Morning Devotional...LAST DAYS
2 Timothy 3:1-17 NIV
But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God--having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with them.
They are the kind who worm their way into homes and gain control over weak-willed women, who are loaded down with sins and are swayed by all kinds of evil desires, always learning but never able to acknowledge the truth. Just as Jannes and Jambres opposed Moses, so also these men oppose the truth--men of depraved minds, who, as far as the faith is concerned, are rejected. But they will not get very far because, as in the case of those men, their folly will be clear to everyone.
You, however, know all about my teaching, my way of life, my purpose, faith, patience, love, endurance, persecutions, sufferings--what kinds of things happened to me in Antioch, Iconium and Lystra, the persecutions I endured. Yet the Lord rescued me from all of them. In fact, everyone who wants to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted, while evil men and impostors will go from bad to worse, deceiving and being deceived.
But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have become convinced of, because you know those from whom you learned it, and how from infancy you have known the holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.

Another cold night. It is 24°F right now in central Indiana and the wind is still blowing blizzard-like out there. Come on summer!!!!
I had a busy day mostly writing personal letters to go with Christmas cards. I am one that likes those newsy letters. Wish everyone would do that. I have received some cards from people that I didn't know had changed addresses. So happy that I now have a new address.
Well, my eyes are tired so I think it is time to hit the sack! Oops! Better let the cat back in!!

What a great reminder to all of us, Etta Sue! Thanks so much.

THE BIBLE STANDS (http://www.christianphotographers.com/sounds/biblestn.mid)
(Click title for music)
The Bible stands like a rock undaunted
'Mid the raging storms of time;
Its pages burn with the truth eternal,
And they glow with a light sublime.
Refrain
The Bible stands though the hills may tumble,
It will firmly stand when the earth shall crumble;
I will plant my feet on its firm foundation,
For the Bible stands.
The Bible stands like a mountain towering
Far above the works of men;
Its truth by none ever was refuted,
And destroy it they never can.
Refrain
The Bible stands and it will forever,
When the world has passed away;
By inspiration it has been given,
All its precepts I will obey.
Refrain
The Bible stands every test we give it,
For its Author is divine;
By grace alone I expect to live it,
And to prove and to make it mine.
Refrain

I see you picked a unique name for yourself. I like unique names, especially ones that rhyme. For I have a tendancy to enjoy laughter as it is good medicine & I laugh @ the silliest or corniest jokes. I even laugh @ my own, for someone has to entertain me while my husband is gone & well, most often it's me. Although, I have a tendancy to comunicate with people who are full of jokes.
Please take a moment here & introduce URself, for we'd all like to take some time out & get to know ya a little better. I've not checked too much out here yet, so it may be that I've overlooked your introduction. My Dear friend TBEAR here told me that we had a new member here, so I thought that I'd take some time out of my busy schedule & Welcome you here:
We love it here. It's fun here & a lot going on & someone is alway's on line it seem's like. You can track replies to your posts here, Or ya can find your friend's posts like what I did her with TBEAR. Well, she told me to. However, I like to keep intouch with some of my firends this way.
Good morning! I'm not sure what the weather is like yet, it's still dark outside! I have to take Beth to the doctor this morning, and Abby is begging me to come to her school today, so I guess that is on the agenda. Then tonight is the Christmas dinner at Mom's care home. Busy week! Have to take Mom to the eye doctor in Garden City each day for the following three days (cataract surgery) and then we will go to Dodge on Saturday to pick up John! So my traveling isn't over, just changed to more local kind of traveling.
TBear, I love your little graphics! And I bought quite a few postcards in Thailand, so if you don't mind US postage, I could send you one. Also have some email ones, so let me know whaich you would like.
I seem to be really tired today. I guess that should be expected, but..............oh, well. Whatever I don't get done will wait, I guess.
I wish all of you a wonderful day today. I will try to check back in later, but don't know how my time will be today----or the rest of the week, for that matter.
Good Morning One and All, Janet, Tbear, Pat, Etta Sue and all the others who will join us herer today.(https://www.christianphotographers.com/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fwebzoom.freewebs.com%2Fmarilyn_793%2FWelcome1.jpg&hash=e06fe692b7627e8c3dd8f9818649d434cdfba1c6)

What's on the Menu Today! (http://christianphotographers.com/community/index.php?topic=3837.new;boardseen#new)
Come join us and tell us what's on your menu for today.
:-* ;D ;D Happy Birthday, Sue!!! ;D ;D :-*
Catching up here.
Papa John: You may not have time to read this message but I do want to send my sympathy on the loss of your Walker.
T.Bear: I am going to check out the pineapple chicken recipe, that sounds unusual. Thanks.
Sue: Happy Birthday
Janet: Welcome Back! The temperature change must be a shock!
Pat: I hope that your cold is about over.
Today, we are finishing a bathroom re-do and hanging the new light fixture as well as Don will pound in the new baseboard that he has been staining and varnishing for five days. Carol
Good morning from a cold and snowy Western NC. It is less than an inch, but Bernard said the roads were really bad this morning. As a result, Travis and I are staying in today. I have been saying for weeks that if I just had one day at home, I could get things in reasonable order. I've got my day!! And I am sitting at the computer. heheheh
I do a three year cycle with Christmas cards. I buy them one year (either after Christmas, or if I can find a good sale), address them the next, then send them out the next. hahaha. not really, but that is what it seems like. I, too, like to get cards that have a note in them, rather than just a signature, but I'm a signature kinda gal myself. This year, I've got a Christmas portrait of nard, trav, and myself that I may put in with a note or letter.
Travis has found our baby monitors and is using them like a cell phone. :-) how funny. The child keeps us laughing most of the time. He is really looking forward to the baby. I hope he stays that way after she is here.
Janet, good to have you home. Travelling like that is so exciting, but so tiring, too. When I came home from Russia in 2000 after 2 weeks over there, it took a week or so for me to get back in the swing of things. I'm glad you had a good time.
Happy Birthday to those this week, and coming in the next day or two, in case I forget to mention it again. <sheepish look>
Off to see some news! Have a great day, to all of you!!!!

Good Morning Everyone!
Wow! What fun here in New Every Morning today! The little graphics sure brighten up the spot, don't they?
It's so nice to see your posts Janet. Great to have you home but you have me so tired already reading what you have to do this week! :o
I want to thank you again for all the kind expressions of your sympathy. The visitation is from 3:00 to 7:00 this afternoon and tonight and the funeral tomorrow afternoon. It is good to have Christian friends. Carol I have time to read all of the notes here.
It is a beautiful day here so far but it is COLD, down in the 20’s.
Good to see each one. Welcome to all the new comers.
Ps 8:1-9
1 O LORD our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth! who hast set thy glory above the heavens.
2 Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings hast thou ordained strength because of thine enemies, that thou mightest still the enemy and the avenger.
3 When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained;
4 What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him?
5 For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory and honour.
6 Thou madest him to have dominion over the works of thy hands; thou hast put all things under his feet:
7 All sheep and oxen, yea, and the beasts of the field;
8 The fowl of the air, and the fish of the sea, and whatsoever passeth through the paths of the seas.
9 O LORD our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth!

I'm stopping by before leaving for Hugoton. Â Beth's doctor says she has lost strength, and some of her pain is back, so he increased the steroids again. Â She was down to a half pill every other day, because she HATES gaining weight! Â He also is setting up an appointment with an oncologist, and wants her to have another MRI soon.
I have a headache today, but am believing it will be gone soon. Â I think it's just due to being so tired, lack of sleep, and falling asleep sitting up on the planes. Â That's hard on my neck. Â :-\
Marilyn, you are finished shopping (almost anyway) and I haven't started yet! Â Well, we did buy lots of things in Thailand, but I do not have the first package wrapped yet! Â Poor bare tree just sitting there!
Thanks for the warm welcome home from several of you. Â That does give me a warm, fuzzy feeling. :)
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, SUE!!! Â And many more!
Now I must be off to Hugoton. Â I had the best conversation with grandson Mark last night. Â He was so excited about us meeting his friend Joe in Thailand. Â That's the most he has talked to me in ages--it was great!
See you good folks later!
Larry----you are in my prayers today!
Etta Sue: Thanks for your time this morning.
The graphics are sure nice but were do you folk get them from.
Happy Birthday to Our Wonderful Daughter Sue
Pat: Â Continue to get well having a cold is no fun.
Last evening hubby started to get dinner before I got home and to my surprise I was greeted with a note and  unfinished dinner saying that he was at the hospital getting his finger stitched back together. The finger got sliced instead of the roast, it anything is good he only required 4 stitches.
Have a wonderful day
Ruth

Papa John, we will all be thinking about you during this time of sorrow. Bless your heart!  Just know you are getting some extra love from your loved ones on CP.Â
Janet, I can see already that Thailand didn't slow you down. S l o w e r, b r e a t h e ! ! !
Karma, I like your way of sending Christmas cards....so funny!!! I like to put in a little note in cards but my writing is terrible. (I write too close to the paper, too) So that is one reason why I like to type a generic letter that will fit all my friends and family. I love reading what all my loved ones have done through out the year. But, hey, I spill the beans every day here on CP so you guys know all I have done!! ;D ;D ;D
Ruth, glad that hubby did get some stitches. My husband was a butcher and he visited the ER quite frequently. I wouldn't let him sharpen knives that I used!!
I have some knitting and crocheting to do. My DIL called this morning and wants me to crochet one of those eye-lash scarves so she can give it to her daughter...my niece...BY SUNDAY! I am still knitting dishclothes to give as little thank you's. And I have noticed that I need some crocheted house slippers for myself...mine all have holes in the soles!!! So far the girls are allowing me to do this. Inky forgets and wants to take off with the yarn once in a while but mostly she just sits and watches and wonders why that yarn is moving.  ::) ::)Â
Gotta go. Things to do.  I feel like Janet except I am doing it all at home!!!!
I came in here earlier to say, "I love getting Christmas cards folks! HINT HINT HINT"
Love y'all!

Trials and Pain: The Necessity of Wounds
Before I was afflicted I went astray, but now I keep Your word.... It
is good for me that I have been afflicted, that I may learn Your
statutes.
--Psalm 119:67,71
It is amazing to me! There are people within the ranks of
Christianity who have been taught and who believe that Christ will
shield His followers from wounds of every kind.
If the truth were known, the saints of God in every age were only
effective after they had been wounded. They experienced the humbling
wounds that brought contrition, compassion and a yearning for the
knowledge of God. I could only wish that more among the followers of
Christ knew what some of the early saints meant when they spoke of
being wounded by the Holy Spirit....
In every generation, the people who have found God have been those
who have come to the end of themselves. Recognizing their
hopelessness, they have been ready to throw themselves on the mercy
and grace of a forgiving God.
Men Who Met God, pp. 59,62
"Lord, don't let me waste the humbling wounds. Do Your great work
within me, and help me to respond properly and learn all You want me
to learn through Your working. Amen."

Thanks Chris! Great hymn. I'm so happy to remember that God WILL take care of me...through any trial.
Today has not been a good day for me - I feel terrible. Ledft work at 3 pm and now am ready to head to bed.
Maybe..tomorrow...
Who knows? Well, God does, and that's what matters.
Ruth Ann
Ohhh, Ruth Ann, get better! We sure need you around here.
I missed that Mel had to have stitches, Ruth. I read your message too quickly. I'm sorry about that. I believe that knives that aren't razor sharp are the ones that do the most harm. I have all of my knives very, very sharp and all are kept high out of reach of most of the grandchildren.
Let's remember Larry!
He's gone through his procedure today. Not sure when we'll hear from him.

by Andrae Crouch
How can I say thanks
for the things you have done for me?
Things so undeservered,
Yet You gave to prove Your love to me?
The voices of a million angels
Could not express my gratitude.
All that I am and ever hope to be
I owe it all to Thee.
To God be the glory,
To God be the glory,
To God be the glory,
For the things He has done.
With His blood
He has saved me,
With His power
He has raised me,
To God be the glory
For the things He has done.
Just let me live my life
Let it be pleasing, Lord, to Thee;
And should I gain any praise,
Let it go to Calvary.
With His blood
He has saved me
With His pow'r
He has raised me,
To God be the glory
For the things He has done,

Mary's Boy Child (http://www.christianphotographers.com/sounds/christmas/marysboychild.mid)
(Click to hear music)
Words & Music by Jester Hairston
Long time ago in Bethlehem
So the Holy Bible say
Mary's Boy Child, Jesus Christ
Was born on Christmas Day
Hark, now hear the angels sing
"New King's born today
And man will live forevermore
Because of Christmas Day."
While shepherds watched their flocks by night
They saw a bright new shining star
And heard a choir from heaven sing
The music came from afar
Hark, now hear the angels sing,
"New King's born today
And man will live forevermore
Because of Christmas Day."
Now Joseph and his wife Mary
Came to Bethlehem that night
They found no place to bear her Child
Not a single room was in sight,
By and by they found a little nook
In a stable all forlorn
And in a manger cold and dark
Mary's little Boy Child was born.
Trumpets sound and angels sing
Listen to what they say
That man will live forevermore
Because of Christmas Day.

Many thanks for your recipes and menus that appear here on CP - gives me some ideas on what to have for lunch and supper.
I will be scarce here for a few days, as our Christmas celebrations start on Friday, when we leave for our daughter's home.
Thank you Pat for reminding us to pray for Larry. I miss him already!
Hopefully I won't get bonked on the head. I am very late in getting my words here. ;D
Thank you everyone for the Birthday Wishes. My day didn't get off to a good start. I awoke 5 minutes after I should have been on the road to work. I managed to make it only 8 minutes late. I also realized partway to work that my glasses were not in my case in my purse but beside the computer at home. When I arrived at work, it was land in the middle of a problem that took quite a bit of time to resolve. I did however receive many unexpected Birthday wishes from co-workers. My day ended much better than it began.
Pat, I spoke to Mom on the phone and MSN, but did not see her. I had dinner with my daughter and another elderly friend.
I was greedy, I went back for a second helping of my birthday cake Pat. ;)
Larry, and Papa John, I was thinking of both of you today.
Safe traveling Judy M.
Now, I think I must be off to bed so that my "tomorrow" doesn't start like my today did! ::)
Well, Sue, I went and looked and your cake is all gone now. Guess you enjoyed it! LOL
Guess it's time to put Etta Sue's cat out!
Let's re-welcome Carrie in tomorrow's New Every Morning as I know she goes to bed early and she'll see the messages tomorrow.
God bless you all.
