Morning Devotional...

Trials and Pain:
The Sharp Blade of the Plow

Sow for yourselves righteousness; reap in mercy; break up your fallow ground, for it is time to seek the Lord, till He comes and rains righteousness on you.
--Hosea 10:12

The fallow field is smug, contented, protected from the shock of the plow and the agitation of the harrow.... But it is paying a terrible price for its tranquility: Never does it see the miracle of growth; never does it feel the motions of mounting life nor see the wonders of bursting seed nor the beauty of ripening grain. Fruit it can never know because it is afraid of the plow and the harrow.

In direct opposite to this, the cultivated field has yielded itself to the adventure of living. The protecting fence has opened to admit the plow, and the plow has come as plows always come, practical, cruel, business-like and in a hurry. Peace has been shattered by the shouting farmer and the rattle of machinery. The field has felt the travail of change; it has been upset, turned over, bruised and broken, but its rewards come hard upon its labors. The seed shoots up into the daylight its miracle of life, curious, exploring the new world above it. All over the field the hand of God is at work in the age-old and ever renewed service of creation. New things are born, to grow, mature, and consummate the grand prophecy latent in the seed when it entered the ground. Nature's wonders follow the plow.
Paths to Power, 31-32.

"Lord, make me a cultivated field.
I suspect the price will be high,
but I long to bear fruit for Your glory.
Do the hard work of the farmer in my life today.
Amen."

GOOD MORNING ALL     10.05AM

Pat thank you this morning also for the devotional
also for the hymn yesterday and the nice photo's
from you and Judy Mc.  You booth have had a lot fun. :)

In hole Holland there is coming on 1-4-2004 a fusion between 3 kinds of Protestant churches. Also the church where i am going is in the fusion. There are then in hole Holland 2 1\2 million members of the new church. The church also get a new name. But also the Luthern church is going in the fusion there are in Holland 16000 people in Holland
who are going to a Luthern church. But a lot people of
the Protestant churches they don't like the Luthern
church. They are afraid that a lot people no more are going to the new church. Then there is coming a split
in the new church. The name of the new church is PKN
Protestant church (kerk) Netherlands.

IT IS RAINING IN HOLLAND AND DARK

Have you any room for Jesus
He who bore your load of sin?

I wish you all a BLESSED DAY

Jenny ~ Thank you for the comment on the graphics.  The ornament was made in my PSP 8 lessons.  Might as well use them!!!  I agree with Sonja....what is an iron?

Marilyn ~ That will be wonderful to have our Mieka back in the states with us!!!  Whoo-eeeee!

Sonja ~ I have two irons....but I don't use either one.  I look at labels....no ironing...no dry cleaning for me!

Al ~ The little Christmas tree is from a friend on SrNet.  She sends me all kinds ot 'kitty' things!!!  She is my neighbor, too.  Lives west of me near the state line.  But I did meet her in Calgary.

Jeanne ~ Thank God that God was in the driver's seat.  From youR description, it sounds like Gene and the other man was very calm througout the 'accident'.  Another sign of God's presence.

Nita ~ We still have time to do stuff before Jesus' Birthday.  I just remembered this morning or finally realized that I need to get my Christmas Cards addresses and out.  Jerry's son, DIL and G-son is coming from Italy.  Will be in the States the 17th.  They will be coming here but not sure when.  I sure don't want to have things to do while they are here.  Want to spoil that little 4-month old!!!

Judy Mc ~ Glad to see your posts.  Rags sounds cute even if she does tear up Kleenex's.

Sarah ~ Sorry about your game.  But you know the old cliche?  Ya can't win 'em all!!

Nards & Karma ~ I am praying that this new day bring all your little family good health!!!

HaPpY BiRtHdAy ZaChArY!!!!!

Dark and gloomy today.  Predicting snow maybe tonight, tomorrow and tomorrow night.  We haven't had any accumulation so far this year and here it is, the middle of December.  I must get started AND finish my Christmas cards!!!!

Good Morning. Still pouring rain here don't expect  it to be any different any time soon.

Pat thanks for the devotion this morning and the pretty graphics Pat and Etta Sue. One of these day I just may learn to use my PSP 8 too. Maybe while I am recouperating after my surgery.

I have been in all the other forums here reading and looking at photos etc. Those are great [photos of the Winter Faire and of Lauren, Pat.

Nards really gave you an indepth study on Christian Music, Sonja. Very informative.

Pat did you get those photos I sent you from Alan a couple of weeks ago. The ones of the Fungi and one of his walks?

Going tocheck my email now.

It's a blustery, cold, wet, wintry day here on the Oregon Coast ... I don't plan to be out in it for long today, but I will need to take the bulletins over to the church so, while I'm out, I'll probably do a little shopping.  My cupboard is looking a little bare.   :-\

I trust each of you will have a wonderful day in your  corner of the world and a most glorious day with the Lord.

Well Sonja, about that gift. You see It had arrived inthe mail and was still in the envelope it arrived in since I had instructions not to open it until Christmas. There were two gifts and a card inthe envelope. One was totally unwrapped and collector's thimble. The other is still wrapped and waiting for Christmas morning. Bebe just shredded the outside envelope.

Good morning my Christian brothers and sisters........

Please take a moment to digest Ria's last post.  Do you recognize what's happening?

Ria.............

You wrote [in part]: "In hole Holland there is coming on 1-4-2004 a fusion between 3 kinds of Protestant churches."  This, Ria, is one of the most powerful and prophetic writings I've read coming from your part of the world (Aside from those occuring in Israel today).  Do you recognize that your churches are among the beginnings of our Lord's prophesying of the One World Church in the End Times?
There is a very strong movement here in the USA pushing toward that very goal.  Exciting Ria, very exciting.[/b]

Hey, everybody!  I'm home!  Did you miss me?  No?   :'(

Well, I'm here anyway!  And so thankful to be here, too!  I had an experience related to Gene's!  On the way to Dodge yesterday, I had been following a really long horsetrailer (for four hourses, plus living space for the owners, pulled behind a crew cab pickup; so it was a LONG rig!)  It had been covering me up with snow, and I was tired of following it.  It finally cleared up enough that I could see ahead, so I started to pass him, and there came a big semi!  When I tapped my brakes to lessen my speed and get back behing the trailer......whoosh!  We were down a steep embankment and in the bottome of the ditch!  I prayed all the way down "help us, Lord, please help us!" and got stopped just before we would have gone into a drainage ditch with a big culvert.

I was perfecty calm, Beth wasn't making a sound......I got out, looked the situation over and decided I should be able to back up far enough to where the bank leveled out enough to drive back up onto the highway.  I tried that a few times......could go forward easily, but not back very well.  A car stopped up on the highway and the lady asked me if I had a cell phone.  I did have Darrel's, she asked where I was from and I told her.  Too far to call home for help.  Anyway, her husband got out of the car and asked me if I'd like for him to drive my car out of there.  I said "I would sure let you!"  So he did!  I was sure praising the Lord for our safety, for the kind couple's help (found out they know my daughter and son in law, Abby's parents)  And I prayed for God to bless them really good, in a special way, for their kindness.

I don't like driving on ice!  In the snow!  Especailly behind something too big to see around!  >:( :(  But I sure like serving a God who numbers the very hairs on our heads, and keeps us in all our ways.  THANK YOU AGAIN, GOD!!  I LOVE YOU!!!

This is getting too long, so I will go look at your new photos and come back and chat more later!

Lee, I thought the same thing when I read dear Ria's post!  And I heard on the radio today that the European Union are having trouble coming to agreement on their constitution.  But they will do it........the end draws near!

Hi everyone on a very chilly and rainy day here in Georgia.  In a little while we will be going to our Sunday School Christmas party.  It is a potluck and we all contributed to the cost of the meat for the dinner.  We are having it at the Church.  This is nice as it will be quieter.  Last night we had a wonderful time at the choir Christmas Party.  There were about 40 people there and the hosts have a lovely and large home.  We had good food and fellowship.

This morning Pat and I wrapped all of the packages for under the tree and I got the gifts sent off for our grandchildren and great grandchild.  I think we are pretty well set for Christmas.

Zachery, happy birthday wishes to you.

Jeanne and Janet, those near miss stories are really something.  I don't envy you all having to deal with ice and snow on the roads.

It is good to hear that Mieka will be back in the USA for a couple of weeks.  It doesn't sounds like she is working in very good conditions.  It must be tough going from California to a very cold place.

Ria, it sounds like there will be some interesting days ahead for your church situation.  We can't even agree within our own congregation so can't image trying to merge with other churches, although know that is happening in the USA as well. Do hope you will be able to get a chair on which to sit for the Sunday service in your church.

Nice to see the pretty Christmas graphics being posted.

Pat, a very interesting devotional this morning.

It is good to see so many posting today.  See you all tomorrow.

"Hark! How the bells
Sweet silver bells
All seem to say
Throw cares away.

Christmas is here
Bringing good cheer
To young and old
Meek and the bold

Ding dong ding dong
That is their song
With joyful ring
All caroling

One seems to hear
Words of good cheer
From everywhere
Filling the air

Oh how they pound!
Raising the sound
O'er hill and dale
Telling the tale

Gaily they ring
While people sing
Songs of good cheer
Christmas is here!"
Happy Holidays

Just a quick note to say I'm here.  ;D  We'll be leaving in a few minutes for a cookie-swap Christmas party at our neighbor's - and I did make some cookies.  I only cheated a little, using Betty Crocker Sugar Cookie mix and putting it into the cookie press.  The only decorating I did on them was to sprinkle a little colored sugar on while they were still hot from the oven.  :-\

We went to the Senior Center for a special Christmas luncheon at noon and had a lovely meal - more like a dinner than lunch.  Delicious, but we had to leave when they started bringing out the dessert - it was apple crisp and the cinnamon got to Gene instantly.  Other than that, it was a really nice time.

Janet, your accident sounds even more frightening than Gene's.  I don't think he even had time to form a prayer before he was in the snowbank.  But praise the Lord you, Beth and Gene all were enclosed in His protection.

Thank You, Father, for Your wonderful protection over Gene, Janet, and Beth!
The "fusion" of those churches signals the work of Satan indeed.  The way it's usually done is for some of the leaders to say, "Oh there really aren't that many differences - we can compromise on them easily."  They end up compromising on extremely important doctrine.  They end up as unbelievers.  The ones who were not consulted and had no say are forced to either accept it or leave.  They no longer have a church.  It's sad, very sad.  However, Satan isn't very good at it.  He makes terrible mistakes, ruffles many feathers, and ends up with not so much as he planned.  Besides - Christ still has, and always will have, His Church.  In the end, He will come to claim her, and she will be pure unto eternity!
He has never yet lost even one battle!

Things are progressing toward our move on the 18th.  We went to the new place today and made arrangements with the woman who is still there to have Marbeth come in on the 18th in the AM, even while the movers are there, to clean bathrooms, kitchen, etc.  Then, praise God, our crew from the church will by that time have the truck full, and we can go and put things in there places.  I look for our Lord to bless us!

12.30 a.m. Sunday.

Jeannie I do hope you enjoy the party.
I have just had a little party of my own.  I found a lovely Web-site fom my dear village of memories (i.e. Pat.the goat and the churchyard)...Keelby, Lincolnshire.

Gosh what a surprise, I know places change but from the amount of businesses set up there now it is almost beyond recognition.  I did however write to the owner of the site and express my joy at finding Keelby again. There were also some photos of the old Keelby as I remember it., I was distressed to learn that the old Primitive Chapel had been demolished.  I went to some services there with my young friends years ago....ah well, "time waits for no man."

I went out this afternoon on the scooter but didn't overstay.  It was an icy afternoon...freezing. Brrr! I had a Wedding gift to deliver to the vicar.  He was married a week ago. Unfortunately no-one was there but I was so glad to see my dear friend Sidney come round the corner in his car.  We talked for awhile and he expressed his fears. I reassured him that I pray for him...I came home with tears after he told me that he had missed me...Aaah! I love this man, he's a real gentleman of the "old school".  He's 91 now and feeling frail.  Please pray for him if you can spare him a few moments.

Well I am finally off to bed.  I was up early today, as Pat knows.

Good night,
God bless,
Happy Lord's Day.
Jenny. :)

Hey guys, thought I'd join  8). I had a swim meet today I got the best time that I had ever got before on the 50 freestyle 30 seconds ;D!! I got disqualified on the 100 I.M. which is fly, back, breast, free in that order, when I started off the diving blocks I dove in but when I came back up I accidently started freestyle and was like oops and started to do fly the rest of the way. ::)

Hi everyone! Thanks for all the Birthday wishes.  :)

Well, good job T-bone!

I just got a haircut today. I got a mullet.  8)  My mom and I went shopping.  We went to the bagel shop and had a bagel sandwich.  We went to the dollar store and got some candles to stick on my cake that I didn't make today.  I got a game to go with my xbox.  We had great time.

Thanks for the devotional and all the interesting posts.
Not in a talkative mood, so simply stopping to say Hi!

Welcome to The Foos Bro's......that sounds like the name of a band!

God Bless.

Welcome aboard, T-Bone and Mullet.  Glad to have you guys around!

Hello to everyone else, as well.  Karma has gone to bed and I'm going to have to follow before long.

I hope everyone has a great day at church tomorrow.  It's possibly going to be icy here, and Karma is still feeling pretty rough, so I'm not sure if we'll be out in the morning or not.

Ria, we love you, sis.  Hang in there.

Hi Everyone......Pat has left for home.    She went west from Rexdale and I went east.    Praying for her to arrive safely.    She has to get back to her doggie Geordie and CP.

We had a lovely evening with a lady playing the harp.  The lady who was supposed to sing had a bad throat so we all pulled together and came up with some talent.    Pat played the piano and I sang   "That beautiful Name"    Here are the words to the chorus.

That beautiful Name, that beautiful Name
From sin has power to free us
That beautiful Name, that Wonderful Name
That Matchless Name is Jesus

God Bless

Love Ruthie

Hi Pat...  I finally got on under my own name...
Seeing I made a few mistakes in the post that was supposed to be mine but was posted under your name, I think you had better edit that post and correct the mistakes so you don't look like you are making mistakes.   WHEW!!!      HAHAHAHA.

Anyway, I enjoyed the evening.

Love Ruthie

Hi Pat!  Good to have you back with us.  I sure missed you today.

We didn't get the cake made today. We were gone most the day, so we plan to cook it tomorrow.  mmm...I can't wait.

Troy and Zachery finally decided to join us here on CP.  I am sure they will enjoy the devotions and learn some from all of you.

I am headed to bed.  Talk with you all later.

Sonja, that's good news!  I'm looking forward to getting to know Troy and Zach a lot better.

I haven't read all of today's posts yet but I will.

I'm ready for bed and Ruthie is too!  Now, I'm locking the door for tonight.
