Morning Devotional...

Lo, this is our God; we have waited for Him, and He will save us: this is the Lord. . . O Lord, have we waited for Thee. . . O Lord, be gracious unto us; we have waited for Thee. . . But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength.
Isaiah 25:9, 26:8, 33:2, 40:31

Blessed are all they that wait for Him.
Isaiah 30:18

Waiting is a most difficult task.

Some of us are such impatient people, yet we find ourselves constantly waiting in line at the store, at the traffic light, or for the results of some medical test.

The believer is to learn the lesson of the Saviour and be a patient person, giving the Lord the opportunity to work all things together for good according to His purpose (Rom. 8:28).
W. G.

Wait, my soul, upon the Lord,
to His gracious promise flee;
Laying hold upon His Word,
"As thy days, thy strength shall be."

Morning has broken, like the first morning
Blackbird has spoken, like the first bird
Praise for the singing, praise for the morning
Praise for the springing fresh from the world

Sweet the rain's new fall, sunlit from heaven
Like the first dewfall, on the first grass
Praise for the sweetness of the wet garden
Sprung in completeness where his feet pass

Mine is the sunlight, mine is the morning
Born of the one light, eden saw play
Praise with elation, praise every morning

Good morning.

Church was wonderful and busy.  We stayed for both services.  Yesterday was 'The Bridge'...teen church.  So with so many tapes being requested, Jerry and I didn't leave church until 12:30 p.m.  We then ate out, went to WalMart and came home.  Jerry watched NASCAR while I got caught up on the pc.

Inky kind of scared me last evening.  She was hot.  Very out of it.  Slept a lot.  But she seems much better this morning.  Eating and drinking and even jumped up on the desk for her treats.  She will be fine.

I start drinking this stuff in 20 minutes.  About 16 ozs. of stuff.  Then another 16 ozs at 8:15 a.m.  Then I have the CT scan at 9 a.m.  I don't know when the results will be told to me.  Probably will have another doctor appointment to tell me what was found if anything.  From what I read, I will be put on a diet to lose weight.  I need that, I know.

Good morning!

Etta Sue~glad Inky is feeling better.  I will be thinking of you today and praying for you.

Ria~My daughter sang a song that had Ephesians 3:17-19 in the words of the song.  Great poem too.  (hug)

Great devotion Pat!  Thanks!

Etta Sue, I had a CT scan Friday so I had to drink those two bottles of white stuff too.  Sometime this week I will get the results.  The doctor feels like the cancer did not spread but we will see.

Good to see Ria this morning, and Pat with her good devotional, and Sonja who IS a gem.

Heb 4:12-16
12   For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.
13   Nothing in all creation is hidden from God's sight Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account.
14   Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has gone through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to the faith we profess.
15   For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are-- yet was without sin.
16   Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.  (NIV)

Hello everyone!!  Etta, I'm thinking of you right now.  Hope everything goes well.

I've got to get little man dressed and to my mom's house so I can get to work.

A damp rainy day here in Western NC.  But we need the rain.

take care, and if work is slow, I'll try to get back in!

Hi everyone.  Been walking this morning and then had coffee at the cafe.  Came home and prepared for the class I will coach today.  Think I will probably be working at the computer for the class.

Papa John, those verses from Hebrews should certainly make all of us pause.  It is a very sobering thought that norhting in all creation is hidden from God's sight.

Hope the results from the CT scan you had and the one you are having Etta Sue will have very good results.  I have to prepare today for a flex sigmoid test tomorrow afternoon.  Not something any of us look forward to but an important test.  Will be fasting after lunch today.

Ria, it is hard to watch our parents sort of fade away before our eyes.  I can certainly feel for you as you see this happening to your father.

Sonja, glad to see that you are feeling a lot better.  How do you find out if you are allergic to that OTC drug?  It sounds like your daughter is a real songbird.  Yesterday at church we had our two young youth choirs sing.  The preschoolers particularly did a wonderful job and were so cute.

Pat, your devotional points out such a failing that we human seem to have in being impatient.  Chris, this devotional seems to dovetail with the Tozer piece you had yesterday or the day before on prayer.

Janet, I know it tugs your heart strings to hear the planning that Abby does for you for the weekends.  What a compliment to both you and Darrell.  I have the warmest memories of my grandmother who always greeted me with her arms wide-open and always had time for my sister and I.  I loved her so much and still miss her after so many years.  We lived close so was able to spend many hours with her and after I grew up and moved away I always tried to stop by her house first, if possible, when I would come back to my folks for a visit.

Guess I better stop for now as have to leave to coach the computer class at the SeniorNet Computer Learning Center.  This is week 3 of the 8 week course.

Hope everyone has a wonderful day.

Larry, we have a Allergy specialist that my son Troy goes to because he is allergic to everything natural.  They will poke me with a plastic toothpick thing that has the goldenseal serum on it. If it turns red or blotchy then they know that I am allergic.  Pretty sympol prosedure.

Hope your day goes well.

I am off to start my day.  Hope you all have a wonderful day.

Hello, everybody!  I got my swimsuit this morning, but Darrel said we'd better go knock a hole in the wall of the bathroom off my painting room.  There is a leak there behind the wall---ugh.  I hate plumbing problems!  I found some slimy toadstools growing along the bottom of the wall.  Yuck!  So, anyway, another job to do, mess to clean up, and repairs to make.  :(  But I am happy Darrel knows how to deal with these things, it saves us a bundle of $$.

Thanks, Sonja and Larry for your kind words about Abby and our relationship with her.  I had her brothers here a lot when they were small, too--seems like such a short time ago!--and now that they are nearly grown, they seldom have time to come to our house.  But the relationship we developed with them in their tender years endures.  And they always greet me with open arms, just as I greeted them when they were small enough for me to scoop them off their feet.  God sure had a good idea, in grandkids! ;D ;D

I have framing to do, laundry, and want to sort out stuff that we pulled out of the bathroom cabinet.  I'm trying to downsize.  That is hard for me to do, because I always think maybe I will find a good use for things later.  Any of you have that problem?  :-\

I enjoyed the devotional and the links, Pat, and appreciate all your work keeping us up to date here.  I am still having problems getting pictures to post, but today they are working on our cable line just down the road, so maybe that will make a difference--I hope!

Ria, I do hope they have a cancellation at the hospital so your husband can get in earlier, and find help for his snoring problem.  By the way---you are also MY favorite Hollander!  :) :D ;D

I have to get with it or I will never get three days' worth of work done today!

Thanks Pat for todays devotion.

Ursula:  Nice to see you posting as well.  Did you move or am I thinking of someone in the past?

Papa John:  Thank you for noticing - I send a prayer for your all clear notice from the doctor this time.

Etta Sue:  Thinking of you as well.

I just cleaned the guest room spiffy again as we may have our son's girlfriend here as she has business in the area very early tomorrow morning.  And, then we should have company arriving Thursday at the earliest as they travel through.  It has been active here.

Hello Everyone!
Well, I got woke up this morning by a neighbor saying that my son was outside-this is the 2nd time he has done this. So, he was disciplined for it. I mean I have locks above the doors so the little poop tipped a laundry tub over to climb up and unlock the door. I guess I need to set my alarm and get up earlier in the A.M. So, pray I can get to sleep at night to do that-I have trouble sleeping sometimes at night. Anyway-thats how my morning started. I did spank him because he did disobey me by going out when I told him not to last time- I also told him he wasn't going out later to play but, I have to do something to teach him what he did was wrong.
Yesterday was a good day for me-My daughter Lindsey and I went to Michaels to a One Stroke Painting Demo-and I am going to sign up for her class on Friday-I am excited. I even bought Lindsey her first set of paint brushes because they were 10 dollars off for the package. We then came home and practiced. Today-we have school and I have to clean the house-later I will practice more painting.
May you all have a blessed day.
Hugs
Rachelle

Well today I am going to WM's then to Fay's to work. I blesses me to be a blessing to someone else.

Al I am praying for you!!

It is always so nice to come in to CP each morning and read the posts from the night before and what has been posted each day. This is where I have that first cup of tea or coffee. I know I haven't posted much lately but my time has been spent productively away from the computer.

The service last night was done completely by our youth, all the preaching too.

Amazing Love    (http://christianphotographers.com/sounds/amazinglove.mid)
(Click to hear music)

My Lord what love is this?
That paid so dearly
That I, the guilty one, may go free.

Chorus:
Amazing love, oh what sacrifice
The Son of God, given for me
My debt He paid, and my death He died
That I, might live.
That I, might live.

And so, they watched Him die
Despised and rejected
But oh, the blood He shed, flowed for me.

Chorus:
Amazing love, oh what sacrifice
The Son of God, given for me
My debt He paid, and my death He died
That I, might live.
That I, might live.

And now, this love of Christ
Will flow, like rivers
Come wash, your guilt away, And live again.

Chorus:
Amazing love, oh what sacrifice
The Son of God, given for me
My debt He paid, and my death He died
That I, might live.
That I, might live.

HOW ABOUT THIS TIE-IN LARRY! LOL :)

April 26

Prayer: Be Patient

Rejoicing in hope, patient in tribulation, continuing steadfastly in
prayer.
--Romans 12:12

Think of the kernels of grain, the seed, that the farmer plants in
the ground in the fall of the year. How patient the farmer must be!
Throughout the long, cold winter the seed is dormant. There is no
evidence at all that it is there--covered by the cold earth itself.
The snows come and go. The ground freezes and thaws. Does the
farmer lie awake at night worrying that those seeds he placed in
the ground may be ineffective? He does not. He knows that spring
will come!

And in due course, the sunshine of March or April warms the air.
Spring rains water the ground. The farmer knows then that it will
not be long until green shoots suddenly break out from their
covering of earth. And in their own time, great waving fields of
grain are ready for the harvest. The farmer's faith in the seed he
planted is fully justified.

Likewise, God wants us to be patient with every prayer and
petition we sincerely send up to that heavenly altar. Our praying
done in the Spirit cannot be ineffective. It is as though God is
saying to us: "You have planted the seed. You have prayed for My
will to be done and for My kingdom to come on earth.... The
effective prayers of my son, Jesus, will join with the effective
prayers of righteous men and women. Be patient and put your trust
in Me, day by day!"  Jesus Is Victor!, 122.

"Lord, I'm tempted to jot down, 'Give me that patience, and give
it to me now!' That's so typical of our hurried mind-set. Change
that mind-set for me today, Lord, and give me a patient,
steadfast faith, with a willingness to wait for the harvest.
Amen."

Back from coaching the computer class and stopping at both the library and the grocery store.  We are finally having a rainy day and we really need it.  It is about 20 degrees cooler than we have been having.

Larry, the one liners are great especially:

QuoteThe good Lord didn't create anything without a purpose, but mosquitoes come close.

I haven't ever found any good purpose for mosquitoes myself.  But then the secret things belong to the Lord.  Maybe God put them here to keep us humble.  Here are great big powerful people who are tormented by a little buzzing insect.

In any case we know that God wants us to be humble.

1 Pet 5:5-6. . . . All of you, clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, because, "God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble."  Humble yourselves, therefore, under God's mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time.  (NIV)

A minister dies and is waiting in line at the Pearly Gates.

Ahead of him is a guy who's dressed in sunglasses, a loud shirt, leather jacket, and jeans.

Saint Peter addresses the man wearing somewhat sloppy clothes, "Who are you, so that I may know whether or not to admit you to the Kingdom of Heaven?"

The guy replies, "I'm Jack Thomas Jr., taxi-driver, of Noo Yawk City."

Saint Peter consults his list. He smiles and says to the taxi-driver, "Take this silken robe and golden staff and enter the Kingdom of Heaven."

The taxi-driver goes into Heaven with his robe and staff. Then it's the minister's turn. He stands up tall and booms out, "I am Joseph Snow, pastor of Saint Mary's Church, for the last forty-three years."

Saint Peter consults his list. He says to the minister, "Take this cotton robe and wooden staff and enter the Kingdom of Heaven."

"Just a minute," says the minister. "That man before me was a taxi-driver, and he gets a silken robe and golden staff. Why, How can this be?"

Saint Peter, looks to the preacher and says,

"Up here, we work by results,"

"While you preached, people slept. While Jack drove, people prayed."

I've had so many chuckles today.  It's been good too as I'm in one of those "low" times.  Thanks Janet!  HAHAHA!

Pat: Again thanks for today's inspiration.

Sarah:  I clearly remember our son being concerned with the fact that he was in his last year of high school feeling very scared. The door of education was closing and now the door of the future was opening. What do I do and what lies ahead?

Good evening friends:

Just before heading for bed, I thought I'd pop in here and see what you all have been doing.

This was a very "unproductive day" for me.  The bit of laundry that I did manage to do, and iron, is still sitting on top of the dryer;(at least its ironed...LOL) my dishwasher needs emptying, and Rags still needs one last time out before he snuggles in his little bed.

Thank you all for continued prayers for Norm.  He has had three weeks without abdominal pain and nausea.  This Thursday he sees the specialist in Hamilton for a re-check, and hopefully with the improvement in his health, some of the pain medication can be reduced.

Norm even went to church alone yesterday, this sounds insignificant to you, but believe me....this was unheard of a few years ago. (going to church without ME, is what I am meaning to say.)

Etta Sue:  I am praying for you; praying that you will have a good report, and that your tests went well.

Rachelle:  It made me think of years gone by.... when I read of your little fellow going outside your home without permission.  My sister had similar problems with her son doing the same when he was about 4 yrs. old.  How old is your little boy that you are talking about?

Papa John:  I am anxious to hear how you made out with your medical tests.  Do you have any results yet?

Pat:  If you could find the music : "Draw me Nearer"., I'd sure love to sing along with you. It is such a special hymn, the words; " draw me nearer to Thy precious bleeding side".....so appropriate now at this time of year., even though Easter has come and gone, all too quickly.

I'm trusting everyone will have a good rest tonight.

Lovingly.,....Judy M. :)

Good Evening Everyone:

I was not feeling well today and came home from work at noon.   Feeling a little better now.   I think I will go to bed early.

Good evening everyone.  I have finally finished reading all the posts for the past two days.  The devotionals and hymns are lovely and had some chuckles along the way.  Thanks.

We are having a heat wave here on the island.  More like July than April.  That would be great if only things were not getting too dry.  The garden now has to be watered!

I went to the 'little city' and carpet bowled this morning.  Had to skip two games.  Lost one by two points and won the other by five....Not a bad morning.

Working hard at getting over this blue period and determined to 'Bloom Where Planted.'  Thanks for the email Marilyn.  I have such a lovely home to live in and no reason to be depressed....Find that petting the bunnies is nice.  The little blind one keeps kissing me and makes sounds like a cat purring.

Etta Sue and Papa John, I will keep you in my prayers and trust all will go well with your tests.  Wouldn't it be great if one didn't have to drink all that yucky stuff?

Must go now.  Pleasant dreams all and God Bless.
Liz

Time to lock the door.  I've been putting it off as I've been enjoying the hymn for tomorrow.  It's one of my very favorites.

I hope you all enjoy it as well.

Hi Liz!

Here's tomorrow's New Every Morning (http://christianphotographers.com/community/index.php?topic=2747.0)
