   s n o w .

Life is getting back to a semblence of normal.  Drill is over and now we will be home from church earlier.  We are all tired, a lot of emotional energy was expended over the weekend.

Janet isn't Beth on Medicaid?  We have a different criteria here, if an adult is hurt or sick there is the option of having home care for bathing and laundry.  They don't do housework though, but most of the time that isn't a problem.  We have a VON department that supplies 1 meal a day at the cost of $5.00 a day.  The meal is good, and often does 2 meals.  the "client" does not have to take meals every day, Mother has 3 a week.

I have laundry to fold and more to wash.  SO..................May God richly bless each of you and have a good day.

Good morning!  I have lots to do today--what else is new?

I have a chiropractic appointment in Hugoton at 11:00, so must be getting gone soon.  Then this afternoon have to take Beth to the hospital for therapy.

Abby's class is spending their school day and having class in the one room schoolhouse at the museum tomorrow.  She needs a 1930s dress to wear, and I found one that I think will work, among the dress-up clothes I have been colleting for family reunion.  But I wasn't able to locate a bonnet nor a big bow for her hair.  I will suggest braiding her hair and putting in ribbons.  This will be one of their field trips, sounds like fun.

Darrel is still talking non-stop about his Walk.  It is wonderful to see and hear him so enthused about what God did in the lives of the men, and of course, his life, too.  :) :)

No, Judy, Beth isn't on Medicaid.  You can only get on Medicaid here if your total assets come to $2000.00 or less, and she owns her mobile home and has a little money she saved while working.  But she won't have that for long, if we find a private pay person to help her!  Thanks for your input.  Gotta run!

Good Morning Good devotional Al.

Janet on Medicaid it is OK to own your own home. $2,000. is the limit in the amount of money you can have in savings here too. Fay,  goes to the bank every other month and takes enough money out of her account to keep it under the limit.  She knows that is the only way she can get the services of the care provider without paying for it herself. She says that  "you have to do what you have to do" Beth could pull her savings out and let you take care of it.


We have  Meals on Wheels here,  the cost is a donation of $2 or $3. per meal, none if you don't have the money. The meals are nutritious they are frozen and delivered once a week, include juices and milks too.

Today I am taking Fay to the bank and we may go to Kmart if she feels up to it. Then IU will go check on Leroy and deliver his laundry and ironing see what needs to be done there, after that I will stop at the church as WM's is today.

Well it's cloudy today after totally sunny yesterday.  But, you know what, I think we ought to praise and thank our God for WHATEVER He sends.  After all, it's all merciful - we don't deserve any of it.  I think we should thank Him for washing and refreshing His earth and for watering His wonderful greenery.  And then I think we should thank Him for the wonderful sunshine also, which warms, brightens, and even disinfects.  He's a wonderful Provider!

Oh, what a wonderful devotion today, Al.  Thanks so much for it and reminding us too of "We have an Anchor"  Great words.  I read it much earlier in the day and posted in here but now I see it must be floating around in cyberspace!  My internet connection did have the hiccups earlier so that's probably what happened.

Janet, my heart goes out to you.  Words fail me but I'll keep praying.

This has been a very busy day for me and it's going to be a busy evening as well but I'll try to get back here a little later on.

Hmmmm..........everyone must be having busy Mondays!

While Beth was doing her therapy, I went and talked to her doctor.  He said they notified him they were stopping Home Health care for Beth, and he wrote "NO" and added that she NEEDS that service.  He wasn't aware they stopped it anyway.  He said "We just don't have control over hardly anything any more."  But he said he will see what he can find out about available services, or at least some names of people who could help for private pay.

Darrel went over and installed MORE grab bars for Beth.  All we can do is all we can do.  :-\ :(

Now I have framing to work on, so adios!

I've just had my yard spiffied up and my neighbor has started the work of restoring my front porch.  Things are looking up around here even if it does cost me a little to hire someone to do the work.  I have tried doing the yard work and didn't get far.  I don't have the proper tools anyway, and I'm not supposed to be in the sun.   :-[

Now I'm going to really make an effort to write a letter to my friend in Oklahoma who recently lost two of her three children and is deeply grieving.  I have been "meaning to" write ever since she called me last night but .... somehow the opportunity has managed to avoid me.  I'll get at it and be back later to talk at y'all.

It's good to be back. Life has been difficult, but is getting better. My son is now on Medicare - thank you, God! And the ear doctor put a tube in, which should help my ear to heal. Hearing has not improved much as of yet, but it may with time.

Janet, I'm sorry to hear of Beth's continued problems. The doctors are right - sometimes no matter how hard they try, they're ignored by these "dollar jockeys" at the "cost management" offices.

Good day to all and it is so great to here all the many things that go on in each one of your lives.

My new job is very challenging and it is amazing how many different types of people that you meet just in two days. The job is working for a Medical supply company and you go to so many areas in the whole of the Niagara region.
