Morning Devotional...And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.Deuteronomy 6:7
John Bunyan said, "It is written in the Scripture, The father to the children shall make known the truth of God. Yea it was for this reason that I lay so long at Sinai, to see the fire, and the cloud, and the darkness, that I might fear the Lord all the days of my life upon earth and tell of His wondrous works to my children".
Fathers, [or mothers] in a busy world are we teaching our children the things of God?

To read the Word in circle sweet,
and lead and guide and pray.

Thanks for the devotional
It is not very often that I am first. Praise the Lord that the Plane crash did not take any lives.
Dinner was Corn Fritters one of my MIL's favorites when she was still living.
Janet: If Beth does go away it is possible that the plane attendants will care for her.
The attendants look out for children traveling alone so I would think that they will do the same for others in need as well.
Ruth Ann: What a wonderful celebration when you loose some of the weight I know that even 5 lbs. is something to celebrate. Buying new cloths, feeling lighter and just so many little things is a joy.
Sue called me this evening and she is still talking about what happened in the store with the customer praying about the accident - she mentioned total respect from all the customers that passed through her cash at that time.
Papa John: I like your picture on the scooter.
Pat: Glad to read that you are getting help with the cooler problem.
Trust you all have a great day.
Ruth
Helloooooo all!
Our modem still isn't working right, so we are stuck with the super slow Internet for now. (normally just slow). :)
Sorry I'm not around much. When this situation is remedied, "I'll be back!"
To everyone who has registered in the past couple of days -- welcome!!! I would call your name individually, but I'm afraid I'd forget someone. :( Know that your "attendance" has been noticed, and I look forward to getting to know you better.
Gotta go1
karmat
Ok i'm still around... still at my parents home but fixin to move.... work tonight was busy and if it is a "sign" of what's to come with fair week going on it will be one very LOOOOOOONG week. I got off work at 120 today and we were supposed to be out of the store at midnight.... our area coach gets mad if we are in the store too long after close. so anyways just here until i move then i'll be there or maybe there will become here and here will become there who knows! well i'm off.
Sarah
:) So far today is somewhat cloudy. The hummingbirds by my window...at least 6 of them...are having the best time just slurping up the sugar water in the feeder. I put a quart in yesterday AM and now it will be empty by the time I get home from work.
We will have spaghetti at church tonight. The preacher is cooking.
We all take turns trying to have something each Wednesday night and charge just $3 which usually takes care of the cost of the food. Mostly our SS classes will take turns..but then there are the circles and sometimes the men and again the childrens dept will fix hotdogs. It has increased our Wed nite prayer meeting a lot. Also, we have the different youth and children groups meeting after supper. Our youth group is growing...Praise God!!...our next generation of leaders in the church. We already have one who is going to college to be a youth minister. He taught SS last year for the Jr-Hi age group..a fine Christian young man.
A good day for all.....k ;)
What a good devotional. I copied and sent it to my children.
Last night was the first night without pain in many months. I'm so grateful that the wheel was invented! ;)
I was even able to spend as much time as I wanted in my kitchen. The trash man will hate me tomorrow!
Leslie (in the middle of the night) put up a new shower head with a flexible hose. Now, I won't be "coming up for air" after my showers. And, at my exclamation of delight, he smiled and said gently, "Happy Birthday!" First time he's acknowledged my birthday in many years.
Y'all have a good day.
Ruth Ann

Pat ~ Yes, I heard about and have seen on TV about the airplane crash at Toronto. Was watching the press ask stupid questions. Me thinks any mentality could be 'Press'. Thanks for the devotion.
JudyB ~ It does seem weird that Arizona is south...way south of me...and they get more snow and colder weather than I do. I would love to see the Grand Canyon with snow on it.
Soni ~ Glad to read you are taking care of that arm/shoulder.
Ruth Ann ~ Soon we will need a new pix of you or we won't recognize you when we see you. Go girl!
Janet ~ So sad to hear the news the doctor told Beth. But she is one determined gal...wanting to go to New York to visit John. Is there anyone that could go with her to assist and return back to Kansas?
Sue ~ Yes, it is a miracle that there were no fatalities in the plane crash. Unheard of today. But God was in that plane and got all his children out just in time.
Ruth ~ Hmmm! Corn Fritters! It has been years since I have had corn fritters. Sound delish.
Karma ~ Those cyberspooks can do a number on our pcs. Upsetting! Hope your pc gets better soon. How is Kristi?
Sarah ~ You are a busy gal. How much longer will you be working? When does school start again? Will you work and go to school?
Kathy ~ Your Wednesday night feasts sound great. Nothing like food to get attendance then sneak in the Word of God and they don't know what hit them.
I must have done something to my hip while cleaning yesterday...a catch in it when I first get up to walk somewhere. Ouch! So I will be resting today and taking pain meds. But will be back later for NEM tomorrow.:) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :)

Hi everyone. Nothing going on here today other than my second monitor that I have hooked up to my desktop computer seems to be fading right before my eyes. It was an old monitor so guess that can be expected as it has run a lot of hours and was stored in the shed for a couple of years, which was hard on it.
After coffee this morning I went to the grocery for a couple of items. Pat has gone to Bible study that the pastor does on Wednesday mornings. Tonight is our first choir practice of the fall season. We will now have it everyweek until next July. I enjoyed the time off but am glad to be starting again as I missed the practices and singing on Sunday mornings.
It was certainly a miracle that no one was killed in that terrible plane crash. I saw a lady on TV this morning who had been on the plane and she described what happened. Very frightening, to say the least. She said she flew about 280,000 miles a years in her work and would be flying again to South Korea in about 10 days.
Tbear, glad to see you are safely home. I wasn't able to see your picture this morning. Your server must not have been online the moment I read your message. So glad you were able to see your son after this very long time.
I can't think of anything else to write about this morning so will just sign off for now. Hope everyone has a great day.
He Rides Upon the Heavens (#20050803)
by John Morris, Ph.D.
"There is none like unto the God of Jeshurun, who rideth upon the heaven in thy help, and in His excellency on the sky" (Deuteronomy 33:26).
Chapter 33 of Deuteronomy contains the last recorded words of a truly great man, Moses, "whom the Lord knew face to face" (34:10). Many times Moses had addressed the people of Israel with mixed blessing and warning, listing conditions for blessing and the inevitable results of rejecting God's plan. But here, as he prepared for his impending death (32:48-52), Moses spoke only of God's majestic character and the privileges of those who serve Him.
The God of Jeshurun (literally "upright," here a symbolic name for Israel) is an active God, for He rides in His excellency across the heaven to help us, as we see in our text. He strongly acts on our behalf. "The eternal God is [our] refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms" (33:27). He is not like the gods of the heathen, who do nothing.
Next, He is a God of grandeur. Here He rides across the sky and the heaven; elsewhere we are told that He "rideth upon the heaven of heavens" (Psalm 68:33). He walks (104:3) and flies (18:10) "upon the wings of the wind." "The Lord hath His way in the whirlwind and in the storm, and the clouds are the dust of His feet" (Nahum 1:3).
Finally, God is eternal. The "eternal God" with "everlasting arms" (Deuteronomy 33:27) assures us of eternal victory. "I am He that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death" (Revelation 1:18).
Such was Moses' God and the God whom we serve today--the One who showers us with incomparable blessings. Indeed, "who is like unto thee, O people saved by the Lord" (Deuteronomy 33:29) to have such a One as our God? JDM
Good Morning one and all. If I do not call any names it is because by the time I catch up on the posts on a few stick in my mind.
Karma good to see you here this morning. Sorry about your internet connection, too bad you can't get a cable connection. My computer is on cable and I love it. I click on a link and it is there right now.
Kathy I would love to visit your church. I wouldn't have to fix supper on Wednesday night before going to church.
Larry I really do miss being in the choir like I was before I moved up north.
Etta Sue be very careful with your back it is the only one you have. My client Versal has trouble with her back and it is very painful. She has no curve in her lower back, she was born with her spine straight where a normal spine is curved. I have had a lot of back trouble in the past and I am so thankful that I am now pain free. I have spent many hours in the chiropractor's office since I was 12 years old. Having scoliosis is no fun at all. Tai Chi has really helped me to be more aware of my posture and stand as straight as I can.
Sue it is wonderful that that lady started praying right where she was, I have done that in the grocery store standing at the veggie dept laying hand on and praying for someone. Another time another person and I stood in front of the meat dept and prayed for someone. Never be ashamed or afraid to pray wherever you may be.
In Tai Chi I have learned that If you do exagerated shoulder rolls squeezing your shoulder blades very tightly together on the back of the roll and rolling at least 4 times in slowly in both directions. Inhale on the up and exhale on the down. It makes the blood flow in your spine. You had actually feel the heat of the blood flow and that helps the healing and the pain go away and besides that it helps your posture. This has really helped me.
Gotta go now and have some breakfast before I leave.

Sarah
Sarah, are you moving out to go to school? How far away from home is your school?
Marilyn, I tried that exercise and it really felt good!
Karen, a very nice photo of your reunited family. Hopefully there will be more visits more often.
Talk to everyone later.
Hi everyone:
we are back from our week in northern Ontario. - Muskoka to be exact. What a wonderful break for me.....absolutely no cooking, or anything to do for one whole week! Now, this is what I call a vacation! ;D
T BEAR: Nice family photo. I look forward to hearing more detail later.
Janet: I've missed what all is going on with Beth's condition. Perhaps there is more detail in the P & P forum??
Larry: How is Pat these days?
Judy, good to see you back and to know you had a wonderful vacation. That sounds like the kind of restful experience that you needed.
Tbear, thanks for reposting your family photo above. Is the young man in the middle of the back row the son you hadn't seen for 3 years?
Sarah, I hope you don't have to work so much that you are not able to enjoy your college experiences. However, I understand having to do that as I stayed at home and was just a day student. My folks needed my help with the daily farm. Of course, as soon as I left home they sold the dairy cattle and went to beef cattle. I was glad to move away from the farm. I hope you will be able to get on with the ambulance service.
It is about time to leave for choir practice. Hope they haven't forgotten to air condition the room as it is pretty hot out this evening.
We are back after camping for ten days both in Montana and Wyoming. Cleaned the camper all one day - today, took an elderly friend out for a long coffee chat, then bought $100 worth of groceries, washing and ironing 5 loads - putting things away & so it goes.
Larry: We are having a natural air-conditioning here tonight and tomorrow will be into the 60's after having 90 plus temps for much too long. It was 39 degrees one night at Yellowstone. I hope all is going well with you and Pat.
I hope that everyone is doing well. Sorry, so far behind that I don't think I will get to past posts. Don has a meeting in Denver tomorrow and I have a luncheon here.
Carol
Welcome back Judy and tBear.
This summer has gone so faxt. Tomorrow is a barbque at church for all the parents and kids who attended. Melaura attached a scarfe to her geans and the JK's ans K's held on to it as they went from activity to activity.
Sarah way to go with school. You go girl!
Well I will go for now
Just checking in here to let y-all know I am reading the posts.

Marilyn: I tried the exercise and it really felt good. Hope I remember to do it often.
Larry: Do you miss the farm life. I know that it was hard work but as for myself being a farmers kid the memories are the best.
Judy Mc.: My hubby being raised in what he calls the true north with is New Liskeard your vacation still was in Southern Ontario according to him. But your vacation was in a beautiful area.

QuoteLeslie (in the middle of the night) put up a new shower head with a flexible hose. Now, I won't be "coming up for air" after my showers. And, at my exclamation of delight, he smiled and said gently, "Happy Birthday!" First time he's acknowledged my birthday in many years.
Ruth Ann, do I interpret this correctly, and may I wish you a Happy Birthday also?
I had a lazy morning, and then spent a good chunk of the evening preparing and sending out more resumes. One of them has to provide fruit one of these days....
Now to log off, and do some crocheting while watching the news with a glass of water and then bed. Night everyone.
I'm just checking in before I shut down for the night.
I took my grandson to the airport in Eugene today. It was a little over a two hour drive. He's flying to Sacramento to see an ex girlfriend (?) before she goes into the Air Force. As his step dad is a pilot, he flies for free. He's just getting this flying stuff down. When flying free, you can get bumped easily. Sometimes it's hurry and then wait, and wait. My daughter in Pheonix called. He made it there, and then was able to get on the flight out to Sacramento. He hasn't been away from Coos Bay much, so this is good for him. Oh.........the world is just waiting for these fresh out of highschool kids. :) And it will begin with college in a couple of months.
My "boys" were sooo glad to see me when I got home. You'd think I was gone for days. It's sort of nice being so popular and the center of someone's world. haha And then again......sometimes it's sort too much when they both want my attention at the same time. I guess they'll get better as they get older. Huh, Marilyn??
Another beautiful day here on the coast.
Good night , sleep tight, and don't let the bed bugs bite. :) (where did that saying ever come from?)
I'll see you in the morning. Nita
Well I stayed up to wait for a call from John. I am now heading to bed.
Nita I don't think yo ever stop being concerned for your kids, it really doesn't matter how old they are. Then when the grands and great grands come along there is more to be praying for as they get older.
As Ruth and a few others know, I have moved from the city to the country. It was a wonderful change. The stillness quiet really is wonderful. At night there are no lights to dim the stars and the milky way is an incredible sight when everything else is very dark. I wouldn't change this for anything.
Well goodnight all
Judy
The cat is out. This door is locked.
