Morning Devotional.

WHAT A FUTURE!!

"God hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus: That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus."
(Ephesians 2:6-7)

All my life people told me the reason God saved us was so that when we got to Glory, we could spend the rest of eternity loving Him and worshiping Him. But, you know, that's just not so.

It sounds pretty good, but it's just something somebody made up. God isn't selfish. He's just the opposite. He's the ultimate giver. The ultimate lover. He doesn't do anything just so He can get something in return.

Why then did He save us? The Word of God tells us He did it so that in the ages to come, He could show us the exceeding riches of His grace.

Think about that! God is going to spend eternity showing the riches of His grace to you and me.

That's why He sent Jesus into the world. He so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son. God gave Jesus so that He wouldn't be His only son. He sent Jesus so He could have more sons to love and give to--and He plans to spend the eons of time doing just that.

As a believer, you have the most glorious future ahead of you that anyone could ever ask. But don't wait until you get to Glory to enjoy it. You can start right now. You've already been seated in heavenly places!

Scripture Study: Ephesians 2:1-8

Way to go dancing Foos family.

Carolina won the men's basketball championship.  If only Tennessee had won the women's, the Shuford house would have been sitting pretty this year.  Oh well.

I hope everyone has a wonderful day.  I've got a bunch of "stuff" to do today.  So, onward and upward!!

I am not here for long as my daughter has a friend coming over for a couple of days and I have to get things done before she arrives so I just wanted to stop in and say HELLO & let everyone know that I am here & praying for everyone & so I do think of all of you often & do hope that things slow down soon so that I can get back online to be with some of my new friends.

School is coming to a close for my daughter next month & then at the end of the year my daughter will NO LONGER be a 10th GRADER but a JUNIOR in HIGH SCHOOL and so I am sure that this next year will go by very ... very fast so keep us in prayer & also me as I am sure that I am going to be needing it !!

Well, time for breakfast so take care & I will be back soon !! Etta I was so happy to hear the wonderful news about JERRY & I will continue to pray for his recovery and as I have said ... I am ONLY 2.5 hours away if you want a break !!

Good Morning To one and All. Thank you Janet for the devotional today. I will post one also in must a moment. Not much to say today. I don't know what time Fay is going to call me to go to work.

The plumber is coming to her house this morning or sometime today and she told me not to come until she calls. Well I have my other job to go to so is she calls and I am not here that's just too bad I won't be able to go to her house.

She keeps changing her mind about what time she wants me to come and it sure messes up my days.I told her yesterday that 9:30 to 1:30 is fine with me prefer mornings anyway insteday of goign at 10 or 11.

My Doctor is sending me for Physical therapy again this time for my neck and shoulder, I go for evaluation on the 22nd. Alos they changed the statin drug to Zocor.and I am going to really watch what I eat from now on. 8)

This one is from The Daily Word. I thought it would be nice for a change from what I have been posting. The Daily Word gives positive thoughts for us to think about through the day. Today's is the Divine Order of our Lives.

Daily Word — Tuesday, April 05, 2005

"But I am like a green olive tree in the house of God. I trust in the steadfast love of God forever and ever." --Psalm 52:8

Divine Order

My life is unfolding in divine order.

Looking back, it may seem that the story of my life has unfolded as a matter of happenstance. One event or occurrence, one challenge or opportunity happens that leads to another.

I know, however, that my life has unfolded in accordance with the love of God, a spiritual principle that always supports and guides me. The events of my life occur in divine order as I continue to trust in God's eternal principle of love.

I hold thoughts of oneness, speak words of oneness, and act in ways that foster oneness with God's love. As I continually align myself with the love of God, divine order is the natural result.

Good morning!  And Congratulations to Sonja, Chandraya and Mike on your dancing.  I surely would love to watch you all dance sometime!

Hey there, Karma!  Maybe your teams will win next time.

Hi Marilyn.  Not good not knowing what your work hours are.  I know I wouldn't like that myself.

It is a beautiful, sunny day here, no wind as yet.  Yesterday it got up to 87 degrees here!  Whew!  What will it be when SUMMER comes?

I hope all of you have a God-blessed, fruitful and pain-free day!

Sad News from Jeanne Lee...

Title: Re: New Every Morning~April 5
Post by: Janet on April 05, 2005, 03:32:54 PM
I am so sorry to hear of Gene's passing.  I will get an ecard off to Jeanne.  I miss her here on CP.

I spoke too soo about no wind, it is really howling now.  I am just waiting for Darrel to get home from a trouble call so we can take Beth and go vote.  Today Kansans are voting on a marriage amendment, and I pray it passes!  I got a phone call last night (one of those mass ones--how do they do that?) saying "it is just WRONG!  Vote NO!"  That sort of aggravated me, but I know the forces of evil are going all out to try to destroy marriage in this country, and all over the world.  My vote will be a definite YES  to protect marriage.

It is a very slow day here.  Everyone must be really busy, or not feeling up to par.  Sorry.

April 5

Prayer: The Top Side of Our Souls

And Jesus answered and said to her, "Martha, Martha, you are worried
and troubled about many things. But one thing is needed, and Mary
has chosen that good part, which will not be taken away from her."
--Luke 10:41-42

..every real Christian, however practical, is in some degree a
mystic, his mysticism lying on the upper side of his life. He
prays, meditates on spiritual things and communes with God and the
invisible world. Also, every Christian, however he may be dedicated
to the holy art of prayer and worship, must of necessity descend to
work and eat and sleep and pay his taxes and get on somehow with
the hard world around him. And if he follows on to know the Lord he
must serve in every useful way outlined for him in the Scriptures
of truth. To be a Christian it is necessary that he serve his
generation as well as his God.

The big problem is to keep the two elements of the Christian life
in proper balance. Martha and Mary are sisters and we need both....
Today the Christian emphasis falls heavily on the "active" life....
The current vogue favors "Christian action." The favorite brand of
Christianity is that sparked by the man in a hurry, hard hitting,
aggressive and ready with the neat quip. We are neglecting the top
side of our souls. The light in the tower burns dimly while we
hurry about the grounds below, making a great racket and giving the
impression of wonderful devotion to our task.  The Price of
Neglect, 45-47.

"Lord, help me to keep the proper balance. Help me especially to
cultivate the top side of my soul. Amen."

Hi, friends,

Maybe I could get used to going to work at 5 am, if I could get off each day at 1:30, that is!

I'll be checking on some things about my son's disability this afternoon. Will try to come back later in the day.

Hi everyone.

I was totally shocked to read of Gene's death as had no idea he had been ill.  Know we have missed seeing Jeanne  post for sometime.

Ruth Ann, sorry to see that your son is again having difficulty.  Going to work at early certainly eliminates any traffic problem but that is really early.

Sonja, congratuations to you all for the outstanding success in your dance competitions.  I was interested in the jewel names assigned to the placements.  They certainly are better names than blue, red and white.  Does this competition qualify you to go to another level or was this an event unto itself.  I didn't realize that Mike was a dancer also.

Janet, that was a very good devotional.  Certainly happy to read your very positive news regarding Beth being able to walk to your place.  Sure she was delighted as well.  Don't blow away out there in Kansas today.

Karmat, that was really a good game last night.  It sort of looked like Illinois was going to come back and perhaps win the game.  That Sean May is some kind of basketball player.  I would say he has a bright future at the professional level.  I thought the Tennessee women were going to win their game but they started to really do some poor shooting.

Marilyn, I am a bit surprised that Fay is able to change your hours all the time.  I would think you would have a designated work schedule.  It just doesn't seem fair to you for it to always be left up in the air.

Tbear, I imagine having two teenager girls in the house will keep you busy.

Jane, Suzanne and Ruth, good to see you posting today.

Pat, hope you are feeling better today.

My friend, Rod, came over after coffee this morning and we worked for about 4 hours to resolve the conflict problem I was having on my desktop computer between my new TV/FM card and a third hard drive I had installed with a special card.  We tried a number of things but finally had to switch the PCI cards around inside the computer.  Now everything is working perfectly and I am keeping an eye on the Atlanta Braves/Florida Marlins baseball game while working on my computer.

Hope everyone has a nice evening.

Sorry to hear the sad news of Jeanne Lee's husband.

I actually went to my first neighborhood coffee in all the years of living here, have been gone or too busy.  I met a new neighbor who was just widowed last year and she seems very nice.  A nice group of women here - they do all understand that we run around a lot and visit with our children so often.
Later, we went to the library, bank, used a coupon at a fabric store, and sat for a while reading the local paper while sipping coffee.  The wind is just awful today so now we are home and really do not want to get out again.  Dinner will be reheating my frozen meatloaf and baking a squash.

Soni:  What fun that dancing contest must have been for your family!  So many jewels you won!

I am going to check on Jerry's latest update.

Janet:  The wind is blowing in your direction.  I wonder if Soni has this wind.

Stuck in traffic for what felt like eons, I couldn't help but notice the license plate on the car in front of me. It read BAA BAA. I was clueless as to why they chose this -- until I looked at the vehicle the plate was attached to: a black Jeep.

While I was cooking supper and eating, Mieka was on, and left me a message asking me to tell you all that she loves and misses us. She mentioned Jerry, Etta Sue, Jeanne Lee, Karma, Beth, Jane, Pat, Mr. Moak, and a special hello to "My Papa John."  She was feeling sad today because "I went to see Mr. Choy for his day.  It will always be a sadness for me."  I was so sorry to have missed Mieka, as I have been thinking about her a lot and wondering how she is doing.

I'm going to sign off and head to bed early tonight.  I've been draggy all day today.

It is so sad to hear about Jeanne Lee's husband. It hasn't been all that long ago that I spoke to them on the phone, maybe 3 months.

Ya Know Janet I don't like the way Fay keeps changing my hours but she is my employer and can do whatever she wants to do. I still haven't told her that  I have another job, but I  am sure it will come up soon if she tries to change my hours again. I have them set pretty much the way I like them now.

I can go to my Tai Chi class first in the morning then to Fay's then to Versal's and be home by 4:30 or 5 at the latest. I can also come home to let the dogs out in between jobs.

Thank you Suzanne. I've been missing you both here and on the Masters Group.

Yes, it's so sad about Gene's passing.  Jeanne is going to be lonely now for sure.

I've been lying down this evening and just got up to make a cup of tea.  It's so nice to read all of your posts in here.

Tomorrow if it's nice weather, I'm going to try going for another walk with Geordie.  He loves to do this and it's good for me to get the exercise.  Up until now, it's been so cold but the weather is warming up now a little bit.

No, my friend's son died just before he was to have the lung transplant.  He was actually in the hospital waiting for the surgery (22 years of age) and he died.  He had just got married as well about 3 months before.

Alma, I'm sorry you are suffering so with depression.  I'll be praying for you with regard to this.  I think a good thing is to keep in touch with the Lord's people and keep communicating.

I'm locking the door for tonight and hope to go and see if I can get caught up with the photos.
