JennyW: Hello Everyone! Just checking in to see if anyone wants to get this group going again! Hope all is well where ever you live! 2024-08-14, 08:21:59

Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Morning Devotional...

Naomi said.Blessed be he of the LORD, who hath not left off his kindness to the living and to the dead.
Ruth 2:20

As the book of Ruth opens its drama, Naomi is bitter (1:13, 20-21); a
grieving discouraged widow, turning souls away from God (1:8-15).

God providentially brought Boaz, a kinsman-redeemer, (2:19) manifesting His kindness to reach out and warm Naomi's cold heart.

She declared His kindness as being toward both the living and "the dead"--surely a picture of us, "dead in trespasses and sin."

God's kindness quickly transformed a bitter woman into a praising, thankful, faith-expectant woman, trusting the Lord to unite Ruth and Boaz in marriage.

He can do the same for us.
--S. Thorpe

How good is the God we adore,
Our faithful, unchangeable Friend,
We'll praise Him for all that is past,
and trust Him for all that's to come.

How is everyone?  Can't believe I'm the first one today. Very unusual, hope everyone is well. Been busy with Michalel and work.
Gonna need the servant's heart today for sure. I'm so glad God is there for us.

Everyone have a blessed day.

Good Morning Jeannine...

I will be praying for you today as you care for Michael.

It looks as if it's going to be a nice day here in Guelph.  I will be picking blackberries for a lot of it.  What a wonderful harvest this year and it's been so nice to be able to share with my friend who has cancer.

Good Morning Good devotional Pat. Thanks.

Going to Tai Chi this morning then on to Ruths to clean her house.

Not much else is new around here except for the sun is shining  this morning instead of fog.

Wow--really a slow morning here on CP.

I dedided I needed to get back to my workouts, so I did that, then went to take Beth some things, brought her laundry home, did some Reliv business, etc. etc. etc.   ::)  Now it's time to make a BIG salad for our lunch!  Yum!  We even have a couple of home-grown tomatoes and a green pepper I just picked!

I am very thankful to be able to sleep naturally and without any kind of machine.  But for those who need them, they are a real blessing.

Pat, what are all those meetings you have been attending lately?  (Just wondering.......)

Larry, I have posted quite a few China photos, if you want to take a look.  Just click on Album, by my name here.

Horrible meetings, Janet.

In the city of Guelph, we have 9 Neighbourhood Groups and one of them is in our area.  And some of the folks are acting up big time.

Hi Everyone,

Sorry that I've been absent for a few days. Been busy here.  My wife and I celebrated our 30th anniversary on Monday and it's been wide open since then.

Pat, nice devotional today. My grandmother loved the book of Ruth.

Ya'll have a good week and I'll try not to be absent as much.
God Bless, Rob

Carol

Pat:  Thank you for the devotion on the book of Ruth and the turnaround in a widow's personality.

Pat:  Sorry about your awful meetings.  So little is accomplished when there is so much protesting.

I am very quiet now having had extra anti-nausous (sp) meds after my colonoscopy this morning.  It made me very sleepy.

Today's "Our Daily Bread" reminded me of the topic Pat brought up the other day.  I especially enjoyed the last paragragh.

In AD 64, someone set fire to Rome.  A few days later, two-thirds of the city lay in smoldering ruins. A rumor spread that the emperor Nero had set the fire because he wanted to rebuild the city and name it after himself. Needing a scapegoat to get himself off the proverbial hot-seat, he chose to blame a defenseless and unpopular minority—Christians. He then initiated such intense persecution that he’s been referred to as the first Antichrist. It’s believed that both Peter and Paul were martyred during this time.

Because Christianity was new and its followers still relatively few, the sadistic treatment that Nero leveled against believers, which included using them as human torches to light his palace garden, continued with little opposition.

His persecution eventually backfired, however. Instead of weakening the new faith, it strengthened it. History tells us that within a few hundred years Christianity became so influential that Emperor Constantine made it the official religion of the Roman Empire.

God always has a purpose in persecution. He will use it for good if we follow the example of Christ, who, “when He suffered, He . . . committed Himself to Him who judges righteously” (1 Peter 2:23). —Julie Ackerman Link

Walking by faith means you see God's hand even in the most difficult of circumstances.

Carl - it will always be thus.  God our Father is ALMIGHTY, and as such He is SOVEREIGN.  We should not be surprised aat the way persecutions backfire.  We commonly think so much depends upon us, but in reality it depends only upon the Lord of history.

Judy McKenna

Hi everyone:

Janet - I've enjoyed looking at your pictures from China.  What a trip that must have been.

Etta Sue:  How is Ali doing now?

Marilyn:  Wish I had you to clean for me.  Once again, I'm looking for a home helper.  My previous lady, was with me for over 18 years....then she got married, and moved away!  She wasn't just an employee - she was a friend.  We visited with her last month, when we toured around her town, up north.

I must take my car in to the dealership soon, before the warranty expires.  One window won't go up or down.

Janet

Judy, Thanks for looking at my pictures, but wish you would have left comments.  It doesn't seem worth the effort to post when so few look or comment.  Glad you enjoyed them.

Pat, do you HAVE to go to those meetings?  I think I would just skip it, if they are so bad.  Maybe you are hoping to change the tone of things.

Speaking of car windows--the day we got home, we went to see the play our son in law was in, and he also showed us the house they are buying.  We rode over in our Mercury, and Jeff rolled the passenger window down--ALL the way down--and it would not roll back up.  Then he tried to pull it up with pliers, and chipped the window.  :o  That cost us $210.00.  :(

It is time to get to church, so maybe I will talk to you all tomorrow.

The wind is blowing here and my front door just blew open and scared the dogs.
Not much to say, I will be going to church soon. My next door neighbor has been bringing me supper every night this week. , I have had, Beef short rib with potatoes, salad and brownies, Jambalaya with green beans and a brownie, Corned beef stew, and tonight was a chicken patty with 3 potato pancakes and sliced tomatoes. I also made some veggie stir fry . Needless to say I sure don't have to worry about eating.   :P

Y'all have a good evening.

Larry Hanna

Hi everyone.  It is late and we have had a very busy day.  After coffee we went to the church for Bible study with our pastor and I came home for a bite of lunch and to feed the cat.  Pat had another errand to run.  Then I headed for downtown Atlanta to see the cardiologist who put in my pacemaker/defibulator and the research person who is monitoring my device.  It was a routine visit.  Then I went to Kaiser for a PSA blood test.  Came home for about an hour and then we went to church for Wednesday evening dinner, another Bible study with our associate pastor and then I had choir practice.  Needless to say there was no time for resting and I am worn out.

Janet, I did look at most of your photos from your China trip.  Sorry I didn't leave more comments (pretty sure I left at least one).  I feel bad that I haven't looked at many of the other photos for awhile as never seem to find the time.  However, I always enjoy them and look forward to seeing the beautiful photos when I do look.

I will try to get back earlier tomorrow.

Ruth

Janet: Give a belated birthday with to Beth for me will you.

Marilyn:  The photo that will appear in the book is lovely.

Both Mel & myself had to attend a meeting this evening and now it is time for us to shut the lights off and have a nights rest.
