Morning Devotional...

As I was with Moses, so I will be with thee: I will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.
Joshua 1:5

What tremendous experiences Joshua encountered under the leadership of Moses.

He saw the mighty hand of God at work in Egypt and the Red Sea. He witnessed God's provision of food delivered in a supernatural way for 40 years.

The symbols of cloud and fire, day and night gave assurance of God's presence with them. When Moses died Joshua moved forward knowing God would never fail him.

Those examples were given so we too can take courage—our Lord will never leave us.
—Jim Paul

In the desert God will teach thee
'bout the God that thou has found,
patient, gracious, powerful, holy
all His grace shall there abound.
J. N. D.

Of course I'll be praying, Janie ... God knows all about it and He is in complete control of ALL things ... you and me included.  Trust Him and He will be your Comforter.

I have had some interesting experiences recently.  I am trusting my Father to bring all things to an expedient and successful conclusion.  I trust Him in all things ... and He is my ever present help in time of trouble.  I would appreciate prayers, but in the long run He is the only answer to all our questions and problems and insecurities.

Fire in the Bones

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Then I said, I will not make mention of Him, nor speak any more in His name. But His word was in mine heart as a burning fire shut up in my bones, and I was weary with forbearing, and I could not stay" (Jeremiah 20:9  ).

When God's Word really becomes a part of one's soul, that one can never be the same again. As dejected Jeremiah said in his imprisonment: "The word of the Lord was made a reproach unto me, and a derision, daily" (Jeremiah 20:8  ), he testified; so he said: "I will not . . . speak any more in His name." But he could not quit! God's Word was burning in his bones, and he must let it out. "Is not my word like as a fire? saith the Lord; and like a hammer that breaketh the rock in pieces?" (Jeremiah 23:29).

The psalmist, David, had a similar testimony. "I was dumb with silence, I held my peace, even from good; and my sorrow was stirred. My heart was hot within me, while I was musing the fire burned: then spake I with my tongue" (Psalm 39:2-3). When the resurrected Christ "expounded unto them in all the scriptures the things concerning Himself," the two disciples from Emmaus later testified: "Did not our heart burn within us, while He talked with us by the way, and while He opened to us the scriptures?" (Luke 24:27,32).

Of all the symbols applied in the Scriptures to God's Word, that of fire is the most awe-inspiring. Fire was not a discovery of some primitive man, as evolutionists imagine, but has always been an instrument of God's judgment, from the flaming sword in Eden (Genesis 3:24) to the lake of fire in hell (Revelation 21:8  ). In fact, God Himself is said to be "a consuming fire" (Hebrews 12:29).

The word of fire in the burning heart cannot be contained, but must be proclaimed at any cost. As Paul acknowledged: "Necessity is laid upon me; yea, woe is unto me, if I preach not the gospel!" (I Corinthians 9:16). HMM

Thank you Pat for the deovtional today Pat.

I am watching the Blessing of Charles and Camilla on the TV. this morning. I didn't know it was going to be on here.

I don't know how many read the updates on Joanne and Jennifer who were in that terrible car crash but I did post a link in yesterday's thread. But they still need a lot of prayer. Please go check it out.

Hi everyone.

Marilyn, I did read your updates and it sounds like there is a lot of healing that needs to occur.

Janie, I am praying for your husband's grandmother and your friend.

Pat, nice to see that you were able to get out last night.  Sometimes those spur of the moment events are most enjoyable.

I don't have much on my schedule today.  Went to coffee at the cafe.  In a little bit Pat and I are going over to look at an air filter we are considering buying for the house.  Will just be doing some web work and other computer work the rest of the day.  I also have watched much of the Prince Charles Blessing ceremony.  It was very nice.  The commentators are making such a big deal about what Camilla is wearing on her head.  People can be so cruel over such an unimportant thing.

Hope everyone has a nice day.  Etta Sue, hoping for another boring day for Jerry today.

Good morning, this will be a very busy week for me. I am a data analyst and must do a FULL survey this week. The presentation will be on Monday a week and 2 days from now.

So, if I'm absent a lot, that's probably the reason why.

Y'all take care.

I, too, have read all the prayer requests and my prayers are for those concerns as well as others that are known to God and me.  He is the healer..He knows all.

I slept in this morning.  What a delight. :D  I got up at 6 and put kitty food in their bowl.  They left me alone until Inky decided it was time for Mommy to get up.  (8:15 a.m.)  She is so sweet.  :-*  She hopped up on the bed...came up near my head...laid down...purring all the time...reached out a little paw...and barely touched me on my cheek.  That is her 'time to get up' gesture.  :)  The little pads on her paw are cool and that is what really wakes me up.  When she sees my eyes open, then she raises up so I can get an arm out from under the covers and pet her.  Of course, once I am out of the bed, she has to help me make the bed.  ::) Very hard to do with a 14 lb. car in the middle of the bed.  Ali also had to jump up to see that Mommy was awake.  Then our day began.

It is to get into the 70°'s today so I am thinking that I want to clean my deck.  It is resin so bleach and water does the trick with a scrub brush on a broom handle.  Hope it isn't too cold out there.  Sure don't want to 're-ge't my cold!!!

God Bless You One and All

Prayer: Men Who Do Not Pray

Therefore, brethren, seek out from among you seven men of good
reputation, full of the Holy Spirit and wisdom, whom we may appoint
over this business.
--Acts 6:3

Let us watch that we do not slide imperceptibly to a state where
the women do the praying and the men run the churches. Men who do
not pray have no right to direct church affairs. We believe in the
leadership of men within the spiritual community of the saints,
but that leadership should be won by spiritual worth.

Leadership requires vision, and whence will vision come except
from hours spent in the presence of God in humble and fervent
prayer? All things else being equal, a praying woman will know
the will of God for the church far better than a prayerless man.

We do not here advocate the turning of the churches over to the
women, but we do advocate a recognition of proper spiritual
qualifications for leadership among the men if they are to
continue to decide the direction the churches shall take. The
accident of being a man is not enough. Spiritual manhood alone
qualifies.  We Travel an Appointed Way, 16.

"Lord, don't ever let me have leadership that I don't deserve.
Don't ever let me become careless in prayer. Don't ever let me
rely on the women to pray while I lead. Amen."

Ha ha I too lol when I read about the 14 lb. car. Etta Sue try making a bed with a 65 lb. dog  walking around on the bed or maybe 2- 65 lb dogs. I go through that every day.

I've done  al the house work that I am going to do today here at my house anyway. Need to make a couple of phone calls before I leave here and I still have a couple of hour to do some other things. so I will

Contrary to the exagerated reports, we did not float away last night.  And this morning it's sunny and absolutely beautiful! All easterners should consider a trip to the Redwood Coast today.  The ocean, the sun . . .

Thank You, Lord, for Your beautiful earth to live on!

What a beautiful hymn that is, Chris!  I love the words and oh that we all could sing that from the heart.

Thanks for posting that link.

How's that little car, Etta Sue!  ;D

Hi Marilyn...  Off to read your prayer requests.

I'm praying Janie for your husband's grandmother.

Just a quick note before retiring for the night.  I didn't sleep very well at all....I wanted to watch the Royal Wedding....my "self alarm" woke me up at 3:am....and I couldn't get back to sleep - so - its been a very long day.

After getting my hair done., Norm and I did a little shopping at our mall.  Nothing too exciting to purchase - but a pair of much neede bed pillows, which were a good price of $30.00 for the pair.  They are an orthopedic type for sore neck and shoulders, so we'll see how well rested I feel tomorrow.

We had double scoop ice cream cones, then Norm made supper....cheese omelet., and it was good...and a meal I didn't have to cook. (I'm getting lazy at making meals, I think).

A phone call to my granddaughter in France., and that was our day.

Time to lock the door.  I want to get to bed.  I'd like to try to get out to church tomorrow morning if possible.  It's been so long...
