Morning Devotional
Romans 3:26. "
to demonstrate at the present time His righteousness, that He might be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus."
To say that God is righteous is the same as to say that He is right and just in what He does and says. Not that we can judge Him, but the Bible says He is righteous. But how can He be just when He lets sinners off scott free? That passage in Romans 3 tells us the answer: it says, "being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, Whom God set forth as a propitiation by His Blood, through faith, to demonstrate His righteousness, because in His forbearance God had passed over the sins that were previously committed." Rom. 3:24, 25 The Blood of our Savior not only made us free, but it made God right, even though He freely "passed over" our sins! He is "righteous and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." (1 John 1:9) The Blood of Christ is what makes it right for Him to accept us into His blessed Kingdom. If our Savior had not shed His Blood on the Cross, then we could never be free, for God is just.
The measure of God's justice is the Crucifixion and abandonment of His Son. Oh let us love and worship Him!

Rise, my soul! behold 'tis Jesus,
Jesus fills Thy wond'ring eyes;
See Him now in glory seated,
Where thy sins no more can rise.
There, in righteousness transcendent,
Lo! He doth in heav'n appear,
Shows the blood of His atonement
As thy title to be there.
All thy sins were laid upon Him,
Jesus bore them on the tree;
God, who knew them, laid them on Him,
And, believing, thou art free.
God now brings thee to His dwelling,
Spreads for thee His feast divine,
Bids thee welcome, ever telling
What a portion there is thine.
In that circle of God's favor,
Circle of the Father's love,
All is rest, and rest forever,
All is perfectness above.
Blessed, glorious word "forever!"
Yea, "forever!" is the word;
Nothing can the ransomed sever,
Naught divide them from the Lord.

Thanks Al, for the great devotional. I'm reading it before I go to bed! I'm tired though but I'm going to go through it one more time.
:) GOOD MORNING FRIENDS ...
Well, I want to keep this short & also get back to work around the house. It's good to be missed by all of you & I am so glad to have the INTERNET back up & going again. As Etta told you my DAD in NH is having some tests done & he will be having something called a NUCLEAR STRESS TEST today & so I'll not know much more until later today so do keep him in prayer !!
And so ... I will come back later today to share so take care & see you all soon !!
Al,
How are you? It is so nice to read your post.. Thank you so much for the wonderful daily devontional.. It is a great feeling to know I have been forgiven and God still loves me after some of the wild mistakes I have made.. I find I have the hardest time forgiving myself..
Pat, I don't want you to fall over when you see I was here.. I am just getting back in the groove of things, All doctor reports are GOOD, and the meds are starting to take effect.. I have now had my 500,000 mile check up and have another 500,000 to go..
To all of you wonderful people here on CP, God be with you as you go thru your day and be a blessing to someone new today, in the name of JESUS!!!
All my love, Alma
Good Morning folks!
(I'm still standing here, Alma! LOL You didn't knock me over! HAHAHA! So glad that test results are good, Alma and it's always so good to see you here. Hope you've uploaded some of your wonderful photographs to our gallery.
Karen, yes, it's good to see you here and I do pray that your father's test results will be good ones.
Well, all the talk of March of the Penguins from both in here and on our local radio stations encouraged me to go out with James (my grandson) to see it last night. It wasn't showing here in Guelph anywhere so we went to Kitchener. It was just a magnificent movie. What a wonderful God we have! I couldn't help but say this all through this movie. And the photography is amazing. So for those of us who are interested in photography, I'd encourage you to see this incredible account of the life of one of God's creations in one of the most bleak places on the globe.
We have a new member, Ronkon, who I believe is from Malaysia so let's make sure he knows he's welcome here.
Now, I'm on my way to see if the concrete floor is clean for the new fridge coming tomorrow. This sure has been a hassle since the old fridge "died"!

I have put a photo of our newest family member in the gallery so please everyone come meet Lionel.. All comments are welcome.
All my love, alma
Good Morning Thanks Al for the devotion this morningQuote"being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, Whom God set forth as a propitiation by His Blood, through faith, to demonstrate His righteousness, because in His forbearance God had passed over the sins that were previously committed." I am so thankful that God has passed over my sins and set me free. there have been many times when I look back in amazement that I am even still alive and thank God for my life and what it has become.
Alma It is so good to see you here this morning posting, I have been over to your gallery to see Lionel, he is beautiful. o glad to hear that you have been given a clean bill of health.
We had a wonderful time at prayer meeting last evening. We sang a lot of the old chorus' and prayed in between singing. We are having Revival starting Sept. 14 until ???? Hey Al you are most welcome to come. The speaker is going to be a man who was going to go into professional football but got into trouble while at Fresno state University and went to prison, Where he got saved and after his release became and Evangelist. Pastor Danny has told us that is a very dynamic speaker. I think Danny said he went to High School with this man.
Ok that's it for now folks.

WELCOME TO CHRISTIAN PHOTOGRAPHERS, RONKON!!
Karen, good to see you back! And ALMA!! I didn't know about your struggle, so sorry I didn't so I could have been praying for you. But I rejoice with you in your good report! We serve such a mighty, awesome, loving God.
Pat, I knew you would like the Penguin movie! I surely did!
I have a busy day, so I better get with it!
Hi everyone. Still sitting here loading software back onto my desktop. After coffee I went to the barber since Pat said I couldn't wait any longer or she would have to get dog tags for me. It does look a lot better.
Janet, it must be quite an honor to have your paintings displayed in the museum. Is this an art show? Sure sorry to read about your mother and the falls and confusion. I can relate to what you are going through as we went through that with my mother. Hope the doctor is helpful.
A special welcome to Ronkon. I look forward to seeing your postings here on CP.
Marilyn, those hymn sings where we sing the old hymns is so enjoyable. We sing a lot of the old hymns in our traditional worship services. Yesterday we sang "Great is Thy Faithfulness" A few years ago the Presbyterian Church came out with a new hymnbook that changed the wording on a lot of the hymns and dropped a lot of those old familar hymns. Fortunately our local church did not go to that hymnal and a couple in the church donated new hymnbooks several years ago and it has many of the old hymns.
Alma, certainly happy to see you have gotten a clean bill of health. I know what it is like to be told you have cancer and believe me it is no fun.
Pat, with all the glowing reports I have read of the penguin movie here and on SeniorNet I think Pat and I may have to go see it. We seldom go to the movies but get them on DVD. Guess if I wait a little while longer it will be available on DVD. I was glad to see you were feeling up to attending the movie.
Tbear, the nuclear stress test is a way you can have a stress test without having to walk on the treadmill. At least, I think that is the case. I know there is a chemical test they can do when a person isn't able to walk on the treadmill. I don't think I would likely have a stress test again do to the condition of my heart.
Al, thanks for the devotional this morning. It was a good one.
Guess I had better get back to my software installation. I don't have to go anywhere today and will rest this afternoon as seem to be feeling tired.

Not much news today. Just glad to hear that Beth and John are doing okay.
Janet, so sorry to hear the news of your mother with her fall and confusion. Let her know you love her. What an honor to display your art!
Al, thanks for the great devotional. It is still hard for me to realize that Christ Jesus is the way to heaven and that through Him my sins are forgiven by his sacrificing act on the cross for me and all other believers. I KNOW it is true but something so simple and so complex at the same time is amzing to me.
Alma, so happy to hear you have a clean bill of health. Isn't that wonderful news?
Larry, take it slow today. That pc will be fixed someday. You need your rest.
Nita, I do believe it would be hard to raise a teenager today with all the outside influences. You just have to give them a good foundation and trust God to guide them where He wants them to be.
Pat, my little basement isn't a livable basement but it has been damp all summer. I finally realized it was because of the high humidity in Indiana this year. So I purchased a dehumidifier. It is finally drying out. I will be happy when I open the basement door and the dehumidifier has automatically shut off and the basement is dry! Have you thought of renting a power washer to clean the cement floors? But you also would have to have everything out of the basement to do that. But it does get down to the nitty gritty.
Marilyn, I have all my bills automatically deducted from my checking account. I only have to send out one bill a month by snail mail. Like Nita, a book of stamps lasts me a long time. Saves on stamps and checks.
TBear ~ I am praying for your dad. This is a stressful time for all the family. Hang in there. I did check online for the church and I know where it is. No problem at all. The only problem will be how long it will take to get from your house to the church. It is on the northwest side of Ft. Wayne.
Well, today I hope to have a do nothing day again. I have been running a lot and need to let this body rest. I do need to sweep but that won't take long or much effort. A book and my swing sounds great since it is cooler out there today...74° F. I think I will check out if the March of the Penguins is around here. Sounds like a movie Kitty and I would like to see. ~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^

Hello all!
Welcome, ronkon!
We did storytime today, now it is time for lunch.
Then I have to fold like a gadzillion pieces of clothign. I've let it pile up until it has taken over the living room. :(
Gotta run, I promised Travis he could watch a DVD.

Thanks, everybody, for your words about the devotional - the Gospel is indeed the most wonderful message there is!
Larry - you said,
QuoteTbear, the nuclear stress test is a way you can have a stress test without having to walk on the treadmill. At least, I think that is the case. I know there is a chemical test they can do when a person isn't able to walk on the treadmill. I don't think I would likely have a stress test again do to the condition of my heart.
Actually, unless I'm mistaken, the nuclear stress test incorporates a radioactive isotope, which you either have injected or swallow. It can then be radiographed during the treadmill stress test. At least that's what they did with me.
Relative to paying bills different ways - I use the snail mail very, very little anymore. I use my debit card and either pay online or over the phone. Seems to work quite well.
Much activity here as we have two grandchildren with us from yesterday until mid Wednesday. We took them to a street fair yesterday and today we just returned from fishing and a picnic. Don is out buying a few groceries as I write. They are allowed one movie tonight after reading. Oh, how fun to be teaching our eight-year-old granddaughter to cast her line and she is the image of her mother. We are so fortunate. Now the children want us to move closer and even promise to shovel the snow for us if we just move - I don't believe Don is ready to leave this smaller town though.
Pat: I think that Abba Father is now one of my favorite songs. Thank you. I do hope your cold/flu isn't a problem this week.
Alma: Great news of thanksgiving for your report on a "clean bill of health".
Ronkon: Welcome!!!!!![/color] Tell us about yourself and we would very much like to hear about where you live.
Sipping blueberry tea and relaxing. A long day outdoors with the grands and we had to leave because the skies darkened. We watched a pilot in a little plane make loops and stalling the engine and all kinds of fun which is also dangerous because of being right in the hills.
Carol
A very good devotional, Al, to remind us of God's grace and love. God IS just AND the justifier of those who have faith. Praise God.
And good to see Pat, T-Bear, Alma, Marilyn, Janet, Larry, Etta Sue, Karmat,Carol, and also a BIG WELCOME TO RONKON.
A good source which explains the Nuclear Stress Test is here http://www.arundelheart.com/new_page_3.htm
We had an excellent worship both yesterday morning and last night. Next Sunday our Bible classes will be moving into our new educational addition. It is a very exciting time for us. We are running around 700 in our Bible classes and 1,000 in our morning worship. We are beginning a new small group program with around 30 small groups which will be meeting three Sunday nights a month. The meeting of smaller groups for study and worship is important with a large congregation.
Ps 150:1-6
1 Praise the LORD. Praise God in his sanctuary; praise him in his mighty heavens.
2 Praise him for his acts of power; praise him for his surpassing greatness.
3 Praise him with the sounding of the trumpet, praise him with the harp and lyre,
4 praise him with tambourine and dancing, praise him with the strings and flute,
5 praise him with the clash of cymbals, praise him with resounding cymbals.
6 Let everything that has breath praise the LORD. Praise the LORD.
(NIV)
Papa John <;D)))><<
Thank you for the devotional, Pastor Al. I can't remember ever hearing that hymn before. Do love Abba Father and it is a favorite! Thanks Pat.
Lovely words, Papa John. How we need to Praise The Lord and rest in the knowledge that God is in control. When I read about 8 kittens, fathered by a cloned African wildcat, mothers of the kittens are two clones of another wildcat, University of Maryland growing meat from an animal in a Petri dish, with the hope of this being the solution to supplying our food in future....I find myself clinging more than ever to the promises of God.
Glad that you are okay Alma. Have wondered about how you are and missed your photo's. Nice to also see TBear back. Hope that your father will be better soon, TBear.
Larry, I read an interesting blurb in the LA Times about Fibromyalgia. I was diagnosed with this back in 1981, when they first discovered that it wasn't only my Arthritis that was making life so difficult. Have struggled with it, as does your wife. I was fortunate in that the specialist was ahead of most of the other doctors and didn't think it was something one could ignore. Found that the only thing I could do was find some alternate medications to help as could not use Arthritis drugs. Efamol Evening Primrose Oil was being recommended some several years after I discovered that it helped me. Find only the Efamol brand works for me, even tho' the most expensive. It helps to reduce the inflamation after taking for a few weeks and must be taken regularly every day. That and walking or some form of mild exercise.....here is what the paper wrote:
There was a time when it was thought to be psychosomatic," said Dr. Robert Bennett, a fibromyalgia expert at Oregon Health & Science University in Portland. "We now understand the pain in fibromyalgia is an abnormality in the central nervous system in which pain sensations are amplified."
Now doctors are more likely to acknowledge fibromyalgia as a real illness. Because patients are being diagnosed and referred to specialists more quickly, they're finding relief, and acceptance, easier to come by.
I thought it might help your wife to know that it is finally being taken seriously by the medical profession as a whole!
Wendy had to see one of two ICBC doctors today to be evaluated.....He was very nice and realized that she is in serious trouble. The case is going to court, next Sept. 2006. almost five years after the accident! It will most likely be settled before then as it is an open and shut case, the other party being quilty, Wendy being changed forever! The other Specialists would refute any false statements the ICBC doctors make....if the dare to do so...
This is one grammy who can say she is most proud of her granddaughter. Amanda is taking the problems faced in trying to get her courses and is using the time to work very hard at a most unpleasant job. Washing dishes can not be fun and she puts in very long and hard hours at the Inn. If a year from now the College says to wait another year to get into the courses, she may have to change her hopes of UVic and teaching, to go to art school in either Victoria or a fine school in Calgary. The Calgary school is one of the best in Canada. Will be praying hard the next year that things will open up for her. She is one really great kid, steady, doesn't drink or use drugs, doesn't run around with a wild crowd. Much to be thankful for....thanks to a pair of great parents.
Janet, I finally got that book, The Makers Diet, and find it most interesting. Lots of good stuff to absorb...tho' can't afford Organic Foods...so costly here. Hope all goes well with your Art Work. Glad that Beth & John are having a good time and will continue to pray for them.
Long post....got rather talkative. Must go now. Pleasant evening and God Bless.
Liz
A warm C.P. welcome to RONCON... Hope we hear all about your place called HOME - and see your posts!
The penguin movie sounds like one I must put on my list of "movies to see". At one time, PG movies were ok. - now it seems that "G" movies are ones that are "safe" from bad language.
Alma: I am happy to see you back!
It's so nice to read all of these posts!
I just had a phone call from Janet and something major seems to have happened to her computer. So she can't get in here. How frustrating!
I guess Karen knows all about that!
Time to lock the door...
