Morning Devotional...Children, obey your parents in all things: for this is well pleasing unto
the Lord. Fathers, provoke not your children to anger, lest they be
discouraged. Colossians 3:20-21
In their primary context these verses are God's prescription for a happy
home.
Earlier the apostle addresses the roles of the husband and wife. As
each fulfils their obligation before God the home will be a place of rest
and refreshment.
But consider the wider view of God the Father and we as
His children. As a loving Father, His primary consideration is for the
well-being of his Family.
Nothing happens by chance but by His sovereign will. How should we respond?
"If ye love Me keep My commandments."
--Charlie TempestHappy the home where Jesus name
is sweet to every ear,
Where children early lisp His fame
and parents hold Him dear.

'Steel Magnolias' was wonderful. All acting. No music, singing or dancing. The set was the beauty shop and only 6 ladies performing. Funny. Sad. Really great. And my GPS got me there and back just fine!
I called my A/C man again this morning. I know it is hot in Indiana as it is everywhere in North America but when I got home last night at 11:30 it was 79° in the room where the A/C unit is. Hotter in the other rooms. And when I got up this morning it was 77°...only went down 2° and the unit is set on 70°. This house hasn't been this hot ever, summer or winter. And I have never had the ceiling fan on high to sleep all night. Just hope he gets it fixed. Oh, yes. He is stopping by this afternoon.
Needless to say, I won't be doing too much today. I am hot natured anyway so I will just veg out until the A/C is fixed.»ïÏï«,¸¸,»ïÏï«,¸¸,»ïÏï«,¸¸,»ïÏï«,¸¸,»ïÏï«,¸¸,»ïÏï«,¸¸,»ïÏï«,¸¸,»ïÏï«,¸¸,»ïÏï«

Good morning to everyone.
Al...have a marvelous celebration this day!
1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
I sure thank y'all for the BD wishes! I must not mention my age. Why should I - I never act my age anyway?
We're possibly going to see the movie, Pirates of the Caribean(sp?) today. Our pastor recommended it. Has anybody else seen it?
As usual, it's overcast (probably fog) and cool this AM. But it's been turning sunny in the afternoon most days. And the redwood trees love to drink all that fog!
Happy Birthday Al!
Enjoy your day and take some photos!

I've just been to the thread on DPC and read lots of it but will go back and read more. This is terrible. I, for one, will be praying for this man and his family.
So nice to see you, Soni. We'll chat soon.
Love
Pat
Hi everyone. Been a busy lady today. Picked up another house cleaning job to days a month. Had to go interview today. A man from the church recommended me.
I am watering the backyard today.
Pat I try to post a few comments very day or two inthe gallery. Yesterday I got in quite a few.
TTYL Got to go now.
Good afternoon, everyone. I have the day off so am posting in the afternoon for a change. I work afternoons and evenings, so usually am the only one here when I drop in, late at night.
Thanks for the concise, Scriptural, Parent-child, exhortative analogy, Pat!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY AL!
Hey - thanks again, all of you, for the many wonderful wishes. We went and saw the movie (Pirates), and I must admit that I wasn't overwhelmed. Too many loose ends never tied up. Also, it was a little hard to follow the story line at times. Oh well - different stories for different folk.
This is just a very short post.. We're under a tornado watch and have been for about 2 hours. One they do think touched down very close by. We feel safe down here in the basement. Both Kathleen and I are down here.
Jim, even if you're alone late at night, please feel free to leave a message in here as we'll see it when we get here!
Must go and shut the computer down.
Maybe I'll be back.
well, hello. doing my daily post haha.
i see it's Al's birthday! and you went to see pirates of the caralskdjfsl [i dont know how to spell it?] i haven't even seen that yet! i've seen the first one, but that was a longgg time ago. so i'd probably have to see that one, before i would check this new one out. but i hope you had a great day, besides the movie :)
another hot one, but hopefully tomorrow it's supposed to drop a few degrees. today i read Macbeth for school. what a confusing story, but it's over with, now i just have to do tons of questions on it, and onto The Pilgrims Progress, blech. i hope i find some light in it. tonight was youth group and i'm pretty tired so i'm going to check out some other things and probably head in for the night. Pat, I pray you'll be safe wherever you are! :) hope everyone had a great day.
with love.
