Morning Devotional...

We beheld His glory....
John 1:14

Father, I will that they also, whom Thou hast given Me, be with Me where I am; that they may behold My glory
John 17:24

Glory is all but indefinable.

English dictionaries and Greek lexicons alike have problems finding a concise definition.

Glory is renown; splendor, magnificence; majesty, beauty; effulgence; radiance; light. Privileged disciples saw all this in the lowly Man of Galilee.

One day we who love Him shall see it too.

This is His desire and prayer, and it will be granted.
--Jim Flanigan

In Thee most perfectly expressed
The Father's glories shine;
Of the full deity possessed,
Eternally divine.
--Josiah Conder

A GOOD MORNING ALL :) 10.06AM

PAT thank you for the devotional this morning AND ALSO FOR THE HYMS GOD IS SO GOOD and

I have had a goodnight at 2.00Am i wake up have take a look on CP but i was to sleepy i am going back to my bed and i have sleep till 8.30AM :D

CHRIS LIZ AND LEE
i go Sunday to the Baptist church in the evening at 7.00PM there is also in the morning a divine but in the evening there is always such nice musik and then the people are so happy that is so nice.
But when i will be really member of the Baptist church then i must i think again be baptize they have sop or dunk in.
I am baptist as baby from 6 weeks and i have done denomination of faith when i was 22 years.
I have a little bit trouble with a new baptize with my sence. I am sentimental. My parents have let me baptize when i was a baby.
But in Holland you may also be guest member and think
about that everything is going now so quick.

But we have no rain on this moment in the evening we will have again rain. We have really the
dark days for Christmass.

My son Marcel must work this week and then he has 3 weeks vacance i love it when he is home
enjoyable :D

How wonderful that we on Christmass morn,
Though centuries have passed since Christ was born,
May worship still the Living Lord of men,
Our Saviour, Jesus, Babe of Bethelem.
                                                     Hutchings.
Bye for now

Hello Pat and Ria.

Oh that I might "Behold His glory" and I shall because Jesus shed His blood for me and I asked Him into my life....wonderful!

Ria Enjoy the times with Marcel.  I know that feeling and I have shed some tears lately as I see my children living their lives...comes to us all, but it is painful.  The birds all "fly the nest" sometime. It is the way of things.

I will be back later.
From a frosty Birmingham, England...
Love Jenny.

Well,  :), finally I am back here.  I was feeling quite "under the weather" for the past week and have not even been to the computer.  Only in the bed and then back to work, back to bed, church and our Christmas Cantata, "I'll Be Home for Christmas" )arranged by Russel Mauldin).  Have any of you ever presented this in your church.  We have been working on it since August.  (It takes us a long time to get it together).

I pray a beautiful, blessed day for all!  (

By the way..it is 27 degress here in South Carolina this morning.

Goodmorning Pat, Ria, Jenny and Kathy.

Oh God's Glory I will carry that with me all day.

Ria:  I attended a Baptist Church all my life, it was during one of my Sunday School lessons that I accepted Jesus as my Lord and Saviour, I was baptised in water as an adult but have never became a member can you not do the same?

Sarah as you head off to school to learn I will be headed out the door to transport the children to their school of learning. Following that it is the bus drivers annual breakfast which is a lot of fun.

Sarah will you be finished on friday for a couple of weeks vacation then back to the books again after the new year?

Have a wonderful day.

Ruth

Sarah, only three days after today and then that two weeks' vacation!  Yes!  I am looking forward to seeing my grandkids, and having the younger ones here for a few days, if we can work out the transportation.  Abby is not a problem, only 30 miles to go get her!  But Justin and Addison live so far..........

Kathy, I'm sorry you have not been feeling up to par, and hope you are all better now!

Soni, is Lila Mae better this morning?  I hope she is.

Hello, Jenny and Ria!  Good to see you both today.

If the sun comes out and thaws the ice from the roads, Darrel and I are going to Liberal to finish our Christmas shopping today.  Then tonight is the Christmas Dinner at the care home where my Mom lives, so I will go to that.

Darrel made me sausage and scrambled eggs for breakfast, so I'd better eat it while it is hot!

See you later!

Good Morning. Pat thanks for the devotional today.
My day will go as: 1. go to Bea's house, 2. Do her laundry, 3.  take her grocery shopping. If it rains i will go do her shopping for her. 4. Then back home, 5. do a load of my own laundry, 6. prepare my dinner and 7. relax.

I am up earilier than usual this morning. I wanted to spend some extra time in prayer and in my bible. I will be starting Ephesians tomorrow.

Be Back Later

Pat~I didn't understand the verse John 17:24 until I looked it up in the NIV Bible.

Father, I want those you have given me to be with me where I am and to see my glory, the glory you have given me because you loved me before the creation of the world.

Amen!

Ria~To be baptized, you must be submerged in the water.  It isn't so bad.  I was baptized a few years ago and became a member of the baptist church here.  They are all wonderful people.

It says in the bible somewhere about being baptized. I am not sure where.  Maybe someone else knows. Hint!

Hi Kathy! I am glad you are feeling better.  This sickness seems to be hanging around our house.  I am going to start taking a bunch more vitamins.

Janet~mmmm....sausage and eggs. yummmy!
Lila Mae hasn't got up yet, but I hope she is better.  Her little nose is all raw from it running so much. I think that hurts more then anything else.

None of my other kids got sick this much as a baby.  Not sure what I am doing different with her.  :(
She was even born with a cold.  :-\

I have to take Chandraya to the dentist to put some caps over her adult teeth.  I think it is called caps, or maybe a white protective coding stuff to keep them nice and clean so she won't get cavities.

I just found out I have to pay another $60.00  :o to keep Troy in swimming since he is homeschooled.  Boy, talk about expensive.  I am going to do some calling around today to see "why!"

Hi Marilyn.  Have a good day with the Lord and with Bea.  :D

Good morning to the rest of you who come in after me.

Hi everyone.  Welcome Gregg to the CP site.

Ria, I understand your concern about being required to be baptized a second time.  My wife had attended the Baptist church as a child and after we were married we lived in a community and attended a Baptist Church and we decided to join.  I had been baptized by immersion in the Disciples of Christ (Christian) church where I had always attended.  However, the Baptist Church insisted that I be baptized again in order to join their church.  I did agree to do so as figured it didn't hurt anything but never felt it was needed as certainly remember my first baptism.  If I had to make the decision again it would be different as don't feel there was really any need for the second immersion.  Glad you will have such a nice long time with your son being on vacation during the holidays.

Jenny, you made the comment that "The birds all "fly the nest" sometime."  We have a "bird" who will soon be 40 years old and I don't think she is ever going to "fly the nest".  Another 18 months of schooling and then hopefully she will be able to get a job where she can support herself and get out on her own.

Kathy, glad to see you back and sure sorry to read you have had such a tough time being ill.  I don't believe I have heard of the Christmas Cantata you mentioned but sure it must have been wonderful.  I always liked the Cantata's written by John Peterson but it has been many years since I have had the priviledge of singing his music.

Sarah, sure hope you didn't get stuck on a school bus yesterday.  It sounds like you are looking forward to your vacation.  Will you have basketball practice during the vacation time?

Janet, it sounds like Darrel spoils you with those good breakfasts.  Hope my wife doesn't read that message and get ideas.

Sonja, it sounds like Lila Mae has been ill way to long for a little one.  Sure hope she is a lot better today.

Today is Calvin Cove music day and we will once again sing Christmas songs and carols, which the folks really seem to enjoy.

I haven't mentioned everyone posting yesterday and today but have read all the postings and hope everyone has a fine day.

Hi Everyone!

I'm in a rush today but thought I'd bring my coffee here and read what's been posted so far today!

Neil, it's great to have you back.  I wondered where you were.  What's the weather like over there in England where you are located?

Boots, I'll go and read your question in the Manna for the Soul area.

Hi Larry!   As long as the baptism is Believer's Baptism, I'd agree with you.  The order is set out in the New Testament as to when a person should be baptised and as long as we follow that order, I'd agree.    Hope you enjoy Calvin Cove today.

Oops, phone and someone at the door!...

Hello all!  Just jumping in for a moment while the TAS is distracted!  What it is with toddler's and putting stuff up their nose.  UGH.   Fortunately, that piece of styrofoam was small and came out easily enough.   :-\

I hope all y'all have an awesome day.  I hope to be in later, when he takes a nap or something.  Then, my sentences are a little more coherent, because I'm not having to look over my shoulder at him every few seconds.

Thought for the day --

December 16

Trials and Pain: He Puts Me Flat Down

Now it came to pass at the end of seven days that the word of the Lord
came to me, saying, "Son of man, I have made you a watchman for the
house of Israel; therefore hear a word from My mouth, and give them
warning from Me." Ezekiel 3:16-17

I once heard a brother preach on the fact that the church should be
without spot or wrinkle. To get the wrinkles out of a sack, he said,
you fill it. To get a wrinkle out of a rug, you lay it down and walk
on it. God sometimes fills us, the preacher continued, but sometimes
He just puts us flat down so that everyone can walk on us!

King David long ago knew something of the latter method. He wrote,
"The plowers plowed upon my back: they made long their furrows"
(Psalm 129:3). I think David was talking about his enemies. And they
must have been wearing hobnail boots!

Ezekiel had just come to this kind of a low-ebbed, humbling
experience when God opened the heavens. In effect, God put His hand
on him and said, "Now I can use you. I have some words and some
plans that I want you to pass onto your country-men."
Men Who Met God, pp. 117-118

"Lord, whether You fill me or 'put me flat down,' I want to be fit
to be Your servant. Use Your best methods on me today, Father, as I
submit myself for Your use and Your glory. Amen."

The school Nativity play!

The 6yr old Joseph firmly holding Mary's hand,
"Landlord we need a room."

The 6yr old innkeeper,
"There's no room at the inn."

Joseph " but we've come a long way!"

Innkeeper "There's no room at the inn!"

Joseph, pushing innkeeper, "we need a room for the night!"

Innkeeper " there's no room at the inn!"

Joseph, " my wife mary is pregnant!"

Innkeeper, " well, that's not my fault!"

Joseph, " it's not mine either!!!!!!"

Showing a marvellous grasp of doctrine!

Angels We Have Heard on High  (http://www.christianphotographers.com/sounds/christmas/angelswe.mid)
(Click to hear music)

"A great company of the heavenly host
appeared with the angel, praising God and saying,
'Glory to God in the highest,
and on earth peace to men,
on whom His favor rests.'"
Luke 2:13-14

Words: Traditional French carol (Les Anges dans nos Campagnes). Translated from French to English by James Chadwick (1813-1882); appeared in Crown of Jesus, 1862

Music: "Gloria (Barnes)," French carol melody; arranged by Edward S. Barnes

Angels we have heard on high
Sweetly singing o'er the plains,
And the mountains in reply
Echoing their joyous strains.

Refrain

Gloria, in excelsis Deo!
Gloria, in excelsis Deo!

Shepherds, why this jubilee?
Why your joyous strains prolong?
What the gladsome tidings be
Which inspire your heavenly song?

Refrain

Come to Bethlehem and see
Christ Whose birth the angels sing;
Come, adore on bended knee,
Christ the Lord, the newborn King.

Refrain

See Him in a manger laid,
Whom the choirs of angels praise;
Mary, Joseph, lend your aid,
While our hearts in love we raise.

Refrain

Hi, Everyone!  I'm back home now, after going shopping with Darrel today, then to the dinner at the care home with my Mom.  It was really a good meal, and they had everything decorated so nicely, too.

Darrel bought me a new coat today!  It is a full length one, and so warm, but not heavy.  And it's washable! ;D  I think I will keep this guy!

Sonja, do you give your kids vitamins?  We have learned over the years how much they help, especially Vitamin C in the winter, to help prevent colds.

Pat, that's quite a while for a puzzle!  How many pieces did you do?  (I know, ALL of them, but you know what I mean!) ;)

I think I will go do a few more cards and wrap the gifts we bought today.  I am having a little luncheon for my painting students on Thursday, and the table is now piled high with cards and wrapping stuff.

QuoteBy Janet~Sonja, do you give your kids vitamins?  We have learned over the years how much they help, especially Vitamin C in the winter, to help prevent colds.

We take lots of vitamins.  Troy can't take echinecea or golden seal because he is allergic to them but he does take vit. C and a multivitamin. Zachery can't take to much vitamin C because it irritates his stomach. Chandraya drinks echinecea tea and takes calcium, multivitamin and vitamin C.  Lila takes the drops of vitamins and the gummy bear eachinecia and calcium.

Mike and I take all of these plus Vitamin E.  I never really thought of it, but we spend about $100.00 on vitamins a month.  ::)

I just found out that I now have to pay $103.35 to keep Troy in swimming.  It is just for homeschoolers.  I guess the school has to pay $1100.00 a year for sports and they just came up with a $100.00 for the homeschoolers.  I find that to be a rip off!  He likes it so I guess I will pay it.  grrr...

I got some pictures of down town today while helping Zachery with the paper route.  I hope they turned out so I can post them.

Lila Mae is feeling a bit better.  She was giggling at the dinner table so that is a good sign.

I am going to get to bed early to catch up on my sleep.  I will talk with you all tomorrow.  Have a good night.

I did it in the triangles that it's programed for.  I know I could change that but just wanted to try to do it.  Photo of the new coat, please?

Sonja, good that you take those vitamins and good that the kids get them too.
