Morning Devotional...Happy are thy men, happy are these thy servants, which stand continually before thee, and that hear thy wisdom.Â
1 Kings 10:8
Thy father made our yoke grievous: now therefore make thou the grievous service of thy father, and his heavy yoke which he put upon us, lighter, and we will serve thee.
1 Kings 12:4
While he honored the Lord, Solomon was a good master.
His people loved to serve him. But near the end of Solomon's life, he departed from the Lord. And sin changed him for the worse.
After his death people came to his son Rehoboam and asked that the burdens be lifted that Solomon had placed on them.
May the Lord search our hearts today.
Has sin crept in? How am I treating others?

Cleanse Me (http://christianphotographers.com/sounds/now.mid)
(Click to hear music)
Search me, O God, and know my heart today;
Try me, O Savior, know my thoughts I pray.
See if there be some wicked way in me;
Cleanse me from ev'ry sin and set me free.
I praise Thee, Lord, for cleansing me from sin;
Fulfill Thy Word and make me pure within.
Fill me with fie where once I burned with shame;
Grant my desire to magnify Thy name.
Lord, take my life and make it wholly Thine;
Fill my poor heart with Thy great love divine.
Take all my will, my passion, self and pride;
I now surrender, Lord--in me abide.
O Holy Ghost, revival comes from Thee;
Send a revival--start the work in me.
Thy Word declares Thou wilt supply our need;
For blessings now, O Lord, I humbly plead.

Thanks Pat for the devotional and especially the song. It's such a beautiful song to harmonize with others.
I pray you will be feeling better this weekend.
What a beautiful message, and the music, Praise the Lord, because that piece of music is world famous in New Zealand as a Maori farewell..................Than you........Love Maureen (NZ)
It's great to be here this evening ... morning for some of you ... I am so thankful for family and y'all....
PAPA JOHN~ You got that right ... I sure do have experience in watching young ones grow up. I love my family and am often ashamed to think that I was not the "good mother" that perhaps I should have been. I can't recall so much of the growing up years of my children and I just have to let God take care of the mess I must have been and made... I was in deep depression and have no idea what a mess I must have been. :-[
I am so grateful that HE is faithful to forgive and does not hold it against us for our mistakes and mess ups.
I am sorry for not posting for a while. It's nice to be back again. The story of King Saul seems to tell us that we are always in need of the Lord's grace to keep us walking a godly path. If we feel that we can go it alone, we will fall. I do beleive, though, that King Saul returned to the Lord before his death, we can praise God for His mercy. The mercy of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting.
Have a great day everyone. See y'all later.
Anthony.
I seem to have two log-in names. Sorry for that. I usually log in as rainbow, so if Anthony can be deleted that will be great.
Anthony.
Do you know that it is Zaterdag 28 Augustus? Well, it is according to this computer with Dutch and French writings - made by Dell. What a small world we live in and it spins so fast. We don't have much time to 'right our ways".
Oh, that is Saturday 28th of August. Carol
Good morning Everyone and thank-you Pat. I hope you are much improved now dear. :-*
It's a pleasant morning here. I have just done a bit of tidying up of the garden pots and then the old coughing started so I am back inside for a cup of tea.,
Larry, I made it through the night ;D
Dear Jane.
One thing matters, "Love".
Maureen. Hello dear. are you in N. Zealand? Wow Pat's fame is spreading far and wide. ;) Hope to see you again soon.
Kathy. Congratulations. A first! Olympic crown ordered for you! ;)
Hi there Anthony. How are you? We have missed you lately. I hope all is well now with your mother also.
Carol...oooh one clever lady! God Bless sister.

Luv u.

Good Morning: I am here very early this morning as I ave as a rough night. Well A rough 24 hours. I wqould appreciate it very much if all of you would go to the "Gloria needs a miracle thread" and pray for Gloria, I am putting her on an airplane in a couple of hours. It is very urgent. HERE (http://christianphotographers.com/community/index.php?topic=2943.new#new) And she needs lots of prayer.
Sorry I haven't said Happy Birthday to Angela and Daryl and Welcome to all the newcomers, I have been very stressed out for a couple of days. Very little sleep last night. So HAPPY BIRTHDAY AND WELCOME
Jenny I will see you at the usual time.
For now I have to get going .

Anthony Rainbow, ;) it's great to see you back!
I'm off to the church to set up for the big birthday party! Pray for us, that Beth will be SO blessed tonight! Thanks.
Good morning folks. :)
Nice to see you back, 8) Anthony. 8)
Way to go Marilyn! You figured out how to link! ;D <high five> ;D
Can't wait to hear about the party, Janet. I sent that card out Wed. I wonder if you will get it. :-\ (hug) Hope you all have a blast. :D
Awesome song, Pat!. :D
I am going to copy and paste that to my journal.
I better get. We are leaving for the day. Hope you all have an awesome day!
Soni
I'm praying for your friend, Marilyn..but I believe you need the prayers to be able to show Jesus' love in her situation of abuse to you. Guess that you will have to let her know you love her anyhow...but put up some boundaries as to how much you can tolerate. ;)
I'm anxious to hear about Beth's party. :)
Where is Ria?
I miss her.
Kathy I did get the situation with Gloria straightened out All I had to do was confront her and use the words that God put in my mouth. Telling her that I was not her doormat and to please have some respect for me and my feelings too that I am an adult not a child. ETC.
Her mother went to be with the Lord at 9:30- last night.
:D
Good Morning Friends!
I would like to take a moment to praise and thank the Lord for this new day.
Thank  you Pat for the devotional and lovely morning music. Started the day out
just right. Â I love Saturdays, though I can usually be found whirling like a mad
woman so that I can get to the evening and wind down. Thanks to all for welcoming
me and a special thanks to PAPA JOHN and JANET. Â I dont yet know how to fancy
up my messages, but I will be found groveling to Pat pretty soon, so I can make mine
as cute as you guys make yours.
You should see me amateurishly ( is that a word?) trying to put something in and all
I get are little numbers and brackets (heehee) for m effort.  :-\  At any rate, I can do the smilies cause they are simple and require no gizmo skills.  While  think of it, please pray for my Aunt Esther, who lives in Gary Indiana and cares for my gramma who is 101. She also cares for her hubby, my Uncle Phil who has prostate problems. This lady is 71 and is a ball of dynamite. In fact, all of the women in our families are whirlers like me!  Or I guess its the
other way around. Â I thank God for their example and for their GENES! Â
My mother was a teacher/minister who passed on August 2 1998 from cervical cancer, but she never quit, and continued to tutor privately nearly until her death. Â I think she died more of a broken heart. My brother and I are her only two children. He is in a veterans hospital in Jackson MS. Long story. Heart problems.
Well, before I spoil the mood with all this sad stuff, I ask you to continue to pray for me and my family. I shall certainly pray with you for every one of your requests and ask God to continue to bless and keep you throughout the journey.
Gotta run now and try and beat the rain! Â If we dont, then we will simply thank God for
moisture! Â I Him, Zee
Good Morning Everyone! It's so nice to see all of the messages since last night.Â
I'll look after your registration,
Anthony. Nice to see you today. I pray that your mother is doing alright. I wondered if maybe she was worse causing your absence.
Great comment, Anthony!

Marilyn, way to go! You did a link! That's always so good to see.
You must have such a busy life,
Zeebers!  We'll be praying for your aunt. What a wonderful job she's doing! We have a little Practice area where you can play with all the buttons and you'll soon have your messages just as "pretty" as everyone else's! LOL
You have a busy day ahead of you,
Janet!  I'll be thinking of you and when you see that little "fly on the wall" at the party tonight, that's me! HAHAHAHA!
Kathy, thrilled to see you posting twice today!Â
Woolady, I'm so happy you've joined CP. Glad you liked the music. Now, we'll all be looking forward to hearing more about your wonderful country from you.
Soni, enjoy your "family day". Hope you get lots of photos!
How much longer do you have in Brussels,
Carol?  It's been so nice to have you posting while you've been there. I was so afraid that we'd not hear from you for a long time.
Marilyn, you've sure had your plate full lately with your work.
RIA, if you're looking in, we miss you so much. How's your dear father doing?
Jane, great to see you today. Please say "Hello" to
Nita for us. We sure miss her posts.

Janet ~ Maybe you should have a voice mail on the church thingy telling everyone not to eat too much at the party because you fear you won't have enough food. Â ;D Â Everything will be fine, Janet. Â Quit stewing. Â The party is for Beth, not to feed the country!!
Karma ~ I remember when Tony...now 43...was little, he knew the letters in his name and the numbers....4, 6, 8, and 13....the channels that was available on the TV. Â No remote.....oh, no!!!...so we would tell Tony to change the channel to 6 and he would go turn the dial to 6. Â :-*
Zee ~ Gary, Indiana, is up the road from me. Â I am about 25 miles northeast of downtown Indy. Â I remember traveling to Chicago and seeing the smog over Gary....the steel industry. Â I had never seen smog before.
Maureen ~ What a lovely testimony. Â Woolady is a fine name....now that I know the reason for it. Â ;)
Pat ~ I know your reason for the ads but they do take longer for the page to load. I may have to cut down again in viewing pages. It seems I am on CP alone for 2 hours each day.  ::)
God doesn't know what to do today. Â I look out a window and it is bright and sunny. Â Then a few minutes later I look out and it is cloudy. Â So if I happen to go out today, I had better have the umbrella handy just in case.
Oh, yes!  BTW, I set the faulty trap again for the groundhog.  The trap man said he would bring a different trap....two days ago.  Why can't people do what they say these days?  So frustrating.  If I say I will call you, I will.  If I say I will be there at so and so time, I will be 5 minutes early.  Seems some wants to put everyone else on HOLD!  Anyway, I got those shriveled up apples from Ivalou and cut one of them in fourths and throwed them in the trap.  This morning the smarter- than-trap groundhog had eaten one piece but the trap didn't trip again!!!!?º°`°º?ø,¸¸,ø?º°`°º?ø?º°`°º?ø,¸¸,ø?º°`°º?ø?º°`°º?ø,¸¸,ø?º°`°º?ø?º°`

Amazing Love (http://christianphotographers.com/sounds/amazinglove.mid)
(Click to hear music)
My Lord what love is this?
That paid so dearly
That I, the guilty one, may go free.
Chorus:
Amazing love, oh what sacrifice
The Son of God, given for me
My debt He paid, and my death He died
That I, might live.
That I, might live.
And so, they watched Him die
Despised and rejected
But oh, the blood He shed, flowed for me.
Chorus:
Amazing love, oh what sacrifice
The Son of God, given for me
My debt He paid, and my death He died
That I, might live.
That I, might live.
And now, this love of Christ
Will flow, like rivers
Come wash, your guilt away, And live again.
Chorus:
Amazing love, oh what sacrifice
The Son of God, given for me
My debt He paid, and my death He died
That I, might live.
That I, might live.

Good morning everybody. We are having a little rain this morning in Nashville.
Anthony, it is good to see you back. Either Anthony or Rainbow will be all right.
Yes, Cornelia and I are looking forward to meeting Ruth Ann for dinner tonight.
I hope you all have a good day.
Matt 6:27-33
27 Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life?
28 "And why do you worry about clothes? See how the lilies of the field grow. They do not labor or spin.
29 Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these.
30 If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?
31 So do not worry, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?'
32 For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them.
33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.

Hi, friends,

AL .. My thoughts exactly! I was just posting the answer of
Elijah when you jumped in front of me ... oh well, I just need to be a bit quicker, I guess. :D
I am not seeing ads. Is it because I am using the "old" interface instead of the new one?
We are having a relaxing day here at hte Shuford's. I was going to go watch my nephews play football, but it looks like rain, and if there is one thing I hate it is sitting in the rain (with a toddler) watching anything. I guess I did it so much as a teen in marching band I just had my fill. So, I'm going to try to convince bernard to get his parents to watch the boy and him to take me out ot eat!! we'll see.
It's almost fair time here in the mountains. I've got several shots to enter, but none that I think are that great. :(
Oh well. Have a wonderful time, and I hope Beth's party is a smashing success!!!

A good Saturday to all of you. :)

Evangelism: Believe the Right Things
And He said to them, "You are from beneath; I am from above. You are
of this world; I am not of this world. Therefore I said to you that
you will die in your sins; for if you do not believe that I am He,
you will die in your sins."
--John 8:23-24
Because the heart of the Christian life is admittedly faith in a
person, Jesus Christ the Lord, it has been relatively easy for some
to press this truth out of all proportion and teach that faith in
the Person of Christ is all that matters. Who Jesus is matters not,
who His Father was, whether Jesus is God or man or both, whether or
not He accepted the superstitions and errors of His time as true,
whether He actually rose again after His passion or was only thought
to have done so by His devoted followers--these things are not
important, say the no-creed advocates. What is vital is that we
believe on Him and try to follow His teachings.
What is overlooked here is that the conflict of Christ with the
Pharisees was over the question of who He was. His claim to be God
stirred the Pharisees to fury. He could have cooled the fire of
their anger by backing away from His claim to equality with God,
but He refused to do it. And He further taught that faith in Him
embraced a belief that He is very God, and that apart from this
there could be no salvation for anyone....
To believe on Christ savingly means to believe the right things
about Christ. There is no escaping this. That Incredible
Christian, 22.
"Thank You, Lord, that You are Who You claim to be and that our
salvation does indeed rest on a solid foundation. Don't let me
ever back down from this vital truth of Who You are. Amen."

Pat, I guess I'm too much of a conservative Bible Professor, as I would answer: 5) None of the above. It is so short because it is as long as God wanted it to be. :-)
Well, here's the correct answer! Good Al Moak
NUMBER 3--Elijah
1 Kings 19:3-5 says...
And when he saw that, he arose, and went for his life, and came to Beersheba, which belongeth to Judah, and left his servant there.
But he himself went a day's journey into the wilderness, and came and sat down under a juniper tree: and he requested for himself that he might die; and said, It is enough; now, O LORD, take away my life; for I am not better than my fathers.
And as he lay and slept under a juniper tree, behold, then an angel touched him, and said unto him, Arise and eat.
Hi everyone. Just read all the messages here in NEM. Haven't accomplished much today as spent quite a bit of time arranging to have cable installed in about two weeks and for the cable internet service. They are offering a special deal where they take off $25/ month from their bill on the TV for 16 months and then the service will still be less than what I have been paying. On the internet service they offer highspeed for $19.95 per month for the first 6 months and then the regular rate will still be less than what I pay Earthlink for DSL service. So I decided I should switch. It does mean having to change my e-mail address, which will be a job as I have lots of names in my address book and have registered using it on lots of websites over the last 5 years.
Tonight is our second night of the revivial. We had a wonderful worship service last evening with a very dynamic minister. Our choir is singing tonight so I have to be at church by 6:30 pm. Then tomorrow we have a combined service.
It is good to read all the posts here today. I am home for a couple of hours before going back for Beth's party. (For you newbies---Beth is my daughter, she is 42 years old and disabled, and this is a surprise birthday party for her!)
Soni, your card arrived in today's mail! She has a bundle of cards now---15 just today! Judy Mc. yours came today, too! Thank you both so much! ;D
My nephew and wife and Darrel helped me cut up the salad, and with four of us working, it didn't take all that long. My frined Kay, who is baking the cakes was a great help in setting up the tables, getting the tablecloths on and decorating the room. My sister Jeanie was there helping, too, and keeping an eye on little Autumn, her grandbaby (the daughter of Lance and Bria, who were the salad helpers.)
The guy who is doing the DVDs came by, borrowed the album I have been working so hard to finish, said he was making a special Happy Birthday DVD for her---so that will be as much of a surprise for me as for Beth! YIPPEE!!! (Can you tell I am excited?) ;D ;D
Zee, so good to see you again today! We love it when our new members jump right in and post and post..........don't we, Pat?
Time to go back to the church, someone called and said they have a delivery! More surprises!
Yes Rachel, he is one of the best.

Hi from the island.
I have not had time to read all the posts, so will do that later. Wanted to share the success of Amanda at the fair. She is now 17 and so had to enter the adult competitions. Wonderful results.Â
Amanda is a genuine artist. She does not use tracing paper or projectors as some folks do. So everything she produces is the real thing. I am truly happy for her doing this well as the competition was tremendous. The valley is filled with many talented artists and this is a great way to have work evaluated.Â
Will be back later. As a strictly amateur artist, I am always happy for the success of others.
I am going to put the pictures in a second post.
God Bless,
Liz

Liz, you certainly have good reason to be proud of Amanda. That is quite an array of ribbons and those are beautiful paintings and photos.
Just back from the revival service this evening and it was an awesome experience. Just too bad that our church wasn't packed but we did have a good group and the minister talked of our calling to community and the importance of being a part of the church to serve one God, one Jesus, one Spirit.
Janet, am looking forward to your posting about the party.
Those are really great pictures Liz. Amanda is becoming a very good artist.
I hope y-all don't mind me saying that I am rather disappointed in some of y-all. Yesterday and today I have posted links to the thread on Gloria saying that I had updated it and asking for prayer. Then today I told you that her mother died last night and posted another link. So far only Larry, Jane, Jenny, Kathy, Al, Janet and Pat have gone there and posted something. The prayers were an urgent request and critical. Sometimes I wonder if what we post gets read or if some even care.
Maybe the fact that I am an intercessor and a prayer warrior I am expecting too much, if that is the case then please forgive me for having hurt feelings.
TTYL
Oh, Marilyn. I haven't been on the computer much and not at all yesterday. Have not even read all of the posts yet. Just made dinner for the kids and Amanda's friend and now going to do all the cleaning up....Often read the prayer requests, say a little silent prayer and don't post. You are certainly not forgotten and it is only that I am rather a private person and do not usually talk about praying for folks. Will say a little 'private' prayer for Gloria tonight ....
God Bless,
Liz
Marilyn, I think that it may be good to remind you that mention of the situation was also made on NEM. Many of us pray, even though we may not respond. I notice the topic has been read more than 50 times.
It was wonderful to see Papa John and Cornelia this afternoon. The food was great and the fellowship was even better. It was great to hear him pray once again.
In His Love,
Ruth Ann
Marilyn, I probably read your post too late, but I still thought a prayer in my heart as I did. Please don't feel that we ignore you. I believe that God hears our prayers even if others never know that we pray. I really appreciate your heart for prayer. Christianity needs more prayer warriors. Love ya, sis.
Time to lock the door.
