Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Morning Devotional...

Solomon Solves a Problem
1 Kings 3:16-28  NLT

16Some time later, two prostitutes came to the king to have an argument settled. 17"Please, my lord," one of them began, "this woman and I live in the same house. I gave birth to a baby while she was with me in the house. 18Three days later, she also had a baby. We were alone; there were only two of us in the house. 19But her baby died during the night when she rolled over on it. 20Then she got up in the night and took my son from beside me while I was asleep. She laid her dead child in my arms and took mine to sleep beside her. 21And in the morning when I tried to nurse my son, he was dead! But when I looked more closely in the morning light, I saw that it wasn't my son at all."

22Then the other woman interrupted, "It certainly was your son, and the living child is mine."

"No," the first woman said, "the dead one is yours, and the living one is mine." And so they argued back and forth before the king.

23Then the king said, "Let's get the facts straight. Both of you claim the living child is yours, and each says that the dead child belongs to the other. 24All right, bring me a sword." So a sword was brought to the king. 25Then he said, "Cut the living child in two and give half to each of these women!"

26Then the woman who really was the mother of the living child, and who loved him very much, cried out, "Oh no, my lord! Give her the child--please do not kill him!"

But the other woman said, "All right, he will be neither yours nor mine; divide him between us!"

27Then the king said, "Do not kill him, but give the baby to the woman who wants him to live, for she is his mother!"

28Word of the king's decision spread quickly throughout all Israel, and the people were awed as they realized the great wisdom God had given him to render decisions with justice.
In what situation in your life do you presently need God's wisdom?

Solomon's settlement of this dispute was a classic example of his wisdom.  This wise ruling was verification that God had answered Solomon's prayer and given him an understanding heart.

We have God's wisdom available to us and we pray and request it.  But, like Solomon, we must put it into action.  Applying wisdom to life demonstrates our understanding.

Pat and Karma ~ I think it was the two of you and maybe more but YES, I will be able to go see Jerry when he moves into a Nursing Home in Ohio.  Lynn is about 2 hours from me now.  AND Ivalou has two daughters that are within 8 miles from Lynn.  SO Ivalou and I can go to Ohio.  She can visit with her daughters/grandchildren/great-grandchildren while I go see Jerry.  We can stay at one of her daughter's...nice Bed and Breakfast...and return the next day.  I have already gotten emails from one daughter saying it will be fine for me to stay anytime at her house whether they are home or not.  This is the daughter that has 4 children so I am sure they will be home.

This will be so much more convenient for Lynn...she is a single Mom raising two boy...10 & 13 years old.  So she has to work but she can go daily to see her Dad once he gets moved.  Now I won't go every other day like I do now except on weekends but I can go once a week at least and perhaps spend all day depending on how he is.  I love staying with Ivalou's daughter and her family.  We are going the first weekend in June anyway because three of the girls are in a dance recital.

Ivalou doesn't drive that far any more so this will be an opportunity for her to see her family more often.  Just remember, we will have to come home and mow and also make sure my two girls have food, water and clean litter box.

Time to call it a night.  I am bushed!!!!  Too many late nights in a row.

Hello to everyone.

Glad to hear that plans are in the making for Jerry to go to rehab, Etta Sue.  Having been in a rehab facility myself ( on more than one occasion)., I can tell you that the care will be more specialized for his needs.  I'd say that this is definitely progress for him.  Is Jerry able to understand that he will be moved?

I hope that you will be able to accompany him on the day of the move.  Having a familiar face nearby, will make the translation far more settling for him.

How the Earth Is Filled

"For the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord, as the waters cover the sea" (Habakkuk 2:14).

The very first command given to Adam and Eve was: "Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth . . ." (Genesis 1:28). This might seem to imply there had been a previous population (so-called "pre-adamites") but the word "replenish" (Hebrew, male) means simply "fill." Actually, in the King James Old Testament, it is translated by the Old English word, "replenish," only seven times, whereas it is translated "fill" or "filled" or "full" some 250 times. The precise meaning is "fill."

Even today, with our so-called "population explosion," the earth is far from being filled with people. One thinks of our vast deserts, and inaccessible mountain ranges, plus the frozen wastes of Antarctica, for example. It may, however, once have been filled in the much more habitable world before the Flood, but it also was "filled with violence through them" (Genesis 6:11,13). This, in fact, was the very reason God sent the great Flood to "destroy them with the earth."

The time is coming, however, as seen in Nebuchad-nezzar's prophetic vision, as interpreted by Daniel the prophet, when a great stone-representing the future kingdom of God-will have "filled the whole earth" (Daniel 2:35). Then the great doxology of the psalmist will be reality. "And blessed be His glorious name for ever: and let the whole earth be filled with His glory; Amen, and Amen" (Psalm 72:19).

The prophet Isaiah also spoke of this time. "They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain: for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the Lord, as the waters cover the sea" (Isaiah 11:9). The later prophet Habakkuk in our text, beautifully echoed these words of Isaiah. HMM

Good Morning to one and all.

Etta Sue thank you so much for the devotional this mornnig and all the help you continue to give to Pat by posting the devotional each week. You are always so faithful to post welcome images to all who join the site. I am praying for Jerry and for you. Did you get the Stevia?

Three weeks ago I ordered an new Bible, Amplified version, from All Bibles.com it still has not arrived, when I called them yesterday they told me that because it was shipped "
Media Mail" it could be hung up someplace on some dock, and if it was not here by Friday to call them and they would ship another then if I get two I can send one back to them. When I went to the USPS tracking site  it said that thye bible had left Richmond, California on the 11th I definitely should have had it by now as Richmond is only  about 200 miles from here. Ah the frustration of the snail mail. ::)

I didn't go to bible Study last night because of the pain in my right knee it felt like  if I stepped on it wrong or turn it would pop right out of place. Weird feeling!! ???

Hi, friends,

I dashed home for a quick bite of lunch and an "inspect the territory" outing with the dogs.

It's raining today - and a cold front is due to come in. So, I dressed warmly.

My bunch of kale was needing to be cooked, so I put it in to cook first thing upon arrival, and it smells SOOOOO good! I just HAD to have a bit before going back to work. Since it's a very small amount, there will be one serving for this evening, and that's all - no left overs.

In order to make it to Atlanta to attend Kassie's piano recital, I've had to reschedule the doctor appt until lunchtime on Tuesday. I'm still very anxious to see what my weight loss has been.

Y'all have a wonderful day.\

Hi ho, hi ho, it's back to work I go...

Larry Hanna

Hi everyone.  Just a quick note this evening as I am beat.  We had quite a day.  I decided to take our older car as the newer one is having a problem with the security system that sometimes won't let me start the car for awhile.  We had to leave at 7 am to be sure we were there for my 9 am appointment as the traffic is so terrible at that time of the morning.

I decided to stay off the Interstate and all seemed well until about an hour into the trip and when I slowed down the car lost power and when I had to come to a stop the engine ran very rough and then died.  I had to restart about 2 or 3 times before it would stay running and we could move.  We made it to the hospital ok and to the other appointments we had in the area and at about 4 pm were ready to start home.

Once again we had several of the same problems but by driving no faster than 35 miles an hour we were able to finally get ourselves home.  We were very thankful to be home.  I called and will take it to the garage tomorrow to try to find the problem.  I have an appointment on Tuesday (earliest I could get it in) for the newer car to be checked out.

So we will be staying close to home over the weekend unless I can get the older car fixed tomorrow.  The newer car runs fine when it starts so we will probably take it on Monday when Pat has an afternoon appointment back over in the area we were today.  Needless to say it was a tense day.  My pulmonary funtions test went very well and the tech said I did very well on it.  Knew I didn't have any lung problems.  I won't know the ejection factor from the MUGA test until next week.

I quickly read over the new postings in NEM since I posted yesterday.  Etta Sue, I was glad to see you will be able to see Jerry on a weekly basis as know it will mean a lot to him.

Larry, I am glad you made it safely home, and hope you get both cars to running good again.  You certainly need dependable transportation.  I saw a program on TV today about how awful the traffic is in the Atlanta area.  My goodness!  Makes me glad to live "in the middle of nowhere."

Etta Sue, so glad you will be able to visit Jerry, and that he will be near his daughter.  It is so nice that Ivalou and you live so close to each other and enjoy the same things.  Please let Jerry know we are all still praying for and pulling for him.

I had fun in first grade today.  ;D  The program was a talent show for 4th, 5th and 6th graders.  One little girl sang "Wouldn't it be Loverly" and was dressed like Mary Poppins.  MY GOODNESS!!  She did a marvelous job, accent and all!  I was so impressed.

Abby seemed really tired today, so I helped her clean her room and then left (after school, of course).  Mark was making dinner for the family.  He is doing quite well one-handed.  He was working on his homework, typing with one hand.  He and I are looking forward to the trip to Salina together next week.

I think I had better go check out this bowling madness.................... :)

Sue

Thank you Pat.  I got a 156.....after a few games that is.  It took me a while to get the hang of it.  Just like real bowling.  I shudder to think what my average would be now, I've been away from it for a few years.

Now must try to get some sleep.  I had to work the closing shift at the store tonight, and must be in for the opening tomorrow morning.  I am still pretty wound up, but must try to get some sleep.

Night everyone.

Pat

Well, my high score is now 188.

I took my laptop to the bedroom and put it on a pillow that Pat Hanna made for Jack several years ago and bowled in my bed!  I finally got up to 188!

Lot of fun!
