Morning Devotional...


Happy are thy men, happy are these thy servants, which stand continually before thee, and that hear thy wisdom. 
1 Kings 10:8

Thy father made our yoke grievous: now therefore make thou the grievous service of thy father, and his heavy yoke which he put upon us, lighter, and we will serve thee.
1 Kings 12:4


While he honored the Lord, Solomon was a good master.

His people loved to serve him. But near the end of Solomon's life, he departed from the Lord. And sin changed him for the worse.

After his death people came to his son Rehoboam and asked that the burdens be lifted that Solomon had placed on them.

May the Lord search our hearts today.

It's great to be here this evening ... morning for some of you ... I am so thankful for family and y'all....

PAPA JOHN~ You got that right ... I sure do have experience in watching young ones grow up.  I love my family and am often ashamed to think that I was not the "good mother" that perhaps I should have been.  I can't recall so much of the growing up years of my children and I just have to let God take care of the mess I must have been and made... I was in deep depression and have no idea what a mess I must have been.   

I am so grateful that HE is faithful to forgive and does not hold it against us for our mistakes and mess ups. 

I am sorry for not posting for a while.  It's nice to be back again.  The story of King Saul seems to tell us that we are always in need of the Lord's grace to keep us walking a godly path.  If we feel that  we can go it alone, we will fall.  I do beleive, though, that King Saul returned to the Lord before his death, we can praise God for His mercy.  The mercy of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting.

Good Morning: I am here very early this morning as I ave as a rough night. Well A rough 24 hours. I wqould appreciate it very much if all of you would go to the "Gloria needs a miracle thread" and pray for Gloria, I am putting her on an airplane in a couple of hours. It is very urgent. HERE And she needs lots of prayer.

I'm praying for your friend, Marilyn..but I believe you need the prayers to be able to show Jesus' love in her situation of abuse to you.  Guess that you will have to let her know you love her anyhow...but put up some boundaries as to how much you can tolerate.

I'm anxious to hear about Beth's party.

Kathy I did get the situation with Gloria straightened out All I had to do was confront her and  use the words that God put in my mouth. Telling her that I was not her doormat and to please have some  respect for me and my feelings too that I am an adult not a child. ETC.

Her mother went to be with the Lord at 9:30- last night.

 

Good Morning Friends!

I would like to take a moment to praise and thank the Lord for this new day.
Thank  you Pat for the devotional and lovely morning music. Started the day out
just right.  I love Saturdays, though I can usually be found whirling like a mad
woman so that I can get to the evening and wind down. Thanks to all for welcoming
me and a special thanks to PAPA JOHN and JANET.  I dont yet know how to fancy
up my messages, but I will be found groveling to Pat pretty soon, so I can make mine
as cute as you guys make yours.

You should see me amateurishly ( is that a word?) trying to put something in and all
I get are little numbers and brackets (heehee) for m effort.    At any rate, I can do the smilies cause they are simple and require no gizmo skills.  While  think of it, please pray for my Aunt Esther, who lives in Gary Indiana and cares for my gramma who is 101. She also cares for her hubby, my Uncle Phil who has prostate problems. This lady is 71 and is a ball of dynamite. In fact, all of the women in our families are whirlers like me!  Or I guess its the
other way around.  I thank God for their example and for their GENES!  

My mother was a teacher/minister who passed on August 2 1998 from cervical cancer, but she never quit, and continued to tutor privately nearly until her death.  I think she died more of a broken heart. My brother and I are her only two children. He is in a veterans hospital in Jackson MS. Long story. Heart problems.

Well, before I spoil the mood with all this sad stuff, I ask you to continue to pray for me and my family. I shall certainly pray with you for every one of your requests and ask God to continue to bless and keep you throughout the journey.

Gotta run now and try and beat the rain!  If we dont, then we will simply thank God for
moisture!  I Him, Zee

Karma ~ I remember when Tony...now 43...was little, he knew the letters in his name and the numbers....4, 6, 8, and 13....the channels that was available on the TV.  No remote.....oh, no!!!...so we would tell Tony to change the channel to 6 and he would go turn the dial to 6.  

Zee ~ Gary, Indiana, is up the road from me.  I am about 25 miles northeast of downtown Indy.  I remember traveling to Chicago and seeing the smog over Gary....the steel industry.  I had never seen smog before.

Maureen ~ What a lovely testimony.  Woolady is a fine name....now that I know the reason for it.  

Pat ~ I know your reason for the ads but they do take longer for the page to load.  I may have to cut down again in viewing pages.  It seems I am on CP alone for 2 hours each day.   

God doesn't know what to do today.  I look out a window and it is bright and sunny.  Then a few minutes later I look out and it is cloudy.  So if I happen to go out today, I had better have the umbrella handy just in case.

Oh, yes!  BTW, I set the faulty trap again for the groundhog.  The trap man said he would bring a different trap....two days ago.  Why can't people do what they say these days?  So frustrating.  If I say I will call you, I will.  If I say I will be there at so and so time, I will be 5 minutes early.  Seems some wants to put everyone else on HOLD!  Anyway, I got those shriveled up apples from Ivalou and cut one of them in fourths and throwed them in the trap.  This morning the smarter- than-trap groundhog had eaten one piece but the trap didn't trip again!!!!

Al has been here to pick up his Jam , I am ready for work and stopping by for a look/see before I go to take Fay shopping. I am looking forward to a few days of working only 1 job and being free from smoke for a few days. Lots of deep breathing excersises for me. Some days I feel like I have beent he one smoking.

We are having a relaxing day here at hte Shuford's.  I was going to go watch my nephews play football, but it looks like rain, and if there is one thing I hate it is sitting in the rain (with a toddler) watching anything.  I guess I did it so much as a teen in marching band I just had my fill.  So, I'm going to try to convince bernard to get his parents to watch the boy and him to take me out ot eat!!  we'll see.

It's almost fair time here in the mountains.  I've got several shots to enter, but none that I think are that great.

Oh well.  Have a wonderful time, and I hope Beth's party is a smashing success!!!

Evangelism: Believe the Right Things

And He said to them, "You are from beneath; I am from above. You are
of this world; I am not of this world. Therefore I said to you that
you will die in your sins; for if you do not believe that I am He,
you will die in your sins."

Because the heart of the Christian life is admittedly faith in a
person, Jesus Christ the Lord, it has been relatively easy for some
to press this truth out of all proportion and teach that faith in
the Person of Christ is all that matters. Who Jesus is matters not,
who His Father was, whether Jesus is God or man or both, whether or
not He accepted the superstitions and errors of His time as true,
whether He actually rose again after His passion or was only thought
to have done so by His devoted followers--these things are not
important, say the no-creed advocates. What is vital is that we
believe on Him and try to follow His teachings.

What is overlooked here is that the conflict of Christ with the
Pharisees was over the question of who He was. His claim to be God
stirred the Pharisees to fury. He could have cooled the fire of
their anger by backing away from His claim to equality with God,
but He refused to do it. And He further taught that faith in Him
embraced a belief that He is very God, and that apart from this
there could be no salvation for anyone....

To believe on Christ savingly means to believe the right things
about Christ. There is no escaping this.  That Incredible
Christian, 22.

ever back down from this vital truth of Who You are. Amen."
