Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

FOLLOW YOUR DREAM

"And Moses said unto God, Who am I, that I should go unto Pharaoh, and that I should bring forth the children of Israel out of Egypt? And he said, Certainly I will be with thee."
(Exodus 3:11-12)

Have you ever had a Holy Spirit inspired dream, a dream of doing something really great for Jesus? A dream of being so prosperous, for instance, that you can finance a nationwide revival? A dream of leading thousands of people to the Lord?

At one time or another, you probably have, but perhaps you backed away from it. Maybe you thought, "Oh my, I couldn't do that. Satan's kept me defeated for so long I have a poor self-image."

If so, I have some good news for you. If you'll believe God, even a poor self-image won't keep you from success. Look in the book of Exodus and you'll see a man who proved that. His name was Moses.

Moses didn't have a very good self-image. He'd made a terrible mistake early in his career. It was a mistake that drove him into the wilderness and kept him there for 40 years herding somebody else's sheep.

He'd once dreamed of being a deliverer of God's people, but no more. As far as he was concerned, he was finished...a failure...a flop!

But God didn't think so. In fact, when God came to Moses in that wilderness, He didn't ask for Moses' credentials. He didn't mention his shady history. He just told him to go see Pharaoh and tell him to let God's people go.

Moses, however, was still wrestling with his poor self-image. "Who am I that I should go to Pharaoh?" he stammered.

You know what God said in response? He just said, "Certainly, I will be with thee."

You see, it didn't matter who Moses was. What mattered was that the living God was with him. The same thing is true for you today. You don't need a history of successes behind you to answer God's call. You don't need a string of spiritual credentials. All you need is the presence of the Lord.

Think about that when the devil tells you you're a failure, when he says you'll never be able to do what God has put in your heart to do. Put him in his place. Tell him it doesn't matter who you are because the living God is with you.

Then dare to follow your dream!

Hi all.  Just wanted to point you to the "Testimony" section.  We have started a thread as a memorial to Jerry, since it is impractical/impossible to be in attendance at his funeral.

Have a good day.

Marilyn

Thanks for starting that thread Karma. I was there last night but will go back again today.

Thank you Janet for the devotional.

I will be back before I go to work to write some more. For now I want to read allthe threads and get ready for work, I am meeting Jenny online at 8:30 am.

Morning!  Hope you all have a wonderful day.

karmat

Ahhh, it's Saturday.  A rainy, gray, deary Saturday.  Guess that means it is a good day to clean the house.  I hate coming home from church to a messy house, but I do it almost every week.  Maybe this week will be different!

Travis has informed us that he wants to go take pictures today.  So, since that is also what Bernard and I enjoy, guess we'll have to find somewhere!

Take care, have a good day.

Etta -- If you check in, what is the name of the funeral home and where is it?

Marilyn

Ok I am baack before I go to work and before I meet Jenny.

I have a load of laundry in the dryer and 1 in the washer. Today I will go shopping for Fay. Nothing much new here another overcast day, it may or may not rain here today.

Thursday Jan gave me a bouquet of Lillies that I have posted a couple of photos of in this month's challenge.. I have also resized some of the photos from Savannah's little League game that I went to and will get those posted later today.

I am praying for everyone here who has asked for prayer and also those who have not asked for prayer.

Etta Sue

Hi...I am checking in.  I got a call from the minister earlier and Lynn, Jerry Lee, Nermin, Daniel and maybe Lynn's boy-friend are going to meet here with the minister to 'get some stuff on Jerry'.  Glad I got up this morning and cleaned the house.

Karma and all the other if you want to know.  The name of the funeral home is Erlewein Mortuary, 1484 West US 40, Greenfield, IN, 46060.  The viewing will be 1-3 p.m. May 1 followed by the funeral at 3 p.m....same day.  (Later will be a cremation)

I am having so many happy memories today of Jerry.  I know he is well.  I know he is happy.  And I know I will see him again some day.  He has spent his time in this earthly world...now he has started his eternal time in Heaven.

I am wondering if Pat is all right.  I thought she would make the corrections when she checked in; as I was not able to copy and paste in the codes for the graphics last night.  Strange; but I get a whole different little screen when I am trying to do that on here than I do anywhere else.  And ctrl + c doesn't work either.  I guess one day without graphics won't make a lot of difference in the overall scheme of things.

Etta Sue, glad you are doing well and remembering the good things and good times with Jerry.  That's the way it should be, but I know you will also have times of missing his presence, too.  God bless you.

Karma, which won out?  House cleaning or picture taking?  ;)

Darrel and I had such a good time at the Senior Citizens Prom last night.  There was a group of high school juniors there (they helped sponsor it) and it was fun to see the girls in their Prom dresses, and just being around the young people was fun.  We danced a lot, laughed a lot, and visited with some friends we don't often get to see.  We also had prom pictures taken, which they printed out and presented to us before we left.  All the sponsors expressed appreciation for us coming---and we appreciate all their work and expense in putting this on for us.

Today we attended a driving awareness thing sponsored by BP Company, it was quite informative.  They had all kinds of booths relating to traffic safety and driving awareness, and then they served hot dogs for lunch.  :)

I just got home from Hugoton with Abby.  She was missing Grandma, and Grandma was missing her.  She will go to church with us tomorrow, and we are having a church dinner to welcome our new pastors.  She loves Children's Church at our church.

I hope you are all having a God-blessed day today.

Ruth

We have a cold, wet and dreary day here in our part of Ontario. Mel was to go fishing but decided to say home and do some odd jobs instead.  I to have got a lot of those little things done as well,  this kind of day is sometimes a good thing perhaps it is mother nature's way to slow us down.

Dinner is left overs waiting for the finishing touches.

Janet thanks for the devotional

Big hugs for Etta & so I do hope that things will go well for you tomorrow & I will be praying for you and the family.  Hope that your still planning on coming up on Tuesday so just give me a CALL on Tuesday morning early ... before you leave.  Try to leave early enough so that you can get her before I have to leave to pick up KALYN & then we can go together to get her Tuesday.  So, I am sure that we will be in touch.

Hugs & Prayers for you SIS !!

PS: New picture of me has been posted hope that everyone approves ... Etta it was to be a surprize for you ... but SURPRIZE ... see you soon !!

Larry Hanna

Hi everyone.

Tbear, I like you new picture and certainly approve (not that you need my approval but you asked :)

Janet, sounds like you all had a great time last night and a big weekend planned with Abby and welcoming your new pastor and family.

Ruth, we have had a very wet and dreary day here as well.  This was our annual Grayson Day celebration with special vendors and craft dealers set up in the park, a big parade and other events.  The senior group sells cookies.  I think it might have been washed out.  We did not try to go.

Etta Sue, it is good to see that you are recalling so many happy memories of your times with Jerry.  These memories help us over these early days of saddness.

Marilyn, you certainly stay busy.  I will check out your lilies.

Karmat, hope you all found some great spots for photos today.  That sounds like a very nice family outing.

Sonja, sure you have been very busy with your photo shoots this weekend.  Eight jobs sounds like a lot and sure there are many hours of work involved after the shoot.

I spent all afternoon redoing the results pages for the Gwinnett Senior Golden Olympics website.  I had prepared about 14 different pages of results of the sporting events but didn't like the appearance of them very much so decided to redo them.  It only took me three interations to get them as I wanted them to appear.  I will be updating results for the next 12 days or so and then the work will be done for another year.

Pat, hope you are all right.

WinterRose

GOLLY GEE ... thanks Larry as your the 1st to see the new look !!  Hope that everyone else will enjoy it too.  See you all soon !!

Pat

Hi Everyone...

I'm sorry, Janet.  I hadn't noticed the no graphics in your post.  My kids have been here all day and I've run to the computer off and on to check email every so often and that's about it. Andrew was downloading music and working with photos on this computer when he wasn't doing things for me. Usually Saturday's are a quiet day for me as all the kids have their own thing to do with their families but Andrew and Terena with Rebecca and the new dog came at about quarter to 10 this morning saying that they just wanted to fix the way the A/C was in the window and they ended up going home about 2 hours ago!

It was a nice day.  They took me shopping for some things as I still find it difficult to drive the gear shift car.  And Terena helped with fresh ice packs and heating pad during the day to ease the spasms as they came.

Etta Sue, my thoughts are with you at this sad time continually and will be tomorrow as well as you attend the memorial service.
