Morning Devotional...

Jesus on Criticizing and Praying
Matthew 7:1-12  NLT

1"Stop judging others, and you will not be judged. 2For others will treat you as you treat them. Whatever measure you use in judging others, it will be used to measure how you are judged. 3And why worry about a speck in your friend's eye when you have a log in your own? 4How can you think of saying, `Let me help you get rid of that speck in your eye,' when you can't see past the log in your own eye? 5Hypocrite! First get rid of the log from your own eye; then perhaps you will see well enough to deal with the speck in your friend's eye.

6"Don't give what is holy to unholy people. Don't give pearls to swine! They will trample the pearls, then turn and attack you.

7"Keep on asking, and you will be given what you ask for. Keep on looking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened. 8For everyone who asks, receives. Everyone who seeks, finds. And the door is opened to everyone who knocks. 9You parents--if your children ask for a loaf of bread, do you give them a stone instead? 10Or if they ask for a fish, do you give them a snake? Of course not! 11If you sinful people know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give good gifts to those who ask him.

12"Do for others what you would like them to do for you. This is a summary of all that is taught in the law and the prophets.

Jesus tells us to examine our own motives and conduct instead of judging others.

The traits that bother us in others are often those we dislike in ourselves.  Our own bad habits and behavior patterns are the very ones that we most want to change in others.  Do you find it easy to magnify others' faults while excusing your own?

If you are ready to criticize someone, check to see if you deserve the same criticism.  Judge yourself first, and then lovingly forgive and help your neighbor.

I just got an email from Jerry's daughter telling me that they finally have sold the mobile home.  I have been worried that the pipes have frozen and haven't been to the mobile home park to see if the mobile home is still there.  I don't know who bought it...hopefully the mobile home park manager.  I may have lunch with Lynn, Jerry's daughter, Saturday.

Good morning everybody.

I surely hope that all of you had a wonderful evening.  We had a bit of a battle here last night, but I think it's sorted now.

It's funny, in a way, how the Lord works in your life.  I've been having the strangest need to go back to church and get my life back on track.  After the heartache last night my sister and I both decided that it was high time we get our lives back on track.  We are going to start visiting churches in Port Elizabeth untill we find the right place for us.  Thank you to all who has been praying for me....looks like it's working and that God is answering your prayers and my deepest desire. I can't wait to start this.

Have a great day

Adri

Well done Adri!
Don't wait to make new year resolutions that are seldom  kept.
Go and find that church that He has prepared for you.
"I go before you."
John ch. 14 v 2.
This verse is so true in my life, looking back now, I can see so many times that He went before me and prepared just the right things for my Spiritual and physical life.
God bless you .

Good morning, everyone!

Personally, Etta, I criticize much more than I pray.  It doesn't require that I be honest, it doesn't require that I be pure before God, and it doesn't require that I care about the person I'm criticizing.  It's much easier, don't you think?

I honestly get very upset with myself about this.  I'm most critical of fellow church members, I think, followed by those I love most.  God help me to be more gracious.

Thanks for the thoughts!  I hope all of you have a good day.  Karma is getting better but Travis had a really rough day yesterday and a terribly rough night.  Mostly "croup", but it's making him throw up some and he can't sleep very well for coughing.

Hi everyone.  I am having trouble with my Comcast Hi-Speed Internet as very often the service is very slow.  I have been in contact with them and they can't send out a technician until Jan 10th.  Not sure I can tolerate this type of service for that long.  I guess in the long run this isn't the most important thing in life but it sure is aggravating.

We have another overcast but fairly warm day here in Georgia.  Our area missed any of the heavy rains and while we were under a tornado warning for a while yesterday it was removed early last evening.

Ruth Ann, glad to see you back online.  I had been missing your positngs.  Hope today finds you feeling better.

Nards, glad that Karmat is doing better and hope Travis has turned the corner and is also feeling better today.  That croup can be a very scarey thing in young children.

Adri, hope you and your sister find the church you are looking for soon.

Etta Sue, glad to hear that they have been able to sell Jerry's mobile home.  Hope you are able to meet with Lynn on Saturday.  Also, thanks for the devotional this morning.

Ruthie, I feel the same way as your friend regarding my health.  I have gone into the cath lab a couple of times where the doctors have told my wife there was very high risks.  It sure makes things easier not to be worried.

Nita, thanks for the report on Jane.  It sure sounds like you all are being hit hard by the bad weather and I saw that there is another huge storm coming in across the cost.  Keep that umbrella handy.

Nothing new here.  I want to get a review written today that has been hanging over me.  Hope this is a great day for you all.

Good Morning Thank you Etta Sue for the devotional today.

I have been here to read earlier but decided to get somethings done first before I posted. so I have stripped and remade my bed and gotten myself ready for work, completed a Stationery I was making for one of my groups. All I have left to do is eat my breakfast.

Today is my follow up appointment at the doctor for a pneumonia shot and the results of my Brain Scan. I have laundry to do when I get back home.

Yes Larry there is another big storm coming this way and another after that.

I am taking my sewing machine over to Versal's today so I can hem up two pair of PJ's she got for Christmas.

I will be back later.

Nards ~ I, too, find myself criticizing others.  But I am recognizing what I am doing.  Is that a good step?  I then make myself think of something positive in the situation.  For instance...I don't understand why my brother and sister-in-law couldn't wait until after Christmas to go back to Florida.  But then I thought...I am thankful that I have a brother and sister-in-law that has the health and wealth to go to Florida for the winter.  That positive thought outweighs the negative thought by far.

Adri ~ You are on your first step for having a loving and fulfilling relationship with God.  Find your church...when you do, you will know it is yours.  Serve Him in every way you can and reap the joys.

Chris ~ Is that Margit in your photo with the scripture?  It sure looks like her.  And thanks for the scriptured photo.

Larry ~ I am looking forward to hearing from Lynn Saturday.  In one way, I am hoping to see the mobile home one more time and in another way, I don't want to see it.  Mixed emotions.  Remember, I used to live in this mobile home myself....lots of memories!!

Marilyn ~ I am praying that your follow up appointment goes well.  Praying that everything is fine and dandy.

Today is my last chiropractor appointment...at least, this one.  I won't know what to do, not going to Noblesville every other day!  After the appointment I want to go to Wally World and then this evening, Ivalou and I are going to my g-niece's Baby Shower.  I crocheted a baby afghan for their little girl-to-come.

Good day, friends,

I saw the foot doctor this mroning and he says the bone and new bone are now fusing. I may be out of the boot entirely and into a shoe by next month.

God is good to answer prayer. He knows just how long to take to do a good job - sometimes it's hard to wait, but then again, causing God's perfect repair job to be a not so good one because of my interference is not a good thing.

About criticism. I've been the criticized person many times and when I learn about it, it causes a wound in my heart. My feeling is that the golden rule applies here - if I do not want to be hurt myself, then why should I take the chance of criticising someone even in my thoughts. For, as a man thinks in his heart, so is he.

Hello all! So after having a stomach virus (that's twice in the past month or so -- I think I've paid my dues, thank you), I was up almost all night with the Trav.  He finally settled down between 4 and 4:30 and was able to sleep.  So then, it was up and to the doctor with him.  Sinus infection, ear infection, 10 days of antibiotics.  I'm tired.

Glad to see everyone posting.  It is hard to believe another year is almost gone.  2006 is quickly approaching!

Hi Everyone...

I went out last evening for coffee with some friends at a new restaurant very close to me and just before I started to drink my coffee I started to get so chilly and then felt terrible and when I came home I had what Karma had.  I was up all last night as well.  I've not got dressed today.  I'm still in my robe.  My daughter-in-law phoned to ask if I wanted to go with her to Cambridge and she heard how I sounded and brought me some chicken soup.

It's so nice to read all your posts.

God bless you Adri.

I used to go to a church in Richmond Hill (Richmond Hill Baptist) many years ago and the Pastor was from Port Elizabeth.  His name was Dr. Arnot.  They went back and settled down in Port Elizabeth again and I wonder if his church is still going.  He has passed away since then.

I knew that was Margit I recognized her. That is a wonderful photo Chris. We have missed you here you hknow.

I am off to the doctor shortly to get the results of the scan. I have some sewing to do when I get back home. Versal's scissors were so dull they would not even make a small cut in the fabric.

Amazing Love    (http://christianphotographers.com/sounds/amazinglove.mid)
(Click to hear music)

My Lord what love is this?
That paid so dearly
That I, the guilty one, may go free.

Chorus:
Amazing love, oh what sacrifice
The Son of God, given for me
My debt He paid, and my death He died
That I, might live.
That I, might live.

And so, they watched Him die
Despised and rejected
But oh, the blood He shed, flowed for me.

Chorus:
Amazing love, oh what sacrifice
The Son of God, given for me
My debt He paid, and my death He died
That I, might live.
That I, might live.

And now, this love of Christ
Will flow, like rivers
Come wash, your guilt away, And live again.

Chorus:
Amazing love, oh what sacrifice
The Son of God, given for me
My debt He paid, and my death He died
That I, might live.
That I, might live.

HAHAHAHA!  Chris, I bet you had to pay to get into Chester Cathedral!  When I was there, there was no charge!  Now I'm showing my age!  LOL   There used to be a really nice shop there too up the path to the Cathedral that sold all sorts of brass things and I have two lovely brass plates hanging on my wall that were purchased in that store.

Thanks for "Just a Closer Walk with Thee"

Good Evening to y-all. Not much going on around here just waiting for the storm to come rolling in with all the wind. Much wind is expected. I got out one of my Hurricane lamps and have it filled and on the kitchen table.

I think I told you about the little pillow I got for Christmas well tonight i found out that my wonderful DIL made that little pillow for me. It is so professional that I thought they bought it and wanted to know what store they got it from, then Gilbert told me that Sarah had made the pillow. Isn't that awesome.

Hello,Pat and company!!!:) :D ;D I am coming to greet you tonight from beautiful San Carlos, Mexico!  It is right on the beach at the Sea of Cortez, and we have a lovely view of the water from our window.  We got here just at dusk, and as the sun set, we could see 80 miles across the water to Baja California!   So far, we have done a lot of driving (850 miles) and a lot of riding on the bus.  Tomorrow we are going to do some sight-seeing and have a slower day.  We will be here three nights, then head to the Copper Canyon.

They have FREE internet access here in this hotel, isn´'t that neat?  And a lot of characters on this keyboard that I am not used to having, so please excuse my errors.

It is SO good to see Ruth Ann back, and I pray that Karma and Trav are all better by now.  You, too, Pat!

Love all of you, and I will check in again if I get a chance.
