Morning Devotional...
Turn Up Your Hope
"May the God of your hope so fill you with all joy and peace in believing--through the experience of your faith--that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound and be overflowing(bubbling over) with hope."
(Romans 15:13, Amp)
You know, that's what I want to be...running over with hope! I want to dare to throw my whole life and everything I have into building a dream that comes from the heart of God. I want to get out there so far that without God's help, I can't get back.
Many people don't think that way though because they're afraid to fail. Fear of failure is dangerous. If you let it dominate you, it will cause you to do the one thing that inevitably guarantees failure and that's not attempting at all.
How do you counteract the fear of failure?
You turn up your hope. You get alone with God and listen to Him. You meditate on His promises until the picture is so clear on the inside of you that nothing can jar it out of you.
If you're lying on a sickbed and the doctor has told you you'll never walk again, instead of wallowing around in that bad report, you start dreaming. You start building a dream of climbing mountains and witnessing to people in the backwoods. Go to the Word that promises that those who wait upon the Lord shall run and walk and not faint or be weary. Look at it until you see nothing else. Picture yourself walking for miles and running from one place to the next, telling everyone that Jesus has raised you up and made you whole.
That's what hope is all about. It's a divine dream. It's an inner image that's bigger than you are because it's built on the promises of God.
If you're a Christian, you ought to be a dreamer. Take the Word of God and build some dreams today.
Scripture Study: Psalm 33:18-22
It is 9PM and I finally have a chance to sit down and use the computer. Liked yest.'s devotional and today's as well. One of the gifts God gave us is the ability to dream....and hope. Dreams can be hard work tho' and sometimes require a great deal of faith.
Had a bunch of medical tests last week and one more to go. Much too busy to be ill. There is always so much work to do here and Wendy is simply not physically able....Somedays I seem to be drowning in washing, folding and ironing clothes. This has been an especially busy day as Wendy became ill before their dinner and I had to go upstairs and get everything ready on a moments notice!
She went to get Amanda from work and then had to go straight to bed. Ralph came home from work in time to carve their roast chicken, I do a terrible job at that. Thank goodness Amanda cleared things afterwards as by 8 PM this old grandma is plain worn out.
That was a great message from your friend, Pat. Things like that sure do encourage a person. This site is so important to my own life. It is so wonderful to see Rob and other new folks come to join in the posting. Makes all the bad things in the world disappear for a time and God seem so close and real.
Etta Sue, good going!
Glad that the GPS problem was resolved, Larry.
Thanks for the emails, Marilyn. They really make me smile :)
Read a little blurb about counting one's blessings and how doing this can revitalize our faith. How it can strengthen faith and produce contentment in the most adverse circumstances.
Godliness with contentment is great gain.
1Timothy 6:6
Pleasant Day/Evening and God Bless.

Good morning, everyone!

Hi Nards!!
As for GPS's, I have had a Magellan Platinum Meridian (I think it is in that order) for about 5 years and I love it. But it started telling me that my power was going low and would turn off and I had it connected to my car battery. But it sure has saved me a lot of miles when I made a wrong turn somewhere and when going to a new place. Just put in the address and GO TO it. My new one talks to you and tells you .4 of a mile ahead that you need to turn and at the turn it will tell you to turn. And if you miss a turn, it sometimes tells you to make a legal U turn but then recalculates and you continue on your way.
I spent all afternoon clearing the memory in my old GPS. Then did an upgrade from the net. Reinstalled maps and reinstalled my Waypoints. I like it better in some ways from my new one. So I may just use both in my car for awhile.
Janet ~ I know you are in China but sometimes hopes and dreams are what makes life worthwhile. Thanks to God that He created the ability of hopes and dreams for all of us.
Well, today my plans are to mow, shower, do a load of laundry and call my girl classmates that don't have email about our luncheon Saturday. May talk Judy B into going out to eat somewhere. That is my hope and dream for today!>^..^< >^..^< >^..^< >^..^< >^..^< >^..^< >^..^< >^..^<

Good morning everyone.
Janet...your morning devotional struck a chord with something that I had just read this morning in my own study time. It posed the question "are you just fitting God into your life or are you living your life for God?"
Good Morning everyone. Not much to say today. Just don't feel like talking today. Please pray for me.
Kevin did you get my note on Skype?
Hi Janet,
What a wonderful way to bring the Light of God into my cubbyhole at work. I like this devotional and it "hits home" this morning.
Just a little bit of a personal history, I have been employed with a local TV station for 31 years, our owner passed away recently and things are changing fast. New management, unsettled people, basically a continual uproar.
Last January, I started praying that God would open some doors for me so that I could find a new vocation. I have been into "still photography" as a hobby for years (40'ish)..... I really had never thought of starting my own photography business...... but the way things have been unfolding, I have felt that God has led me down this path. Too long a story to type here.... but I just feel God has "Opened the Door".
I have laid awake at night, praying and thinking and wanting to hear God say.... "Rob, this is the path you should take".... well it hasn't quite happened like that..... but I am praying that I am following God's direction and not my own human desires. It does seem to happen that when I ask God to show me the way, I always get a call to work on a project, so I am praying for my ability to follow God's direction.
The real point I guess I'm making is, It's all about God, it's not about me. (ie: book by Max Lucado)
As my business grows, I hope to leave the TV business and start working in my photography business full time. I am praying that God will let me use my talents and abilities to sustain my worldly goods through retirement.
One thing I can say, I give God all the Glory that He deserves.
I've gone on too long, God Bless everyone for reading and bearing with me as I proclaim God Blessing on me and my family.
QuoteIt posed the question "are you just fitting God into your life or are you living your life for God?
Hey Carl,
I hope that I am. I am trying to become the person that I know God expects. It's difficult to live in the world and keep "right" with God. I have promised myself, I will continue to work and being the Christian that I should be.
I can tell, I'm going to like this place. Being here with all you great Christian's instills my faith and helps me deal with the days problems. Thanks !
Hello, Rob, glad to hear you are enjoying CP :)
Hi nards, thanks a lot for the nice welcome. See you around here ..... I gotta get to work now. Have a great day !
Well Rob - it's great to have you in here! Isn't it great that we have a real and a personal God, One Who is really concerned with our moment-by-moment life? He is the awesome LORD GOD, but He is also our Father, and we can actually talk to Him about things in our lives. And He hears us and deals with us so gently and graciously! "Bless the Lord, O my soul, and all that is within me. Bless His holy Name!"
How true!
I have found hope to be powerful. My son was born with cp and we were told he wouldn't live. After the "grieving" period I learned to put my trust, hope and faith in God! He has helped me to deal with Michael each and every day no matter how things go. Michael will be 10 in december. Our God is faithful and true and gives us the grace we need.
It's also funny that the reading today talks of our putting our trust in Him. I guess this is where I'm supposed to be. Thanks for being here.
Blessings,
<><Jeannine
God Bless you Al and Jeannine, thanks for your kind words. I think I could write a book on what God has done for me and my family, but His Blessings continue each day.... so I could never write an ending. It is truly the Never-Ending Story.
Hope everyone has a great day and a wonderful week !
Rob...of course there is an ending....and it's a very good one for those that choose to accept the gift from God.
Greetings from Japan, Rob. I will pray with you, that God will give you the wisdom and strength to deal with this "new" place He's brought you into.
In His Grip,
Kevin
Rob; Welcome

Thank you for reminding me as I was feeling quite "down" about a rude remark from a person in another forum. It really isn't about me -
Marilyn: Hugs to you for whatever you are facing right now.
Jeannine: My best wishes to you and your family as well.
Larry: I didn't know you were coming to Denver for the reunion. I hope it is cooler and it should be at that my favorite time of the year.
Take care all, we are driving to Flathead Lake, Montana on Thursday morning and I will not be able to get online very often.
Carol
Good Evening all:
Not really anything to exciting around here although today has been much cooler than the past many weeks.
My brother-in-law lives in the north part of Ontario and just a while ago I spent about 1/2 an hour chatting on MSN a wonderful tool. Earlier this afternoon I went to Pennington's to have a boo at there 50% off summer sale. I purchased a jacket, shirt, slacks and socks all for less than 50.00 dollars.
Pat the Photo Cafe I think is much more than for amatures perhaps I am wrong, let me know if I am. Perhaps there is something that I am missing.
Ruth
Hi, friends,
Such good conversation in here today. Marilyn, I'll be praying with you about your request.
Rob, it's good to hear your testimony as you rely on Him for guidance in your life.

Hey Carl, You are one hundred percent correct.... I guess that is what I was eluding to as the "never ending story" being life eternal.
Carl, thanks again for leading me to this wonderful forum.
Thank you to those who are praying. Ruth Ann, Samantha etc.
Hello everyone...
As the story goes, "I'm late! I'm late!" and I am very late getting here today. Had some appointments today and a big huge struggle with the Photography Cafe too as we changed servers and it didn't all go as planned. Of course, I always feel that the Lord knows all about these things but the folks who aren't Christians just don't understand that way of thinking!
It's been so nice to come in here and read all your posts. Rob, I'm so enjoying getting to know you and I, too, am so happy that Carl told you about the site. And I will join the others in praying for your future in the photography business. I look forward to hearing all about it step by step.
Hi Ruth! Wonder if Penningtons here had the sale. Must drive by and see.
Marilyn, I'm praying.
Hi Liz and Carol. Carol, you hurry back ya heeer??
I know I've forgotten some but I'll be back to open the new New Every Morning soon.
I hope Janet is having a good time in China.
Etta Sue is our Judy B in Indiana? Or is that your friend Judy?
Thank you Pat.
Please remember to pray for my friend Willa, the Chemo side effects are really hurting her. She is in so much pain. Today her skin and the inside of her mouth feels like it is burning and has needles and pin sensations that won't go away. She said her mouth feels like it has blisters inside.
It was so nice to see you stop by Jeannine. I'm so sorry to read of your son. May you experience the closeness and the love of our Saviour in these days as you care for him.
Now, it's time to lock the door and open another for you all to continue you conversation in...
