Morning Devotional...For in that He Himself hath suffered being tempted, He is able to succor them that are tempted. Hebrews 2:18
Only one who has actually experienced a certain trial can truly empathize with another who goes through the same tribulation.
This passage teaches us that this principle applies fully to our Lord Jesus. Because our merciful High Priest in heaven bore all our sorrows, He is able and willing to give sufficient grace and help in every time of need.
Whenever we are in need, He is a Comforter indeed.
--E. MacLellandWhen gathering clouds around I view,
And days are dark, and friends are few,
On Him I lean, who not in vain
Experienced every human pain.

9.30 a.m. England.
Gosh I am first this morning! Probably by default as the site is upside down. It says November at the top and December underneath..........Oh well, the Lord knows. P'raps Pat was falling asleep! About time!
Foggy, wet and miserable here in Birmingham but my heart feels warm as I think of you all.
Pat Thanks again for the devotional. Yes we don't understand all of one anothers problems but I do pray that He will give us the "sympathising ear". As brothers and sisters in Christ we must try to reach out with arms wide open to those in need, just as Pat reminded us yesterday our Lord opens His arms to us, and "beginning with the household of the faith". Each of us has different needs, some are full of grief, some are sad and lonely and others are just desperate for a hug or some kind of recognition., longing for forgiveness and the "newness of life" which Jesus offered us at our beginning with Him and which seems to elude us as memories of past mistakes flood in.
Dear Ones, let us all this day show Christ's mercy to one another and to all who come this way. Jesus died for us all, He didn't say."not you,you make too many mistakes, I don't want you". Remember this:-
"But God who is rich in mercy , for His great love wherewith He loved us, even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved).
But now in Christ Jesus you who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ.
He came and preached peace to you which were afar off and to them that were nigh.
In whom ye are builded together for the habitation of God through the Spirit"
Ephesians 2:4,13,17,22.
are we builded together as a family in Christ?
I love you all.

Good morning/afternoon everyone!
God is good!To help me remember verses from the bible, I thought I would add my little part to the devotion.
Luke 10:25-37
The Parable of the Good Samaritan
25On one occasion an expert in the law stood up to test Jesus. "Teacher," he asked, "what must I do to inherit eternal life?"
26"What is written in the Law?" he replied. "How do you read it?"
27He answered: " 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind'[1] ; and, 'Love your neighbor as yourself.'[2] "
28"You have answered correctly," Jesus replied. "Do this and you will live."
29But he wanted to justify himself, so he asked Jesus, "And who is my neighbor?"
30In reply Jesus said: "A man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho, when he fell into the hands of robbers. They stripped him of his clothes, beat him and went away, leaving him half dead. 31A priest happened to be going down the same road, and when he saw the man, he passed by on the other side. 32So too, a Levite, when he came to the place and saw him, passed by on the other side. 33But a Samaritan, as he traveled, came where the man was; and when he saw him, he took pity on him. 34He went to him and bandaged his wounds, pouring on oil and wine. Then he put the man on his own donkey, took him to an inn and took care of him. 35The next day he took out two silver coins[3] and gave them to the innkeeper. 'Look after him,' he said, 'and when I return, I will reimburse you for any extra expense you may have.'
36"Which of these three do you think was a neighbor to the man who fell into the hands of robbers?"
37The expert in the law replied, "The one who had mercy on him."
Jesus told him, "Go and do likewise." _______________________________________________

Just a quick "Hello" since I haven't been in here in a few days :)
Hi all
I was advised this is the place where i should be introducing myself.
My name is neil and i am a 21 year old student from manchester uk. i found this site via a link in sonifos portfolio so i thought i wonder if they would let me join. soo here i am. i would class my self as a christian photographer as im a christian who photographs stuff lol, although i dont attend church regularly at the moment as i havent found one that feels right for me, church of england churches seem to be focusing on old people and i feel out of place. although i have just found a church that celebrates with music which makes me feel real good and happy so maybe im fitting in somewhere after all.
its nice to meet you all and hope to talk to you all in the future,
where ever i may be il always find a place to say happy birthday to my god on the 25th of this month

Hi everyone. Have been up to coffee at the cafe with my retired friends and the housekeepers are here this morning to clean the house. My wife and her sister are going to the church to prepare the children's packets for next Sunday's services and then we are going to a good bar-b-que place for lunch and she has to take her serger in as she couldn't get it to work over the weekend. (For those of you who may not know what a serger is it is a type of sewing machine.) We take Pat's sister back to the airport tomorrow afternoon. The ten days have really gone quickly.
I have a busy day planned so guess I had better get busy.
Neil!

Boots and those who are new on CP ~ I have a Barbara Johnson calender that has these words of wisdom that I put at the end of my first post of the day. I wish they were my own but I certainly give Barbara Johnson all the credit!
Larry ~ Thanks for the link to Oswald Chambers. I put it in my favorites.

Good Morning! I almost forgot to use BOLD for Sonja! ;) We are trying to catch up on things that piled up during our time away, so this will be a busy day. We did go swim, needed to burn off some of those pie calories! ::)
Jenny and Sonja, very good Scripture posts today, thank you!
We have to go get our dog and bring her home. Bet she will be happy to see us again!

Did I miss a General Directive here????? Pleeze enlighten me!
Welcome aboard, Neil. We're pretty calm and pretty conservative around here, but we get along really well. (Conservative based on the American definition, not sure about UK definitions???)
Nards, it is just that Sonja is having trouble with her eyes, and using bold helps her to be able to read it better. Not a general directive, just a "neighborly gesture" for dear Sonja! ;D
I OFTEN misplace my keys, so I put them on a long rawhide shoelace that I wear around my neck. One day I walked into a store with the keys in my hand and the string dangling to the ground. A woman approached me and said in a kind voice, "I hate to tell you this, but you've lost your dog."

Did you get all you can eat?
Hey Nards! I got to ask this, do you help with dishes after the thanksgiving meal or do you watch football?
With 40 people :o at Mike's folks' Thanksgiving dinner, everyone pitched in with all the chores and cooking.
The tv was on and football was playing, but not to many watched it. They decided to play a game of real football in the gym. I got a few pictures of the guys playing basketball but not football.
Good Morning:
Pat thank you for the devotional this morning.
It took me an hour to get on line and stay onl line this morning, I had to disable my firewall to get on. A pain in theneck for sure.
It is still raining here and I am doing laundry, I have to go outside to the shed to get to the wasaher and dryer. So I am getting rain washed myself.
Be back later I am off to look at the new photo challenges for this month.

At Karma's Mom's, I'm a pretty useless dog in that I eat and then do as little as possible... Of course, her Mom doesn't let anybody help with the dishes, so I'm not sure if I'm a dirty dog or not...
At my Mom and Dad's, I usually weasel out of it somehow, too, but I sometimes help beforehand. Not sure. I guess I need to work on that...
Hi folks, church was very good as usual yesterday, we have a wonderful Pastor, a great preacher, he stated yesterday that "there will be no soft pedalling of sin while I'm Pastor!" lol.
We have just finished studying the book of James, a very good study.
We are saved by grace not good works, but we are saved FOR good works.
A person can be as super -spiritual as he likes,
but if his faith doesn't cause him to give, and give and give again, then his faith is a vain thing.
We are all saved to serve God and one another.
"It is far more blessed to give than to receive" amen. ;)
You do your share Nards.
You eat what's put before you, and praise God for it. lol :) ;)
Sonja, YES, I got way too much to eat! I don't think I have ever seen that many kinds of pie for one occasion before, at least at a home! Maybe at a benefit supper or something......anyway, I am guilty, because I tried to make one of everyone's favorite kind! I made sour cream raisin, custard, pumpkin, coconut cream, chocolate and lemon. Then my sister also had pecan, pumpkin, lemon, banana cream. Oh, my! I think everyone ate themselves silly. But it was wonderful to be with family we don't get to see often.
Bernard, my niece's husband got right in there and washed dishes! He is so tall, he was standing with his feet about three feet apart so he didn't have to lean over so far to reach the sink. Great guy!
We got Cookie back home, now I need to get the clothes out of the dryer and put more in. Always laundry to do after a trip!
Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, and into His courts with praise: be thankful unto Him and bless His name. Psalm 100:4
Well I finally got my laundry done except the 2nd load need to finish drying whikle I am gone to work. Which I will be doing in just a short while.
I got the computer doing what it is supposed to be doing and noticed that all the print on the screen is back to being the right size and color. Don't know what I did to make it correct itself but Praise God that it did.

ps. why does it say im a llama lol
Hi there...
So good to see you posting!
The software that Christian Photographers uses automatically puts that in for all new folks but you can change it.
You go to your Profile and where it says, "I'm a llama", you can put something else. You could put a scripture verse reference or you could put where you live or even the kind of camera you use.
Pat
Click on the "profile" button at the top and it should take you to a page where you can adjust that.
We do actually have a couple of members younger than you, physically, then there are some of us who don't act near as old as we should. :P
....and here I am. I'm really old, Neil, but I just heard at church yesterday that "old people" are precious and very wise, so just any old time you want me to say something wise, speak right up.
In the meantime.......I've heard of that song you mentioned...but not the band. I remember the lyrics from somewhere.
No rain in my world today. I think I'm gonna try to grab Jane later, and maybe we can go to Shore Acres where they have 1000s of Christmas lights each year. It opens right after Thanksgiving and goes through to New Year. I should be able to take come pictures I like. I didn't much want to go out in the rain (even though Oregonians are mostly oblivious to the stuff.....unless you're old and like a dry head. ;D)
I"m ready for Christmas! I'm ready for lights and sparkles and fluffy pretend snow, nativity scenes, Christmas carols, and all the new songs that come out each year....I'm just ready, in my heart, for Christmas this year. Pat, I pray you can reach a place where it is joyful for you instead of painful remembrance. I know it may be hard for you.
I didn't post any pictures for the Thanksgiving season, but I notice our new challenge is for Christmas, so I want to take some. I'm looking forward to snow pictures from those who are in the stuff. :)
God bless.
Hahahhahaa....Nita! I am laughing but not sure why. Silly! What did you say?
Ever since Chris posted a link to this hymn the other day, I've been humming and humming it.
Just thought we could sing it again.

O The Bitter Shame and Sorrow (http://christianphotographers.com/sounds/st_jude.mid)
(Click to hear music)
"Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do."
Luke 23:34
Words: Theodore Monod, 1874.
Music: Charles J. Vincent, Jr.
O the bitter shame and sorrow,
That a time could ever be,
When I let the Savior's pity
Plead in vain, and proudly answered,
"All of self, and none of Thee!"
Yet He found me; I beheld Him
Bleeding on th'accursèd tree,
Heard Him pray, "Forgive them, Father!"
And my wistful heart said faintly,
"Some of self, and some of Thee!"
Day by day His tender mercy,
Healing, helping, full and free,
Sweet and strong, and ah! so patient,
Brought me lower, while I whispered,
"Less of self, and more of Thee!"
Higher than the highest heavens,
Deeper than the deepest sea,
Lord, Thy love at last hath conquered:
Grant me now my supplication,
"None of self, and all of Thee!"
Monod, a Parisian, wrote these words, in English, during a series of consecration meetings in Broadlands, England, in July 1874. At the close of the meetings, he gave them to Lord Mount-Temple, who had them printed on a program card for a series of similar meetings at Oxford in October 1874.

LOL
Sonja, now people will be thinking you're sort of strange....haha.....after I deleted my other post. This is so laughable!
I asked if you were lauging because I had posted really big letters...and made reference to if you "could hear me". I thought Janet had said something about your ears, just teasing, so I kept it up. THEN.......when I discovered she'd actually said "eyes", and had said it in all seriousness and was being kind.
THEN......I felt silly, and didn't want to delete it in case you had seen it, so I was hoping you'd think it was funny too.
THEN......I hoped no one had seen it and deleted it quick as I could.....BUT you did and you posted, and now I guess I'd better let everyone know what your post is about.
NOW. If anyone is still confused, pray for me. ;D
EDIT: And Pat......my post doesn't seem appropriate after that song. Sorry my timing if off.
HAHAHA! That's funny when that happens, Nita. It's happened to me too in the past.
Well when ya aint here, ya miss things! So here it comes now:

Neil...........
Hello Neil and welcome to NEM. Age really doesn't matter in this forum. NEM is a place Christians can come together to share their love for the Lord and become acquainted with other men and women in the Lord. Remember this.......When we all get to heaven there won't be anything like young and old.
I'd like to give you a tiny bit of sound Christian advice. A church is not a place to feel warm fuzzys, and feel good. The truth is Neil, we should feel very uncomfortable in any church where the pastor teaches the Word of God. If the pastor you spoke of was teaching the Word of God, you may well have been in the right place. If a Christian goes to a church to be entertained he/she is in the wrong place. Now let me qualify this. We should sing our hearts out to the Lord. This is called worship, right? Nothing wrong with enjoying the hymns as long as we concentrate on the words we are singing, and not just singing to make music. There is a lot of conversation with our Lord in our singing. Here's an example of what I'm talking about. "His name is wonderful, His name is wonderful, His name is wonderful, Jesus my Lord. He is the mighty king, master of everything..............." All this said, if all of the above can be found and there are also worshippers of your age group, you've chosen well. I really don't believe I've gone off on a tangent Neil. Just the opinion of an old codger who loves our Lord. Again, WELCOME.
Janet............QuoteNards, it is just that Sonja is having trouble with her eyes, and using bold helps her to be able to read it better. Not a general directive, just a "neighborly gesture" for dear Sonja!
Thanks for the advice Janet. You've just answered why Sonja's miissed all of my posts.

12.40 a.m. Tuesday. England.
Hello All.
I am sitting here already for my bed, but having tried to log on since 7 p.m. to no avail I try again and lo .......an entrance.......
The Manufacturers of my "puter are sending me a C.D. Modem update, plus a new wire for my machine. Hopefully things will improve. If not, they are now ready to act!
I note you are having trouble too Marilyn. I have my Firewall off also. It's the only way for me to get-on line.
It's continued raining into the night hours., everywhere smells damp. My daughter and grandsons are suffering with asthma as per usual this weather.Even dear little William ages 11 months is now on steroids!
I succombed to watching a film on television last afternoon. The Bible. Jesus Part 1. It was lovely and Jeremy Sisto played Jesus. , he showed Our Lord's humanity very well I thought. It was absolutely lovely. I am going to time things to see Part 2 later today.
Marilyn We have a little crib scene which we put up at Christmas also., with the figures of Mary, Joseph, shepherds and wise men and the tiny Christ child in a crib. We place the sheep and cattle around Him. This means more to me than a tree., although Chris still likes a tree and of course when the grandsons come over they have some small sweets hanging on the tree for them.
Lee Yes , lets sing up!
Oh yes Jesus is Lord,
Jesus is Lord,
Jesus is Lord.
Oh yes Jesus is Lord,
Jesus Christ is Lord.
Sonja, nice to see you up and about. God is good. Let's shout about it!
Nearly 1 a.m. here. I must go to bed now.
Goodnight,. God bless all.

Hello Everyone...
Neil, I'm so glad you are posting. In time you'll get to know each one of us better. You'll get to know when some are speaking "tongue in cheek" etc.
Neil, what part of England are you in? I love England. I've been there so very many times and love hiking over there. Not sure now if I could do much of that as old "Uncle Arther-itis" has set in my crazy knees but I would sure love to give it a try.
I guess, Neil, one of my favorite places would be around Yorkshire down to Chester and then into Wales. I love Wales. My hubby and I hiked so much over the years in both North and Mid-Wales. We didn't do much in the south except a couple of days in Brecon Beacons.
So, it's great to see you here and we're really looking forward to getting to know you better in the coming days.
I heard soemthing today I thought profound.........
"It's far better to be old once, and young twice, than to only have been young."
Let's sing the chorus that Lee mentioned...

Sonja you asked for photos of my Christmas stuff. you got it. It is there. I'll admit I don't have much but I appreciate what I do have.
And they are lovely to see! I've been there to see them.
Lee~ I am so ashamed! I was trying to quote your last comment;
I heard soemthing today I thought profound.........
"It's far better to be old once, and young twice, than to only have been young."
And I ended up modifing your post instead.
I fixed it. I just wanted to say I am so sorry.
I did get a good laugh out of it.
My comment to your comment was:
hahhahhahaha...you lost me! .;D
Well it's time for old ladies to start thinking about getting ready for bed, I guess - at least this one. I was up early, worked just a little more than 1/2 day and then came home and put in two more hours on town stuff. And tomorrow will be another day like today.
Maybe tomorrow I'll have time to look for some photos for the new challenges.
I'm just stopping by to bid you all good night! I had a great day, got to chat with Marilyn, Sarah, Pat, MIEKA, and Sonja! God is so good.
I am ready for bed and it is too early - I was awake much too early this morning.
We are packed and ready for our trip to San Francisco tomorrow - a tourist trip this time. Just wanted to mention it so you know that I will be out-of-touch for several days.
Sonja: Take care!
Carol
Oh, Carol, we miss you when you're away. Hurry back! How long will you be away?
I'm outta here too! Got some chores to do before tomorrow!

Lee, The first thing that came to my mind was perhaps some of us "OLDIES" are in our second childhood. ;D ;D
Lee, this young again person played golf today. It was a beautiful day here in East Texas.
Remember Lee I said I would not rub it in, about the weather, no more than once a week. ;D ;D

Hi. It's me again. Jane and I went to Shore Acres tonight and it rained all the time we were there. :-\ I took a few pictures while she held the umbrella over my head, but not one of them turned out. We didn't stay long, and it stopped raining almost the minute we left. Strange. I guess I wasn't supposed to take pictures tonight. The lights were really pretty, and everyone had cameras, mostly hidden protectively in their coats.
I'm gonna follow old Jeanne and head to bed soon too. ;D
Everyone have a blessed evening and morning. Ria, I pray you wake up with a song in your heart.
Good night everyone...
Our Brits and Dutch folks will be in here soon and I sure hope that there are many posts to read by the time I get here.
It was so nice to be able to speak to Meeks on Yahoo tonight. She sounds like she's in good spirits.
Pray for her.
Now it's time to lock this door and open another for you all.
Here's a link to it...
