Morning Devotional...

Weapon of Praise

"I will praise thee, O Lord, with my whole heart; I will shew forth all thy marvellous works. I will be glad and rejoice in thee: I will sing praise to thy name, O thou most High. When mine enemies are turned back, they shall fall and perish at thy presence."
(Psalm 9:1-3)

Never underestimate the importance of praise. It's one of the most powerful spiritual weapons you have.

Praise is more than a pleasant song or a few uplifting words about God. It does something. It releases the very presence of God Himself. And, when the presence of God comes on the scene, your enemies are turned back. Sickness and disease can't stay on your body. Poverty can't stay in your house.

Even physical weariness has to flee when it's faced with real joy-filled praise. I know that from experience. Years ago, when I first began conducting Healing School, I had a real battle with fatigue. I'd minister and lay my hands on the sick for so many hours at a time that by the time the meeting had ended, I was sometimes too physically weak even to close the service.

Then, in one particular meeting, I discovered the power of praise. I had just finished praying for those in the prayer line, and as usual, I was exhausted. But instead of rest, the Spirit of the Lord impressed on me that what I needed was to rejoice in the Lord. So, I did. I began to praise the Lord with my whole heart, mind and body. Do you know what happened? The tiredness left me. And I was energized with the presence of God!

The next time the devil tries to stifle your effectiveness, to drain you of the strength and wealth and victory that's yours in Jesus, turn him back with that powerful weapon. Lift your hands and your voice and whole heart to God. Praise!

Excellent devotional Janet!! Ya sure closed it up early. You must be tired tonight.

After I got home today I took out the hem of three pr of pants and pressed in the amount of hem, I have to put on seam tape on since I am letting them down as much as possible. The other say when I was ironing I knocked my iron off the board and the handle just won't click back together so the Wm's gave me one of theirs. It is a lot better than the old one I had, even has a Teflon sole plate. Nice!! :)

Hi Ruth Ann good to see you again.

Hello Carol good to see you too.

Jane you sure have been talkative the last couple of days. Good for you sister. I hope it goes well writing you letter to your friend. Those kind are so difficult to write.

Janet wonderful devotional.  Yes indeed if we are tired, it is a great idea to praise God, and have the weariness lifted.

Before the renovations you did on Beth's trailler what would the value have been?  Do you know a Christian Realator?  If so have them do an evaluation on the trailler, and then with the bit of money she has.... see if it is over $2000.  I am praying it isn't and you will be able to get the help you need. Also how long will your health stand up to this added work?  They need to take that into account as well.  Perhaps the doctor can help there.

I did a lot of walking yesterday.  Today both knees are swollen and really sore. I am taking advil but they don't seen to be doing any good.  I am stationary today.

The weather report was correct.  We had  s n o w   last night  it is mostly gone except in the shaded areas.  Sun is shining too so it won't be long going.

Gord I am glad the job is working out.

God bless

Hi Everyone...

I'm just in the door from several appointments.

I'll be at another one in 1/2 hour but just thought I'd come in and say "Hi" to you all.

What a wonderful quote, Janet!

If you're too busy to pray
You're too busy!

Oh, that I'm never too busy to talk to my Heavenly Father!

I am very hopeful today!  A man with the Center for Independent Living came today to evaluate Beth's condition, both physically and financially.......and he feels that she will qualify for Medicaid.  So pray with us that this will happen.  If so, she can get several kinds of services:  personal care attendant (the most important!) housekeeping, transportation, and they will even pay a contractor to come in and further modify her trailer to accomodate her handicaps.  Oh, how I pray she will qualify!!  What a tremendous load that will be off my shoulders.....and my mind!  :)

Congratulations to the winners in the photo contest.  I loved all the photos in there, but that baby cygnet was just adorable. <3

I'm cold---the weather has turned really chilly and windy, plus it feels damp, so I'm going to make me a nice  :coffee: tea!!

Was CP down for a while?  I couldn't get in this morning.

Janet, I've been out at appointments most of the day so never heard that CP was down but I wondered when I saw so few posts today.

Usually Ian lets me know but haven't heard from him at all.

I'm praying for Beth's situation.

Janet I am so blessed to hear that God has answered my prayers for some help for Beth. I just6 knew that Kansas wasn't behind the rest of the states in giving help to the disabled regardless of their age.  I am so happy and praying the Beth will be highly favored of the Lord  to get on Medicaid and all  he help she  needs.

I couldn't get on CP this morning either. Al called me about the time (7AM) he posted on the Yahoo forum I also see that Carol and Janet also posted there.

My doggies have had a nice walk today. I am making an effort to get out more often now that the weather is better, but I am going to have to do it all year round  I just don't like to be cold or wet.

JudyB my goodness what in the world did you do to you poor legs?

Where is Etta Sue is she still gone to Michigan? When is she coming back.

Well, I am indeed glad to see CP up and running!  Couldn't get back to try it until now.

We had clouds this morning, but now it's burned offf and it's sunny.  Looks like "sunny California" out there.

We're having beautiful weather here too, Al.  It's been sunny all day. :) :)

I was just checking in to see if you're up and going.  Now I need to go fix dinner.  My sis took her turn last night.  I think I can get used to someone else cooking here.  This is great!  Things always taste different if you don't have to fix them yourself.  Mine does, anyway.

Janet, this sounds so encouraging for Beth and you.  She really needs this help and so do you.  I can imagine the relief this will give you.

Blessings everyone.  Nita

Well, we have had a nice day here today.  Robbie, granddaughter, brought her little daughter, our great granddaughter, Elsie, over to visit.  She has been coming over every Tuesday and of course we really enjoy their visit.

Janet, I hope Beth gets the help she needs.  I know this would be a great relief to you.

We have had another nice day today even though a little shower came up this afternoon.

Rom 12:9-16
9   Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good.
10   Be devoted to one another in brotherly love. Honor one another above yourselves.
11   Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord.
12   Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.
13   Share with God's people who are in need. Practice hospitality.
14   Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse.
15   Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn.
16   Live in harmony with one another. Do not be proud, but be willing to associate with people of low position. Do not be conceited.  (NIV)

Hi everyone.

Janet, so glad that someone came to see the situation and hope this person can expedite the process.

Ruth Ann, good to see you here today as well as all the other posting.

I'm so sorry that you all had trouble getting into CP today.  I left the house this morning at about 8:45 and was on the go in and out doing stuff most of the day.

I'm glad we're back now.

So nice to see you Papa John.

Janet That is an answer to prayer.  At least they are taking your concerns more seriously.

Marilyn I was at the mall looking for someone.  I walked the circuits in the mall quickly about 3 times and my knees took the brunt of the walk.  Will go slower next time.  I am applying ice, as they are about 2X the size of normal.

I didn't get back in to check the site, I didn't know it was down.  Pat how is Geordie?  Can he climb stairs yet?

Papa John how is you wife?

Well it is late I am off to bed.

Night all

Thanks for the encouragement and prayers.  And please keep Beth's needs in your prayers until this is a done deal!

Ruth, Medicare is a government program, nation wide; and Medicaid is state-by-state, paid out of state funds.

The man who came to interview us is from Hugoton.  He has a son who was injured in a car accident two years ago and is now a quadriplegic.  So the dad became interested in what help is available; did a lot of research on the net; and now is employed doing this work.  It was such a relief to have a person who actually UNDERSTANDS what we are going through, and the difficulties we have been having in trying to get some help.  (Thank you, God!) His son went to Portugal and had stem cell surgery, using his own stem cells, harvested from behind his eyes, and is now beginning to feel sensations in his legs!  That is so exciting!  He said he would rather be a paraplegic than for a baby to have to die so he could be well.  This man also told us that having family involvement is really important in these cases; he was so happy that both Darrel and I came over for the interview, along with Beth.  :)

I am going to Johnson tomorrow for an art thing.  The art teacher from the Middle School has invited several area artists to come and show the kids our work, and to talk to them for 20 minutes; three rotations of them.  They will serve us lunch; then they are having an art show.  Should be fun.  I will be leaving early, as I have to be there by 9:15, so won't be in here until later tomorrow.

Papa John, good that Robbie and Elsie come to visit.  Seeing grands and great-grands just has to cheer us up and make us feel better!

Abby called and said their trip to the one-room schoolhouse was postponed because it was too cold today.  (I don't think they have heat in the building.)  They will try again Thursday.

They are predicting FROST for all of Southwest Kansas tonight!  >:( :( :P  NOT good.
